Which of these three superstars....

I think RVD and Eddy should get the major end of any push. Booker dosen't really need crammed down anybody's throat right now, so keep the push going as it is. Slowly.

I'd rather see all three of them elevated before Benoit, however.

what you got against Benoit? You... You... Benoit hater!

Eddy is my fav, but RVD would be the best choice for the push. Booker is a solid worker with a good catchphrase (and the spinaroonie) but I think a higher midcard position is best for him.

Okay. Maybe I am.

In my eyes, Benoit is way over-rated, especially around here. All this "PUSH BENOIT!" and "Benoit belongs in the main event!" kinda stuff just seems..out there. Was Benoit over as a semi-main eventer at one time? Yes. Was he as constantly over as RVD has been? No. Benoit got to beat a lot of guys, making them submit to his finisher. RVD, while beating a lot of guys when he first arrived, hasn't had that stellar of a record..of late, being jobbed off to Lesnar at every oppertunity.

"Talent" and "Psychology" have never necessarily been WWF/E main event buzzwords. As "good of a wrestler" Austin may have been (though that's every person's opinion. Mine happens to be that he was a peice of..*ahem*), but many of his matches just degenerated into spotfests. Same with HHH, Rocky, and every other main eventer in the history of the company. Even Bret Hart, another smark hero, got into his own little routine after a while.

Why RVD and not Benoit?

Benoit won't get over with the fans unless he gets a HHH-level push. Even as a face. People (not in Canada) simply can't get behind him. That's important for a main eventer, and something RVD can clearly do. He gets pops..not only for his entrance, but during his matches. So what if they're just "spot pops"? Booker T gets a great entrance pop..but his matches tend to be cricket-chirp level of heat.

Rob may not be the most technical wrestler, but he's exciting, and marketable as hell. Want to bet me that Benoit could beat him on that particular point, either? I didn't think so. I can say one thing, Van Dam's moveset looks credible against bigger guys..assuring he won't have the Chris Jericho Syndrome.

Booker should get a main push, yes..but they need to build him first, as I've said in this thread. Eddy could be a good main event heel, because the guy can get heat by just -standing there-. So it happens to be that Benoit is the best wrestler of the bunch. When has that mattered at all? Someone as abyssmal as Hogan drew for a long, long time. RVD's ten times more talented when it comes to wrestling ability than the Hulkster. He's got everything it takes, right now, and THAT is what the WWE needs.

You have a guy that's consistantly over, draws, and is fun to watch.

You have a guy that's so-so in overness, and dosen't nearly have the charisma.

Being a buisnessman, who would you pick?

I may be an RVD mark, but I'm not stupid. It couldn't possibly hurt the WWE to put RVD as their main star. HHH isn't working. Rocky will be gone, and Kurt Angle? Still got a lot of rebuilding left.

My two cents.

RVD is the right choice right now, he has improved a lot compare to the way he used to wrestle in ECW, the RVD/Benoit feud was awesome and hopefully them 2 will wrestle again in the future.Booker has been on a losing streak for the longest and even the word "sucka" is not as over as RVD, and his matches are ok but not as compelling as RVD's. The Book is getting a nice slow steady push and eventually he'll be a main eventer but not this year and Eddy could be a good main eventer but Vince has to be buried in the ground before Eddy becomes a ME.

Gotta go with booker. He had a good ME run in WCW, who's to say he can't do it again?

Booker's title run came near during the death march for WCW, I'd hardly call it a stellar run.

I'm confused. What is RVD gonna do now that Benoit is on SMDN? Follow him there or stay on Raw and job?

okay, this is what pissed me off: he was in the crossface twice, and after the match was over, he just got up. no holding the shoulder in pain, not even shaking the shoulder, acting exactly as if he'd never been in it. it destroyed the credibility of benoit's finisher, because it made it look like rvd was never really in any danger of tapping out. if benoit hadn't worked the arm the whole match & had hit the crossface out of nowhere for the submission, it would've been okay. but he had his arm worked the entire match, & was in the crossface for a long damn time. wrestlers do shit like this all the time, but i tend to overreact when someone does it with benoit, cause...well, it just pisses me off when someone makes benoit look bad.

K, I'm not sure whether or not you were joking there, but I seriously doubt that marks are paying that much attention to to what RVD does after the match is over...as a smark, I don't even do it. And besides, people know that wrestling is "fake" anyway, so it's not like that's gonna make the move look less credible. Not to say that RVD shouldn't have sold after the match, but it's unneccessary to crucify the man for not selling, especially when there wasn't an emphasis on post-match activities to begin with.

As for who should be pushed...Book does need to be re-built, and Eddie has potential, but RVD's got a lot going for him right now, so he'd be the obvious choice. Not much more I can add...
