Instead of just pressing a particular button on the controller, you can hold the button and press one of four directions on the analog stick to perform a different counter. Moreover, not only can you counter basic holds, punches, and kicks, but you can also counter finishers. In fact, you can even perform another wrestler's finisher, so theoretically Hulk Hogan could perform a "rock bottom" during a match with The Rock.

*Awaits the Hurricane Pedigree, Hurricane Stunner, and, more ridiculously, the Linda McMahon X-Factor!*

I'm now slightly more geeked about this release. All I need is somebody to give me the No Mercy grapple system and I'll finally be a happy camper with the Smackdown series.

Brock and HHH on the cover, but no RVD?

Did you notice Jericho and Kurt were on there too?

Yeah. Because they like people who can sell.

Well, Here's some great news my friend E-Mail me today:

The producer for WWE Smackdown: Shut Your Mouth is not Mr.Sanders, it's Jim Flaherty! Whoever he is. GO JIM!

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's some more info:

- Weapon grapple moves use up a Smackdown. You need to press L1 in front of a groggy opponent while holding a weapon.

- Also these are the finisher counters that they saw and what the counters did.

Rock Bottom - Elbows to the side of the head, then a gut punch.

Pedigree - Opponent frees the arms, then hits a back body drop.

F-Five - Opponent knees Brocks ribs before he can scoop them onto his shoulders.

- Wrestlers don't stay down any longer though the ref does.

- The People's Elbow is the same as in JBI. No different animations.

- And in the demo, these were the available wrestlers and stuff.

Wrestlers

Brock

Rock

HHH

RVD

Hogan

Regal

Arenas

Insurrextion

Modes

Single (no manager)

Tag (Regular)

No. of Players

1-4

- Create-A-PPV is in

- You can defend titles in Exhibition!

- Wrestlers don't kick out after the 3 count.

- Two versions of the Pedigree, the normal one and another one where he lets the arms go half way in the air. Kinda like the one he did to HBK.

- RVD has two versions of the Flog Splash. One with pin, one without.

- Press R1 to get weapons from under the ring.

- Reversal system is indeed of the guessing kind. You'll need to press Square with the D-Pad and depending on whether the D-Pad you pressed is the same as what your opponent pressed to do his move, your wrestler will reverse it or not. Same goes with reversing finishers. You'll need to press L1 on it's own or with a D-Pad depending on what your opponent does to counter them.

YES!!!!!!!!!!! THE SUPER-SAFE PEDIGREE OF DOOM IS IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some more news:

- Weapon grapples are will not take up a Smackdown. So far RVD's VanDaminator is RVD's third finisher. Others will not take up a Smackdown.

- Camera angles will change now even when the move is done outside the ring, unlike JBI where the camera angle only changed when you're in the ring

- Press R1 to remove turnbuckle pad. When you whip them into it, instead of sitting in the corner. They will crash into the exposed turnbuckle and drop in pain.

- It seems like every game wants 'Bullet Time'. When L1 is pressed to do a finisher, the game will pause, but the wrestlers will stay visible. The crowd and everything else around the wrestlers will become blurred. The camera will then start to move around while the action is still paused. After the camera has rotated through 360°, the screen un-blurs and the finisher continues. This was impressive, especially on the Five Star Frog Splash and the Pedigree.

- Outros have been added in the game. The outros basically show the winner(s) walking back up the ramp, while the crowd are cheering. The next scene is one of the loser(s) lying in the ring or on the outside while sometimes, the loser will be standing up shouting towards the winner. The third and final scene of the outros shows the winner(s) standing at the top of the stage cheering, and then walking backstage.

- The stage is much higher than in previous SD games. In real-life, the stage is around 10ft, well, in this game, the stage looked to be around 7 or 8 foot, which is an improvement and could always be changed for the final version.

- One punch will knock out the referee and the referee will stay down for up to 20 seconds. Allowing for your team mate to come out.

- Along with being able to expose a turnbuckle, new moves such as the catapult into it have also been added, again, giving a realistic feel to the game. Also, the ring posts are now interactive. If you whip an opponent towards it, they will hit it and then become dazed; allowing further moves to take place.

YES!!!!!!!!!! BULLET TIME IS IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me: HERE IT COMES, THE HOGAN LEGDROP~!!!!!!

My buddy: Dude...turn Bullet Time off...this slow shit is annoying

Me: Uh...its not on man.

So so far, the game looks very good, and looks like to be a F'N classic.

And so far, there's not no new pics.

you can add all of that in, but if the gameplay is not up to par, than its a big waste :)

Jesus! If they fixed the problem with wrestlers getting straight up from standard moves and especially from finishers I would be a happy man. Aside from that this game looks to kick ass. Rey Mysterio and all the correct entrance music. YES!!!!!!

Yea... sorting through IGN's movies, I saw Kidman pop right up from a Sweet Chin Music.

I suppose we'll be seeing the return of "FUCK! That was the FOURTH Angle Slam! STAY DOWN, FUNAKI!"

Hopefully Kanyon, Rhyno, Chavo Jr, Shannon Moore and Funaki found their way in. The last two are a long shot though.

Um...I'm confused.

Bad news?

It's only bad news if the gameplay still sucks ass.

Delays in video games usually mean they're trying to get it right (in this case, they're probably accounting for the loss of the European and Hardcore Titles and the return of the "World Title").

you can have all the fancy gimmicks and all, but I want to control a wrestling match, and not have to worry about no selling
