Guest Human Fly Report post Posted August 4, 2002 Cael Sanderson isn't a very big guy, so I don't see the WWF giving him any serious consideration. They should use him in the CW division. If they are serious about getting behind it that would be a big step in the right direction.
Guest Mad the Swine Report post Posted August 4, 2002 The vast majority of wrestlers have been "real athletes" at some point or another. Palumbo, Big Show, Nash, and Undertaker all played college hoops. Flair, Bradshaw, Albert, Rock, Nowinski, etc. played collegiate football. And besides, wrestling used to have a huge amount of guys that wrestled in the NFL offseason; Wahoo McDaniel and Ernie Ladd got into wrestling because of the low amount of pay given to linemen. Cael Sanderson was used as potential future example of amateur wrestlers getting in the pro ranks after collegiately wrestling. Of course, Angle did the same. As did Verne Gagne, Danny Hodge, Steve Williams, Chris Taylor, and Jack Brisco to name a few. I would doubt that many of the wrestlers in the ring today grew up with the ultimate dream of being a pro wrestler. I would figure that most had a dream of pro football, if their ultimate dream was of any sport. Example: Ric Flair grew up watching wrestling. But he said he never considered wrestling as a career until he was in college and happened to meet Greg Gagne. It was due to failure at "real" sports that the majority ended up in wrestling, be it an academic failure, injuries, or just not being good enough.
