YOUR 28/07/02 Velocity Workrate Report (format stolen from the inimitable Dean Rasmussen and Phil Schneider) WHAT WORKED: Gay Boys vs. Near Fall Billy Gunn has some pretty okay punches.Nice dropkick by Moore on Gunn.SHINING ENZIGURI~! rocks hard.Cobra Clutch Slam (I think) by Gunn looked pretty swank.I'm thinking of putting this match into the "What Didn't" category because of the shitty superkick.Full Velocity (formerly Worldwide) Point. Mike Awesome vs. Tajiri: Nice reversals of an attempted single-leg takedown and a Tarantula.Ooh,psychology,playing off Awesome's bad knees.Holy shit,that slingshot cross-body was awesome.And there's the Tarantula.nice build to it,with Awesome putting over the fact he didn't want to put into it,then having Tajiri work over his leg and Awesome's selling of it (usually not the strong suit of power wrestlers) was nice as well.The legwork was good and the kick that ended it was nice,although the wrong man went over.At least a Velocity point. Kidman vs.Noble(The Good): Crazy-looking bump off the apron.He looks like he torched his shoulder.HOLY FUCK MARC LLOYD CALLED AN EXPLODER.Nice exploder also,by the way.Nice series of reversals into the powerbomb.Barely here because of the reasons stated above.I was expecting so much more,and was disappointed so very,very much.1/4 Velocity point. Rico vs. Bob Holly: The selling of the hair was a nice touch.Nice superkick by Rico.Nice chops as well.Nice moonsault by Rico,followed by Holly's swank-ass-as-usual dropkick and powerbomb.SWANK-AS-HELL~! fucking Arm-Clutch Suplex (or is there another name for it?The Gas Mask doesn't include the overhead throw.)Million Billion stars,10 full Velocity points,and my offer to have Rico's manbaby. WHAT DIDN'T: The Brock Lesnar/Angle recap segment.I hate Stephanie McMahon and Bischoff was very annoying the segments shown.The super-dramatic music when Steph says "If you're not in the limo,who is?" is ridiculously bad. GODDAMNIT WHERE'S THE JUNIOR?REY MYSTERIO JUNIOR!!!FUCK!! Kidman Vs. Noble(The Bad): Fucking Cole focusing on Nidia instead of the match.Was that a botched count by the ref?If so,FOOK YOU REF.Also,I hated the finish. IN SUMMATION: Great show,and any oppoprtunity to steal from the DVDVR Playaz is always nice.
