please tell me what the hell this is doing in the 'wwe' folder.

and please tell me what the hell dean actually adds to the board. he doesn't participate in any real discussion, he just uses this as another way to pimp himself, and he only replies in his own threads.

DR: Watanabe vs Takako was less disappointing than Yoshida vs Lionness. Everything else the last six months was kinda like mirror-image six months. Both carried green youngsters to decent matches- (Yoshida with Taylor and Melissa; Watanabe with Noumi and Nishio), had a really good level of consistency, and had really neat offenses.

Hmm...I need more of the recent AJW stuff, though I wish they would give her a bit more to work with. Where are my Momo/Nabe matches?

First, why not tell me what you actually add to this little group we have around here? Since when is it your job to police this place and keep out those who "don't belong" or whatever the bullshit critisism is? Half the people who post here can't contribute much more than a few lame HHH jokes and the ignorant notion that their opinion actually means something. Who gives a fuck?

It's pretty straightforward wrestling. If you are getting a best of Akira Hokuto, get ready for women blading. That freaked me out the first time I saw it.

I asked before in Weinerville, guess I'll ask here too:

Is the booking style of the leauge a woman wrestles in have an effect on these ratings? One can't help but think that the WWE women are severely hampered by the current WWE booking style, while the joshi in Japan are greatly enhanced by it. Man, Cheerleader Melissa over Molly...

I also heard that some circuits in Japan are going for a more Americanized style. Will it greatly hurt the wrestlers in the Land of the Rising Sun in terms of performance? I read some of the recent Toyota matches, and they read ugly, not Trish-Jackie ugly, but ugly nonetheless.

I remember the first time I saw blood in a Woman Vs Woman match. It was off of one of the first FMW commercial tapes released here in the US (I think it was The King of the Death Match), Megumi Kudo Vs Mother In Law. It was an electrified barbed wire match, and they both took a massive shit-kicking. It freaked my sheltered, only having seen US womens matches mind out. Kudo was a wreck and I kind of felt uneasy watching it, seeing an attractive young woman covered in blood. It was a helluva match though. The second time was seeing Lita get knocked in the head by Ivory's boot at the Survivor Series 2000. She got a decent sized hardway gusher on that night.

<-----quite foriegn to Joshi

Women blading did indeed freak my out, too. Just women getting hurt in general is a bit hard to swallow at first, quite honestly. Hell, up until the Austin/HHH alliance formed last year and beat up the Hardy Boyz and Lita every week for seemingly endless amounts of time, I had never even seen a women take a serious beating. Watching Joshi was really awkward at first, because it's almost as if I would like to think that women aren't capable of the brutality unleashed by the likes of Kong, Hokuto, and LCO, as naive as that may sound. Mita/Shimoda Vs. Ito/Watanabe from 9/21/97 was quite an eye opener, in that regard.

I never used to like Manami Toyota until the last year. She has actually developed into a great cranky old ass-stomper- which is what you want when ya can't hit highspots anymore. Don't believe the Manami hype- she is better now than she ever was in terms of ring psychology.

As for the WWE-style, GAEA is all about the storylines and the promos and heel stables and the invasion angles. It's closer to old MidSouth booking, but they get accused of being the WWE of Joshi. I also think it's the best promotion in Japan. As for the men, DDT is COMPLETELY Sports Entertainmentized. It also rules it. If you can do it in the ring, I don't worry much about the other bullFLOP. They both get in done in the ring. Like Smackdown did last night.
