Guest New World Order of Wrestling Report post Posted September 27, 2002 Is Mysterio actually in the game? I've heard yes and no, but does anyone know the real scoop? My hope is for Rey and Chavo to be in. I have also heard some rumblings about a create-a-move feature in the game. That would just plain rule.

Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted September 29, 2002 I don't understand why everyone is sitting around and saying "GOOD GOD" over cinematic scenes, and not particularly groundbreaking ones (although I guess wrestling games never do have a tremendous budget or anything) It will still play like SmackDown, guys. No shit. I already made the mistake of getting excited over the pictures from the first Smackdown games. I sure as hell ain't falling for it again.
Guest CED Ordonez Report post Posted October 1, 2002 This still begs the question: Where the hell is my updated No Mercy engine? I'm seriously thinking we just need to email bomb the crap out of THQ and demand they bring back the NM style of control and gameplay.

I'm seriously thinking we just need to email bomb the crap out of THQ and demand they bring back the NM style of control and gameplay. Actually, there probably will be an updated No Mercy engine, but it won't be in a game with a WWE license. Def Jam Wrestling, a game published by EA BIG (of SSX Tricky fame) and starring rappers like Ludacris and Method Man getting in the ring, is being developed by AKI, who made No Mercy and WM2000. Guest Pop Culture God Report post Posted October 6, 2002 BUMP~! Bring the pics. Just Bring Them! or you can Shut Your Mouth, cause you obviously don't Know Your Role. SmackDown Fan 4 Life. Guest chirs3 Report post Posted October 7, 2002 No-selling aside, what is everyone's problem with Smackdown? Or is that the only reason it gets so much hate? Personally, I found Smackdown! 2 so much fun I didn't notice/care about the no-selling too often.
Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted October 7, 2002 I think part of the problem with SmackDown is that it doesn't matter how often you play it. Someone can just walk up to a controller for the first time, mash away at the controller, and has a good chance of kicking your ass. SD2 was better than SD3 though. Guest Jericholic82 Report post Posted October 7, 2002 whats up with all those cutsceens mimimicking major wwe storylines from this year, are they from the info, or from during the game during championship mode maybe? ?
Guest Mr. Pink Report post Posted October 8, 2002 STACY AS THE DUCHESS OF DUDLEYVILLE!! YES!!! Prepare to see "WWE Champion Mr. Pink w/ Stacy Keibler" come September 12th! Can you edit wrestlers appearance? Cuz If I want Angle as part of the nWo, I dont want him wearing red white and blue, yah know?
Guest Perfect_Bo Report post Posted October 8, 2002 Jobber of the week, I think that 'isnt' the problem about smackdown...I mean, I, who didnt play smackdown 1 and 2, and my cousin had it...I played it for the first time and the enjoyment of me almost beatin him caused me to play again and again and again. the joy of competition made me want to get this game... The no selling, sometimes it bothered me...but that makes the match go longer. When I played with my cousins and I hit my finisher and he no sells I be like (WHAT!) and he be like (YEAH, I EAT THOSE), when he hits his finisher, I say the same thin when I no sell... When I hit my finisher over again...and I pin him, I be like (Stay down, stay down) he be like (Kick out like before, kick out like before.) it's sooo much fun. Well, thats my two cents.. Bo
Guest chirs3 Report post Posted October 8, 2002 I agree with Bo - it can get annoying, but it adds so much more unpredictability to the match. I might get pissed that I can't pin Funaki after two Angle Slams, but I'd rather that then just KNOW he's down when I hit one.
Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted October 8, 2002 i don't understand the no-selling point. when i play smackdown3, the finisher will always end it. Unless you do it 2 minutes in. hell, i'm not a gamer really and i'm a lifelong smackdown devotee. diff'rent strokes n all.
Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted October 9, 2002 Totally agreed. The no-selling pisses people off who play modes where they have a lot of people to beat in a row and need to do it fast. Using a finisher after 3 minutes gets no sold and they have to build it all the way back up. It can get under your skin. But the selling after moves and the overall funfactor of the multiplayer draws me in. Hell in a Cell is a different case, as that is just plain ridiculous, but to avoid that, stop throwing your opponents off the cage or to the ring from the top in every match, because in actuality that wouldn't happen. You are defeating your own purpose of realism by doing that. Smackdown has been fun for me since its first release (although I hated 3) and the crispness and presentation of this game is sure to be magnificent. I'm buying a PS2 soon to get ready for this release and I can't wait to start anhiliating opponents with Brock Lesnar.
Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted October 9, 2002 maybe it's just cos i'm a dork, but the whole lifespan of the smackdown games to me is building the match and not hitting your finisher after 3 mins, having a decent length match. Your done with a wrestling game in a week if you just squash the cpu.
Guest art_vandelay Report post Posted October 12, 2002 When I played SD2 (I haven't played SD3), I try to give the opponent an equal amount of offense to simulate a real match. It's actually a lot of fun especially if you've got all the reversals timed. Although I can NEVER forgive THQ/Yuke's for the shittiest and most tedious Season Mode ever created in SD2. Guest Mr. Pink Report post Posted October 13, 2002 Although I can NEVER forgive THQ/Yuke's for the shittiest and most tedious Season Mode ever created in SD2. Wow...I guess you HAVEN'T played SmackDown
Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted October 13, 2002 oh c'mon, both season modes are a bit lame but the real joy of wrestling gmaes is the create a wrestler and multiplayer options. and yes, satrunmark4life is a smackdownmark4life. sm3's season mode certainly better than sm2 though...
Guest JHawk Report post Posted October 13, 2002 sm3's season mode certainly better than sm2 though... Uh...no. I didn't necessarily like the tedium of all the simulating in SD2, but I liked that fact that you went through a regular calendar. I despised trying to be the hardcore champion with my CAW in SD3 and everytime defending in a fatal four way. Plus I liked that the season mode could be multiplayer so that two CAWs could be controlled by both creators and you could shoot for the tag titles. 3's general idea of having more control over the character was fine, but after a week I'd already exhausted the entire story mode. A combination of 2 and 3's story modes would probably be the best bet.
