I'm with you on that one. Nothing makes me madder than seeing dumb ass black folks wearing the confederate flag and not realizing what it represents. White people can sport the flag all they want and I wouldn't have a problem with it, but I can't stand it when black people do things that ignorant. I'm personally offended by that. Peh! The confederate "rebel" flag doesnt represent racism, it represents a failed country. It represents different ideals. To say it shortly, it represents the south and "Southern Comfort." Yes, it represents a failed country that fought to keep people of African decent in bondage and oppression. That flag is rooted in racism, and as far as I'm concerned, any black man, woman or child caught dead wearing confederate colors should be ashamed of themself. You'll see me in the Klan before you ever see me fly a confederate flag. As a New Yorker, im proud to wear the flag ... at Ted Nugent/Lynyrd Skynyrd concerts. If anyone needs to be blamed for slavery in America it's the folks in Africa themselves. They sold their own people out. First off, don't even try blaming Africans for slavery. Yes, there were people who sold out to the slave traders, but it's not like African Kings just picked up the phone one day, called up some Europeans and said "Hey! We got some n*****s for ya!". And even with the role that they did play in the slave trade, it wasn't Africa that tried to strip African people of their culture. It wasn't Africans that hid African history from its own people, and for the most part, Africans didn't set out to dehumanize or destroy an entire race of people. I'm not saying that Africans didn't play a part in the slave trade or slavery itself, but to say they're to blame is the biggest bunch of bullshit I've ever heard in my life. Now as for the Confederate Flag, I don't know whether or not you're black, and I could really give a damn if you're from New York, Ghana or Mississippi, any black man that wears a confederate flag disrespects his ancestors and their struggles, and he should be ashamed of himself. It happens EVERYWHERE. Also, i dont know too many places that had phones back then, especially not cross continental ones. Calm down man, i have a different opinion. I think that the African rulers deserve as much of the blame as the spanish; we came in last for the "modern" slave trade. Blame the Spanish and blame the African. Think about it logially: would you rather pay or get something for free? Slavery has existed since the start of civilization, and will remain til we die. Why would I do that? lol Anyway, as far as slavery, I'll probably have to create a completely different thread to go into detail cuz I don't wanna jack the topic anymore than I've done, but American slavery was completely different from slavery as practiced by most ancient societies in that while most societies would take slaves after maybe a war, or use slavery as a form of debt payment, the tragedy (only word that can come to mind right now) in American slavery was the disrespect, dehumanization and near destruction of an entire race of people, which can't be justified or simply written off as capitalizing on a resource. American slavery is probably the most barbaric, brutal form of slavery known to man, and while I obviously don't hate white people, considering some of the acts committed against blacks in slavery alone, I can't say I'd blame black people that do hate whites.
