Guest Longdogger_Pete Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 The setting is the workers' parking lot just outside of the Sovereign Band Arena in Trenton, New Jersey, the day that New Jersey is to host the latest episode of SWF Storm. A black Eclipse pulls into a vacant space and the engine comes to a halt. The door opens and out steps Chris Wilson. The Magnificent Seven leader has arrived early at the arena, one of the first workers there, hoping to get some early training done in preparation for his big main event match scheduled for the evening. Chris Wilson walks away from his car, and is halfway across the parking lot when he senses a presence behind him. He starts to turn around in curiosity, but stops when he hears a gruff voice demand, "Don't move." Wilson stops in his tracks, waiting silently until he hears a second command. "Turn around... slowly." Wilson finally turns to get his first look at the man who has confronted him. Wilson actually smiles when he sees him. "Peter MacDougal. What a pleasure it is to finally meet you in person." "Save it," snaps Longdogger Pete. Though poised in a threatening posture, standing three feet away, Pete makes no effort to move any closer to or physically harm Wilson. Instead, he keeps talking. "It was you, wasn't it. It was you behind everything that happened to XF9, and specifically, behind the attack on Ash." Wilson tilts his head curiously. "What makes you say that? Has Ash told you that?" "I haven't seen Ash," Pete admits, "since the night he was hospitalized. But I didn't need Ash to figure it out--it was really very simple." "Really," mutters Wilson dryly. "Indulge me, then." "The Magnificent Seven are the only force in the SWF ruthless enough to have carried out such an attack," Pete offers. "Period. But who exactly planned it? Mercury hadn't yet joined the group at the time. It's no secret that I have history with the Boston Strangler, who has already tried once to end my career. Danny Williams I've had no quarrel with, but he is merely a pawn employed by one Tyler McClelland, whose in-ring career I effectively ended using a steel bat during a defense of the Hardcore title many months ago. Frost and TNT, your ridiculously titled tag team, have ties to my friend, Sydney Sky, and may see me as an obstacle in their relationship with her. But not one of these people could have masterminded a plot on the scale that's been attempted, except you. The only thing I want to know is why." "You poor deluded fool," Wilson replies. "You think everyone in this league has a personal vendetta against you? Let me fill you in on something, MacDougal. You are not as important as you think you are." "Now you listen to me, Wilson," Pete speaks in an icy tone. "I could've retaliated in any number of ways. I could have run you over with a car, or staged a massive ambush to beat you senseless, or hell, blown you up in a toy store or something, but I haven't. You know why? Because I consider myself a man of some integrity, and I will not stoop to your level!" "Aww, how noble," answers Wilson, stirring up Pete's ire. "The old-timer wouldn't want to look bad in front of his fans, is that it?" That did it. POW! Without even thinking about it, Pete hauls off with a hard right punch across Wilson's jaw. Wilson just stands there a moment, rubbing his jaw, assessing the damage, which is minor. Wilson stares straight ahead at Pete for a long moment, expressionless... ...and then he begins to laugh. "Stay out of X Force 9's affairs," Pete orders Wilson. "Starting now. If you get in our way again, there will be retribution, I can guarantee you that." "You know something, McDougal?" Wilson asks. "We may just do that. You see, we may not have to get involved to break X Force 9 up. You people can do that just fine on your own." "What the hell are you talking about?" "Don't you get it?" Wilson wonders, still smiling. "Sure, you people boast of your collective accomplishments and talent, and I'll be the first to concede that some of the talent within your ranks is considerable. But you've also acquired some members that hold a certain... how do I put it... attitude. Sure the names look good on paper, but do you really think you'll be able to trust them indefinitely? I don't think so. Look at you. You're a veteran wrestler with almost no experience managing any team at all, especially one of the size you've put together. You aren't going to be able to control your team members, I'm sure of it. And one by one, they're going to turn on you." For a long moment, both men are silent, as Pete weighs carefully the impact of Wilson's words. Finally Wilson breaks the silence. "I've got a match to prepare for. Good luck on Storm," he adds sarcastically, and he turns on his heel and walks away from Pete, leaving the X Force 9 leader alone with his thoughts.
Guest Tod deKindes Posted August 2, 2002 Report Posted August 2, 2002 Damn. That so makes me wanna turn heel right now.
Guest kelloggs Posted August 3, 2002 Report Posted August 3, 2002 SWERVE~! Tod turns heel...never saw it coming...
Guest AnnieEclectic Posted August 3, 2002 Report Posted August 3, 2002 Oooohhh, can you trust everyone in XF9? is there a rift, a mole, ...moooooole... moleymoleymoleymoleymoley... *cough* sorry. mole. damn. Good promo, sounds like somethings brewing! I'm completely in the dark if there is -Annie
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Posted August 3, 2002 Report Posted August 3, 2002 Very nice promo. Pete finds himself in a precarious position, leading a large group not unlike Wilson's in its diversity...what will he have to do to keep them in check, and keep them focused? Intrigue...
Guest Rabbi_wilson13 Posted August 3, 2002 Report Posted August 3, 2002 Goodness, I don't know how I missed it. LDP, for only writing it once or twice, writes my character nearly perfectly. I love that. And those are things I'd say. And thats how I'd react. And now StableWars just escalated between XF9 and M7. I love it. And Tod, there's always a place...Well, not really, but we could conceivably make one. Come, the dark side awaits....
Guest BA_Baracus Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 PROMO (Stubby P. McWeed); "Don't worry Wilson... ...Creative Control will crush XF9 for you. Mothernature says..."
Guest Rabbi_wilson13 Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 Thanks, Stubbs. It's good to know that while our respective stables and ourselves hate each other, we can agree that crushing lowly face stables is always fun.
