Guest saturnmark4life Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 I like the idea of turning him heel. I actually thought it would be cool to turn maven heel, say in a submission match when he was holding the face's towel and did an Owen or something. If he was in a tag match with say, edge and picked up a chair to chase off the heels then blasted him with it that would be awesome.
Guest SlowChemical6 Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 Or maybe it's his lame-ass promos. Or his goofy Power Ranger gear. Or the fact that he's from Boston and looks exactly like the bastard son of ex-Celtics player Eric Montross. FUCK CENA.
Guest evenflowDDT Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 Yea, I just don't get what's so great about Cena. His promos are pretty lame, and he does need some serious styling tips from Rico, or somebody... That'd be funny, if Rico was somehow split from B&C but teamed up with Cena because Cena would always mess up his carefully-done-up style during a match, and with Rico as his partner he'd make sure that never happens.
Guest thebigjig Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 The only problem with John Cena is that some so called smarks are just being too damn cynical ... you won't give the guy a chance, and it's pathetic. He's been in the WWE like two months? Come on! Give me an f'ing break! I think this falls into the "some smarks will never be happy" category. The WWE actually starts to *gasp* PUSH new stars, and it still isn't good enough. Give the guy at LEAST 6 months before you start judging his work to such extremes (the next Val Venis? Suuuuuure). My God, has it ever occured to some of you that it may take a while for someone to get comfortable with performing in front of a huge live audience... get their groove on so to speak? If anything, blame the WWE for pushing rookies... but then of course if you do that, then you're going to have to stop bitching about creating new stars. So why bother in any case? Just sit back and enjoy the show.

Just sit back and enjoy the show. Its not cynicism We want the wrestlers who are OVER with the crowd to be pushed, and not some "upshot rookie" who has no heat. A rookie should not get multiple wins against the first ever Undisputed Champion. PERIOD. Nobody within 5 months of joining the company should be getting the World Title, especially in a victory over possibly the most over Face in WWE history PERIOD. Push the midcard to the main event, dont push the rookies PAST the midcard to the main event. Simple. I want the guys I've learned to like to have their shot, not some green bastard who still looks nervous infront of the crowd and on the microphone to be winning the biggest prize in the game. RVD has impressed people, RVD is over, so PUSH him Lesnar is not over, he's nervous, and impressed few. WORK ON HIS CHARACTER Angle has impressed FAR more, he's one of the most over heels in the company, so PUSH HIM John Cena looks nervous, isnt good on the microphone yet. WORK ON HIS CHARACTER. Pushing young talent and pushing people who are NOT ready are two completely different things, and me saying I dont want cena pushed doesnt mean I want HHH Taker and Hogan to be the top 3 in the company.
Guest thebigjig Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 Yeah but have you ever thought that this "push" that Cena is getting is just an introductory push to get him established with the fans? The WWE did the same thing with Chris Benoit when they put him head to head with the Rock for the title a few months after he debuted. I agree, they need to work on his character, but I think all of this "FUCK JOHN CENA" and "I HATE JOHN CENA, THE GREEN BASTARD" is PATHETIC. And that my friend, is cynicism. As for Brock, I couldn't agree more. I think he needs more work, but his feud with the Rock is working. I am enjoying it so far, and I think if they keep it up, he'll get heat. Maybe not "world champion" heat, but a good reaction none the less
Guest Trivia247 Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 He's got like a Blue thunder Like Belly to back into a Side Slam Finisher going on hmm.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted August 5, 2002 Report Posted August 5, 2002 Val Venis isn't that bad, imo. Give him a new character, yes..but the guy CAN work.

If you can only get IC Championship heat, well, you should be wrestling for the IC strap.

Guest SlowChemical6 Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 I'm keeping an open mind as far as John Cena goes. But as of right now, I can't stand his promos. As far as his ring work...no complaints. He's pretty damn good for a rookie.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 Here's the deal Funaki is better than John Cena. Funaki has worked harder than John Cena and is better than John Cena. Until Cena gets better than Funaki, or until Funaki gets a better or even equal push to John Cena, the 'cynicism' will be warranted.
Guest The Czech Republic Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 How about Funaki, Tajiri, and Mike Awesome as the New Kaientai with Awesome as the gai-jin?
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted August 6, 2002 Report Posted August 6, 2002 I would rather see Funaki as a japanese scientist from the future who came back to stop the evil Brock Lesnar before his reign of terror could destroy us all. He arrived too early and had to wait out his days in a hybrid fighting organization and a small time, but very popular independant in Japan before he could come to America. However, he did not count on the EVIL Vince Mcmahon and his descrimination towards minorities, and especially the Japanese. So Kaientai left and he is our last hope... So he puts together a rag-tag group of misfits in order to fight the good fight, but most of the superstars don't take him seriously and write it off as a jobber-insanity, but there are a few who believe him. Then you could have Awesome and Tajiri join him and form KDX2K2. You know that would rock.

That way the "real heel" Rico can stay with Billy & Chuck, but he can put on make-up for a short segment every show to become... Robo-Rico! The secret weapon of KDX2K2. Seriously, I just hate the guy's outfits. Either make them so outlandishly tacky that you have to look (see Flamingo, Scotty and Jericho, Chris) or make them cool (see Van Dam, Rob or Other Wrestler, Any).
