Guest El Hijo Del Lunatic Report post Posted August 2, 2002 why don't you watch real football aka soccer, thats a sport. They're both sports, and damn good ones at that. Good Lord. Anyway, I'm all fired up for tomorrow, in part because the Redskins are playing, in part because the Fun 'N' Gun is debuting (which should certainly be interesting to say the least), and mostly because I'll be able to go to a bar and get all snookered watching it. SCORE!! LUNATIC - Pimpin' ho's and clockin' a grip like my name was Dolemite.
Guest meanmaisch Report post Posted August 2, 2002 Ugh, preseason football. I might watch, as my beloved Niners are playing, but I probably won't.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted August 2, 2002 so who is playing tomorrow? is it just the game from Japan or will there be more?
Guest jimmy no nose Report post Posted August 2, 2002 bah to NFL...sissy football. So the one where people actually get hit is the "sissy" football, OK. Tomorrow's just the Japan game, 49ers-Redskins, Monday is the Hall of Fame Game, Texans-Giants.

Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted August 2, 2002 10 tomorrow night. I'll watch the first 15 minutes like I always do when it isn't my team and it's on tv in the preseason. Then the suck factor will come up...and I'll watch Confidential.
Guest phoenixrising Report post Posted August 2, 2002 Five weeks until the real football starts. Preseason games are a waste of time and inevitably several star players get hurt and flush their team's chances down the drain. Cut the number of games down, if you have to play them at all. 20 days until college football kicks off - August 22.
Guest redbaron51 Report post Posted August 2, 2002 bah Soccer is the most enduring sport of all time, and a physical toll on your body. And just because of one incident every one starts bitchin at it.
Guest redbaron51 Report post Posted August 2, 2002 and bps, why isn't soccer a sport? i like to know just to prove you wrong
Guest Shaved Bear Report post Posted August 2, 2002 rugby is more of a mans sport than soccer will ever be...lets agree to that
Guest MrRant Report post Posted August 3, 2002 As George Carlin says... Any sport that you can't touch the ball with your hands isn't a sport.
Guest redbaron51 Report post Posted August 3, 2002 false. the goalie can use their hands to grab the ball, so by that definition soccer is a sport
Guest jimmy no nose Report post Posted August 3, 2002 false. the goalie can use their hands to grab the ball, so by that definition soccer is a sport Actually, it's not definitely a sport by that definition, while it does say that any sport where you can't touch the ball with your hands isn't a sport, it never says that if you can touch the ball it automatically is a sport. Guest Kingpk Report post Posted August 3, 2002 Oh boy, I thought we went through this during the World Cup: America > the World so Football > Soccer Seriously, Soccer is just way too dull for me.
Guest JHawk Report post Posted August 3, 2002 Didn't Carlin say that even though you could touch the ball with your hands, bowling isn't a sport because of the ugly shoes? We all have our own definitions of what we see as a sport. Hell, some people consider pie eating contests a sport. It might be fun to stuff your face, but it's not a sport! Guest redbaron51 Report post Posted August 3, 2002 so is American football its boring as anything. thats why CFL is so more exciting with the three downs the bigger fields and no fair catch rule.
Guest The Man in Blak Report post Posted August 3, 2002 Oh boy, I thought we went through this during the World Cup: America > the World so Football > Soccer Seriously, Soccer is just way too dull for me. I respect Soccer players more than any other athletes in any other sport...but I've got to agree. The NFL just brings together a deeper game for my buck. Guest treble charged Report post Posted August 3, 2002 I've been watching football for weeks now, so I don't see why people are getting so excited about a pre-season game.
Guest redbaron51 Report post Posted August 3, 2002 they have to get something exciting because they know that a baseball strike is coming soon
Guest jimmy no nose Report post Posted August 3, 2002 they have to get something exciting because they know that a baseball strike is coming soon By the planned strike date the regular season will have already started, so no worries.
Guest redbaron51 Report post Posted August 3, 2002 if the strike comes early and if you have satellite you can watch some better football in the CFL
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted August 4, 2002 Redskins 38 49ers 7 Hmm..A good all around showing although everyones like, The Redskins did it with their first team (for most of the game) vs the Niners scrubs...
Guest Vyce Report post Posted August 4, 2002 NICE. My beloved Redskins soundly defeated the Niners. Will this mean Superbowl rings in the new Spurrier regime? ........Eh, probably not, but I can always hope so. BTW, Soccer is ONLY good when the goons in the stands are rioting. Death is literally the only thing than can butch up your sport.
Guest redbaron51 Report post Posted August 4, 2002 hmmm... washington starters defeat niners third stringers??! meh
