Jericho: Elevation?

First off, I don't agree that HHH was trying to bury Jericho back in March leading up to WM. This makes no sense because why would HHH want to be involved in such a crappy feud? I mean, the dog shit angle hurt his credibility along with Jericho if you ask me.

I'll explain why Jericho is fucked. There are guys now that are clearly above him in the pecking order. Edge kicked his ass, he is above him now. RVD punked him out cleanly at KOTR and has beaten him damn near every time he's faced him. Losing to Cena doesn't hurt him much since it could be considered an upset.....losing to guys closer to his level is more costly.

Whether or not Triple H was behind Jericho's burial leading up to WM, the end result was still Jericho getting buried and losing any credibility he might have built up as the WWF champion.

Edge and RVD might be getting pushed harder at the moment, but what makes you think they will get any further up the ladder than Jericho was allowed to get. There still seems to be a glass ceiling for any new main event talent. They are allowed to reach a certain level but never get any higher than that. Until Vince changes his mindset, all those guys are in the same boat. And when Vince does change his mind, Edge and RVD both still need to prove they can cut serious main-event promos to get people to want to see a match. Something that Jericho has already proven he can do.

Jericho is too good not to get another shot at the top. Either becuause the WWE politics send Edge, RVD, Lesnar, etc back down the ladder or because Vince finally starts phasing out the Taker's and the Hogan's, Jericho should get another chance on top.

When Jericho first started the "I'm a bigger star than you" feud with Rock, he was crazy over, morso than Rocky himself. Plain and simple.

I thought the whole "Rock is looking past me" thing pretty much reflected the opinion the average fan had of Jericho during his reign, that he really wasn't a big enough star that people bought into his title reign. By my recollection, Jericho's response wasn't so great that it blew people out of the water. It was pretty much where Eddie Guerrero is now, where people boo-urned him, but don't seem to really invest a whole lot of emotion in what he did. He certainely wasn't more over than Rock or Austin, even though both of them put him over on PPV more than once.

I wouldn't consider what either did that great for Jericho, the Rock's job a little better at Royal Rumble to Austin at No Way Out.

Plus Jericho was over looked from the very beginning of his reign. He was champ for what two weeks before HHH returned, then the NWO took up a month, and then the dog poop started. His brief run with RVD they were both mad over then the ridiculousness started and I don't think anyone would have overcome that. BTW Austin, IMO, never really did anything for Jericho. At least Rocky acknowledged Jericho during their feuds. Austin was more along the lines of "When the NWO gets here I will take care of them..oh yeah..Jericho I am going to take your title".
