Oh God,this Canada vs. United States shit gets really old.Who cares? And the funny thing is Canadians and Americans arent really Canadian or American.

what the hell is that supposed to mean?

We're mostly of European descent. So a Canadian guy and an American guy could both be Scottish and still argue over the "who's better" stuff. And no country is better, so the whole argument is stupid.

Well, I was born in Canada, I grew up in Canada, and I live in Canada. I'm a Canadian.

and yes, Don't make bob_barron put Test back in his signature!

I know what you mean, but at some point a long time ago your relatives moved from somewhere else to Canada. For example,my Great-Grandfather moved from Ireland to Canada, and then to the United States. So you see I couldve been Canadian.

But I hope that doesnt get Test back into barrons sig.

Well, put it this way. I have no reason to 'battle' France.

How about

"Because they're France?" :)

Um....good reason.

So what, do you just sit around and think about ways to piss off certain people for no reason at all? I'm a tad curious, is your last name Bin Ladin?

Holy crap. And they say Americans are pompous and self-centered?

Why do other countries complain about Americans not caring about other nations, when NO ONE else fucking does? I doubt the heart of the UK, Italy or Canada bleeds for people in Latin America. I doubt anyone gives a shit about Latin America, period. Hypocracy, I love it.

Canada's just America's little brother when you think about it.

Canada: Hey! Whatcha doin' down there, eh?

America: Gettin' ready for war, bitch.

Canada: Cool... can I come?

Canada- Area of 9,984,670 km^2, Population of 31,081,900 people

US- Area of 9,372,587 km^2, Population of 284,796,887 people

With so many people, races merging with each other is obviously going to be a harder task that would take a long while.

You've got around 600,000 square kilometers more than us, but Canada only has around 1/9th of the US population.

It's not fair to compare crime rates, racial "togetherness", or anything that involves people because such a big group of people is going to have the crazies, the idiots, the pompous, and the plain fools.

I like visiting Canada, and love living in the US. You shouldn't bash the other, because in the darkest of times, we'll always be there for each other.

everyone pays high taxes to ensure the wellbeing of all of our citizens through med-care, we actually give a fuck about other people (Americans know no History or Geography but their own).

Socialism ROCKS~!

Uhm, no.

Hey... don't diss socialism! Socialism rules!

I don't know why everybody is always hating on Canada... I've been there before, and it seemed like a nice place to me. Canada r0x0rs my s0x0rs! I'm down with the Canadian Alliance, I mean if the silly "board conflict" has to exist, might as well be on the side who's right, right?

On the side of who's right? You sure? There are a ton of shitty places in Canada too, and that's not just the Franchy part.

Actually Americans are hated globally.  It is common knowledge that citizens of Australia, England, and basically anywhere think that Americans are self-centred and pompous, that is why in Canada we are taught to sew our flag on our bags when travelling, because when global citizens realize you are Canadian and not American they treat you better.

I have to disagree about Americans being hated globally ... much of the young population of the Far-East in fact is enamored with the American culture and way of life; things such as American music, movies, and clothing styles make huge money over there, and are often imitated. The Governments might hate America, but that doesn't mean the entire population does.

I've visited Japan, Germany, Ireland, and Venezuela, and didn't feel hated anywhere that I went. Yes, there were exceptions and some people might not have liked the "ugly American" ... but it was just some of the people, not everyone. Just the same way some people don't like tomatoes, or rap music, or the color purple, some people don't like Americans.

For something to be fact, it must first be proven. Care to prove this?

I lived in Australia for 2 years and didn't hear anything about how they hate American's. Though they don't seem to like Italians very much.

Well I lived in Australia myself for two years (Sydney) and would care to state otherwise. Like I said I am not saying it is right, but in Canada and lots of other countries Americans are viewed as rude, and self-serving. I have met a lot of nice ones but I have met a lot who are ignorant and who overuse the "this would never happen in America" quote much to often to voice their displeasures.

But most people who say that are ignorant and self-serving themselves. You act as if their opinions are better than Americans' because, well, they are.

So you've met a few ultra-patriotic Americans, big fucking deal. We've all come across people of different ethnic backgrounds who can be complete assholes. Are we supposed to judge entire nations/races because of them?...

You're right, BMLH, but in relations to Canada though, it's not just ultra-patriotic Americans. Canada has been the BUTT of American jokes for years, for no apparent reason, so it's not surprising that many Canadians would assume that their opinions wouldn't matter, because so many Americans' opinions are anti-Canadian for no apparent reason other than they think it's funny.

So we make jokes about you while you thumb your nose at us, what's the problem? Stop crying because the big bad Americans make jokes about you, we make jokes about EVERYONE including ourselves, you're not the only ones.

So you come ay us with a bullshit feeling of moral superiority and we're supposed to stop making jokes? I don't get it. Stop being so fucking hypersensitive about (or aboot) things and maybe we'll stop. We are ballbusters here and it's only fun to bust someone's balls when they get upset about it.

I'm not crying because the big bad Americans make jokes, if it was just jokes I'd have no problem with it (well actually I would since the jokes aren't funny! but that's another gripe). It's that the jokes have gone on for so long that it's ceased to become a joke but an accepted viewpoint. It's almost part of American pop culture that you have to keep up this false viewpoint that Canada and other countries are inferior. Granted, that viewpoint has led to an international counter-viewpoint that all Americans are arrogant jingoistic pigs who know nothing about other countries, but that one is at least based in the fact that the majority of Americans grow up and live their lives thinking that they're better just because they're American. To me, that's more of a "bullshit feeling of moral superiority" than standing up for yourself and your nationality.

All I was doing originally was standing up for my country, which I believe to be the best in the history of the world and history has my back on that one. You guys started flaming America for no reason, with upside down flags and your silly little group.

I've responded and have yet to get anything good in responce back. You guys throw out the bad things that we may or may not have done and then declare us the Devil, without considering all the good we've done. Where did all the phone lines in Nove Scotia come from? Hmmm.... We must be evil because we not only created the telephone but provided it to you for free. You're welcome.

The reason we think we're better than anyother country is because overall we are. They is no country with a bigger economy, there is no country with a stronger military, there is no country our size with better living conditons, there is no country our size with better employment, etc....

Canada is so inconsequencial in the world that it's sad. You guys have a problem we help you out, we have 3,000 dead in the street and you send defective dog booties. We get no repect for anything good that we do, in fact we get scorn for it. Well fuck you and fuck the rest of the world! If you don't want any help even after you come begging for it than you shouldn;'t get any. Lets see where the world would be with out us. Chances are you'd be speaking fucking German right now or maybe Russian. So cut the anti-American bullshit until you grow up enough to know what the fuck you are talking about. I've had more than enough of it.

If Canada hates the States so much, why dont you use your military to attack us? Oh yeah, those whole 30 million or so people arnt gonna be able to do too much against our army.

Hell, if the world hates America so much, then speak the fuck up. We'll stop defending you asses. Wasnt Europe constantly waging war while we were isolated? Yeah, that's what i thought too.

For the record, multiculturism is worthless.

Oh, if i ever make it up to Canada, i want to see some mounties, beavers, and drunk Canadians say "Eh," damnit!
