CC'95 finals

I just watched the CC'95 finals between Misawa and Taue. Damn good match. I knew it would be coming in the mail so I watched CC'95 parts 1-3 (since part 4 is mythological) and then watched the finals. Just awesome. I personally rate it at five stars. Maybe that's just because I saw the other carnival matches and saw how they told a magnificent story. I've seen it rated lower by others. Not much lower, but lower.

 

My question is what is your rating for this classic and why?

I just might. I actually plan on reviewing NOAH's February Budokan Hall show (Kobashi's Return!) Get this goodhelmet, it's a show I actually like. After that show I will probrably do a one match review of CC'95.

Well, nice to hear that you enjoyed it. Hopefully you saw Taue's work improve leaps and bounds here. I personally would rate the Final at ****3/4 (although I had it at 5* on first viewing).

I've had that happen to me before where I watched a match for the first time and felt it was *****'s, and then tweak it a smidge upon second viewing. Same goes for the flip side of the coin where I thought something was God-awful and then warmed up to it after the second viewing. This match won't waver too far off from *****'s though. Taue was brilliant in his heel work like going after Misawa's face which was still healing after Misawa's canival match vs Kawada. Taue stealing Misawa's crossface move and standing on his face was good shit as well.

I'm watching CC 1994 at the moment and I think I can safely say that Taue sucks at this point. The only match I've found entertaining so far is his six man tag w/Kawada and Fuchi vs Baba, Misawa, and Hansen.

 

Seeing how bad he is on this tape makes me look forward to seeing how much he's improved for the 1995 CC which I plan on watching when I finish the '94 CC.

 

Just a sidenote here. Is the enterence music dubbed over in all the AJ CC comerical tapes or is it just for 1994?

Just keep watching. Spring 1995 was his Genesis, remember.

 

Entrance music is dubbed over (as well as shitty announcing) in the videos NOT produced by VAP.

I have most of the CC'93 on tape from a bunch of All Japan tv and Taue actually had good matches against Misawa and Kawada. The rest was kind of shitty though.

As far as I can tell, the videos not released by Vap have the dubbed music.

Did VAP distribute the 1995 CC? I asked a guy about the 4th part and he said he didn't have it but he DID have every AJPW tape distributed by VAP. So if 1995 CC was then part 4 doesn't exist, also I hope I don't have to listen to more of that overdubbed SHIT they call music.

1. No, VAP didn't distribute the 1995 CC tapes. They did distribute the Finals though.

 

2. There is NO part 4. Just 1-3, and the Finals. The complete Kobashi-Kawada aired on a TV special.
