Guest C.H.U.D. Report post Posted August 3, 2002 ......How many of your 700 DVD's are as bad??? I will GLADLY take your doubles. Dames Well, my friend gave me his copy of the Rollerball remake today. I watched it, and even though I like movies that are so bad they are good, this particular film is just so bad I won't be keeping it, even though it was free! I'll use it as trade on an actual good movie. Like Exorcist II.

Guest crandamaniac Report post Posted August 3, 2002 I dunno why, but there are a couple of cheesy Martial Arts Films I really mark for. The first is Only the Strong. It's not oscar-worthy material at all, but for some reason I love to watch it. Stars Marc Dacoscas (sp?) as a Brazillian Martial Arts instructor. The second one is some movie that stars Billy Blanks (of Tae-Bo fame) as a high school janitor who teaches some kid to fight so he can compete in some UFC-style fight. I swear it sounds like the weirdest concept, isn't really that good, but I like it
Guest Big McLargeHuge Report post Posted August 4, 2002 I love Masters of the Universe: The movie and Howard the Duck. I'm also always glued to my tv screen whenever Batman & Robin is on. Arnold is God in that flick. I too love House Arrest AND Blast from the Past. I also liked...get this...X-Men.

Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted August 4, 2002 Chopping Mall... but then, that's not really a "bad" movie, but... best '80s horror relic that NEEDS a U.S. DVD release BAD! My goal in life when I get out of college is to get a loan, license that movie from Mr. Corman himself (if it's not out by then already, it's a got a lot of fans, I'm really surprised he hasn't put it out himself yet... because I'm sure SO many people are buying Escape from Afghanistan...), and put it out on DVD over here. Maybe I could dream extra hard and have enough left to license the commentary track that was recorded in 2000 too. I also really liked Tobe Hooper's Crocodile. I believe a sequel is coming out soon, but Hooper's not a part of it so it won't be the same. Also, I really really liked Romero's recent Bruiser, because I could relate so much with the main character.

Guest J*ingus Report post Posted August 5, 2002 A few of my c0nfessions: Double Team- a movie so damned goofy that it has to be seen to be believed. Superior to the overrated KnockOff, because that movie actually had a couple of decent actors in it to ruin the vibe. Game of Death: dear lord, but this one had me howling, with the filmmakers trying 174 different ways to try and fake the involvement of the late Bruce Lee, and failing spectacularly every time. The last twenty minutes with the real Bruce kicked ass, especially his fight with Kareem Abdul-Jabar. A Better Tomorrow II: the John Woo movie that nobody has seen, and the world is a poorer place for it. The first hour is some of the worst cinema I've ever seen, with incoherent storylines that pop up out of nowhere and die off into obscurity, and some REALLY bad acting, even by Woo's standards. But the last thirty minutes is incredible, with one helluva bravura death scene, and THE Best Shootout Ever. Halloween 4: 2 was overrated, 3 didn't count, 5 was just there, and 6 was terrible, but of the original sequels Part 4 really stood out as trying to be different. It didn't help that they had a director who couldn't effectively film violence if John Carpenter had stuck his hand up his ass and controlled him like a puppet, but the rest of the film was very well done, especially the ending. Dark Angel: The Ascent- I'm an Angela Featherstone mark (she was Sandler's slutty g/f in The Wedding Singer), but she so rarely gets a part that does her abilities justice, which makes this little eurotrash horror flick even more special in my eyes. Half A Loaf Of Kung-Fu: worse than porn in terms of cinematic achievements, but hey, it's Jackie F'n Chan in his very first comedy, so you know it's good, even if it's bad. Tombs of the Blind Dead: a creepy little zombie film which often gets unfairly overlooked. It spawned three sequels, none of which were very good, but most had some camp value. Friday the 13th Part 8- I mark out HARD for Jason Voorhees walking down the streets of New York. SOME old Godzilla movies- there are actually both really good ones (the original, Vs. Ghidra, Vs. the Smog Monster) and ferociously bad ones (Vs. Gigan, Vs. Megalon). All Ed Wood movies- like I even need to explain this one.

I loved the direction that they went...DAMN them for copping out of 4's ending with the whole "Jamie is traumatized" shit. Friday the 13th Part 8 was a travesty. I too marked HARD for Jason walking around in my hometown, but that was only like 15 minutes of the movie! The ending was the worst one of the 9 films I've seen. Haven't seen Jason X yet. Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted August 5, 2002 10 Things I Hate About You is such a good movie... Every time Heath Ledger's character (I forget his name) is talking to Kat, and then looks at Bianca in the pregnant suit, and says "Hey, who knocked up your sister?", I lose it and laugh. I swear it sounds like the weirdest concept, isn't really that good, but I like it Only The Strong kicked ass. I have it. Mark Dacascos rules all...if you want a really good movie with him, I suggest you pick up Drive. The Billy Blanks movie you refer to is Showdown. It was pretty much a 90's rip on The Karate Kid. Blanks is a cop who accidentally kills a kid while breaking up a party. Fast forward some undetermined amount of time, and he's a janitor at a high school. This new kid comes along, and falls for the girlfriend of the resident school dick, who trains at the school taught by the guy whose brother Blanks killed (got all that?). The new kid gets the crap beat out of him, Blanks saves him, and agrees to teach him to fight. Blanks then finds out who it is that trains these kids to fight, and goes after him, resulting in the final fight. I've got some pretty bad taste, and being that I'm a horror and martial arts mark, I've got a few of those "bad to you but good to me" movies to put up here. Oh, and Masters of the Universe, while totally nothing like the cartoon/toys, still kicks ass just 'cuz it's He-Man. Can't Hardly Wait is a great movie. I can see where Dames is coming from, since every "stereotype" in that movie reminded me of someone I went to school with at one point or another. Especially Seth Green's character. Zack's list of "bad movies" he likes: China O'Brien 1 & 2 Kickboxer 1, 2 (haven't seen all of 3, 4 or 5 yet) No Retreat, No Surrender Sleepaway Camp 1, 2, 3 Jack Frost 1,2 The In Crowd BASEketball Grease 2 Revenge of the Nerds 3, 4 (each sequel just brought the series down IMO) Ski School 2 (Had nothing to do with the HILARIOUS original, but I'm a Ski School mark, and I do love it...though continuity is totally out the window here) Hot Dog:The Movie Bride Of Chucky Toxic Avenger 1,2,3 Maniac Cop 1,2,3 Howard The Duck You get the gist...
