Guest Ravenbomb Posted August 8, 2002 Report Posted August 8, 2002 In your opinion, who is the most average wrestler in terms of talent, charisma, etc. ? I'm not sure, but Christian, D-Lo Brown, and American Dragon spring to mind
Guest ShooterJay Posted August 8, 2002 Report Posted August 8, 2002 Am. Dragon has been in several indy MOTYCs, so he's definitely not "average." D'Lo is what I'd call the most "Above Average" wrestler ever, he's got good, but not great promo skills, and has been in many ***+ matches in his career. Christian is a very good promo guy, and his involvement in TLC disqualifies him. My vote for "most average" currently would have to Chuck Palumbo. To go a little further back in the past, I'd say Tito Santana or Rick Martel.
Guest saturnmark4life Posted August 8, 2002 Report Posted August 8, 2002 chuck has literally about 2 moves and is probably my least favourite wrestler right now. Christian is god D-Lo was above average, not sure about now Jeff Jarrett bores the hell out of me Test Albert Val Venis Shane bastard Douglas all these guys are very, very average. Though i kinda like albert, sometimes.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted August 8, 2002 Report Posted August 8, 2002 Christian. The guy is nothing more than cheap heat and restholds.
Guest Si82 Posted August 8, 2002 Report Posted August 8, 2002 Randy Orton, I don't care what certain memebers of his family might say.
Guest the incomparable Posted August 8, 2002 Report Posted August 8, 2002 I heard that John Cena was impressive in OVW but he seems blah in the WWF. I think that some wrestlers seem average due to a lack of proper charachter development.
Guest dpac Posted August 8, 2002 Report Posted August 8, 2002 as far as skills in the ring go billy gunn my vote
Guest TheDames7 Posted August 8, 2002 Report Posted August 8, 2002 Defenitely Val Venis.....that guy is bland and nothing in his arsenal makes me go "ooh" Dames
Guest HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted August 8, 2002 Report Posted August 8, 2002 Ravenbomb, please explain to me how AmDrag is average? I mean....no way...AmDrag isnt even NEAR average.
Guest The Electrifyer Posted August 8, 2002 Report Posted August 8, 2002 I think Hardcore Holly's pretty average. His "Super Heavyweight" gimmick was pretty funny, but other than that, he has had nothing special.
Guest meanmaisch Posted August 8, 2002 Report Posted August 8, 2002 D-Von has been really average recently
Guest meanmaisch Posted August 8, 2002 Report Posted August 8, 2002 I can't believe I wasted my 100th post on D-Von. I'm very ashamed of myself.
Guest Ravenbomb Posted August 8, 2002 Report Posted August 8, 2002 I haven't seen too many of his matches from Am Dragon. What I've seen from him hasn't impressed me too much. I've heard he's good, so I'll track down more stuff from him, and if I see something that makes him above-average, I'll come to this thread and take back what I said about him being average
Guest eiker_ir Posted August 8, 2002 Report Posted August 8, 2002 i do think american dragon has an avergae Look but he Definitly isn't and average wrestler, his matches with Low Ki and Chris Daniels in Ring of Honor are amazing.......
Guest Will Scarlet Posted August 8, 2002 Report Posted August 8, 2002 I will say Hardcore Holly, even if he seems to be more above average, if unspectacular, in a lot of areas, instead of just average.
Guest Redhawk Posted August 9, 2002 Report Posted August 9, 2002 Jeff Jarrett and Christian both stand out to me due to their promos, although they may contain several instances of cheap heat. But remember, cheap heat is better than no heat. With that in mind, the most average wrestlers to me are... -- Randy Orton (he brings NOTHING to the table other than legacy...which isn't even all that great of a legacy. It's not like he's Harley Race's son or anything.) -- Crash Holly -- Hardcore Holly (although Tough Enough did a great deal for him) -- John Cena (get a personality already) -- The Big Valbowski (Val Venis was cool...Valbowski is just boring) -- Faarooq (without Bradshaw, he only stands out for being one of the, like, four Black guys in WWE)
Guest kingkamala Posted August 9, 2002 Report Posted August 9, 2002 Randy Orton I mean good god kid get some charisma or a fake cast for your arm B) , other then that I'd say Randy Orton's very slightly above average as a wrestler hell he had a decent match with Taker a few months back. But then again The Rock had no charisma when he started look where he is now and how can Randy Orton not be a success when he has Barry O has his uncle
Guest Austin3164life Posted August 9, 2002 Report Posted August 9, 2002 I think that The Rock is an average (slightly above) wrestler. His charisma has been fundamental to his career's success. Other than that, I would have to say Val Venis and Hardcore Holly are average. They're not bad wrestlers, they're solid, but nothing makes them stand out and go above average.
Guest Slingshot Suplex Posted August 9, 2002 Report Posted August 9, 2002 I vote with bps ...Edge.Doesn't have a standout look, standout style, standout charisma but he's solid. Tito Santana might be the defining poster boy though.
Guest saturnmark4life Posted August 9, 2002 Report Posted August 9, 2002 I think that The Rock is an average (slightly above) wrestler. His charisma has been fundamental to his career's success. I think you could argue rock from a workrate standpoint, but his workrate isn't above or below that of any wwe main eventer. And charisma definitely contributes to how good a worker you are. The reason guys like holly and venis are average is that their charisma doesn't stand out.
Guest Ravenbomb Posted September 8, 2002 Report Posted September 8, 2002 This is the part where I eat my words about American Dragon. I saw the triple threat match with him, Daniels and Low-Ki from ROH, and needless to say, it RULED~! I'd give it like ****1/4 or so, only because Daniels vs. Low-Ki was way better
Guest TheRockIsTheEuropeanChampion Posted September 8, 2002 Report Posted September 8, 2002 I must see this.. American Dragon.. you speak of. The most average wrestler I can think of is Brad Armstrong. Consider it.
Guest Anglesault Posted September 8, 2002 Report Posted September 8, 2002 Edge. There is nothing about him overwhelmingly bad, but nothing, nothing, NOTHING at all good about him (Which is why I hate him)
Guest TheRockIsTheEuropeanChampion Posted September 8, 2002 Report Posted September 8, 2002 Edge is the Brad Armstrong of today. EDIT: Damn, that was my 900th post! I wasted it on Edge.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted September 8, 2002 Report Posted September 8, 2002 Most average? Brock Lesnar. He's just yet another Vanilla Hoss . There's nothing "special" about the guy. His matches aren't really great, he dosen't pop or excite the crowd, and he's goofy looking. Bob Holly. Nothing about him is very..exciting. He's bland. Val Venis I can stand, because he's a better wrestler than a lot of the midcarders. Besides, I mark for the Blue Thunder bomb and the Fisherman's Suplex.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted September 8, 2002 Report Posted September 8, 2002 First thought that came to mind for Smackdown -- Hardcore Holly... First thought for Raw -- Justin Credible
