I'm sure it could be a good TV match, but a waste of both at the ppv. Surely rey should get a CW title match? And Kurt...just, anything but hogan.

It should be a great match. Angle doesn't have the rudoness and experience of an Eddie, but he can still keep up with Rey. I say they bring it down to the mat for fifteen, and Rey actually starts to build a match from there.

Since when is Edge involved in an IC title match? Oh... well, it does have ***SPOILERS*** at the top, so that's my own fault. Anyway... I still don't see why a Rey/Angle match-up would be so bad. I also don't see how it doesn't benefit anyone, since it really doesn't matter if Angle's face or not because at the end of the year he's leaving to train for the Olympics anyway. Plus, how does one loss prevent a face turn? The whole point of turns is they can be provoked by anything... that's the idea behind SHOCKING SWERVES~!

He's not. I just figure that's where they will go since that's the most logical reason to move the intercontinental championship to SmackDown, so Edge can hold it while he regains momentum.

The only logical thing I could see happening in this situation is the WWE playing on the smark's comments about the CW always playing second fiddle, when they pout on better matches. You have Angle and Rey go at it for 20 minutes and a DQ or even a draw finish the match. Rey is anxious for his rematch with Angle, but Steph or someone hotshots Rey into CW title shots and CW matches to keep him away from Angle, the heavyweight, almost in a desparate attempt to keep Angle from possibly losing to a cruiserweight. Could help all of them try to bust out of their own little glass ceiling and mesh with the rest of the talent.

First thought: Angle may have weighed 220 when he first entered the WWE, but he has bulked up a LOT since then. If you can find some of the pictures from when he first debuted, you'll notice that he's a lot slimmer, just altogether smaller. I'd say he's put on at least 20 pounds since then.

 

In any case: it'd be a good match, but I think Eddie/Rey would be the better choice. Angle can work with anyone, but I think Eddie and Rey would just click together...both wrestle fast, wild styles.

 

Of course, I never order PPVs, so no biggie here. Since it's Summerslam, I really wouldn't be too surprised if they set up some "cross-promotional" matches. RVD/Angle, RVD/Benoit....something along those lines.

Y'know maybe i'm nuts, but that joke about angle winning the cw title could have worked when he was still trying to get over.

 

He could win it and just be this ultra-dick because he's bigger than the rest of them yet within the cruiserweight range and could beat everyone until mysterio finally beats him on ppv or whatever, giving him a big push.

 

But of course, i suppose that wouldn't work now because angle's too above something like that yet that's all he's done this year, put people beneath him over, that's what hunter & hogan should have been doing.(Hogan has somewhat).
