Guest The Vanilla Midget Posted August 10, 2002 Report Posted August 10, 2002 hey guys, i just got back from the wwe show here in melbourne, and i thought i would give you some quick results, etc... i will write up a full report tomorrow night. Stephanie interview: nobody cared, brock came out... nobody cared. more on this tomorrow Rikishi d Rico in a kiss my ass match (pinfall/samoan drop) - shit match to pop the crowd... failed at that. Mark Henry/Randy Orton d D-von/Batista (pinfall/powerslam) - shittier match, nobody cared and well, bleh Jamie Knoble d Hurricane (pinfall/rollup w/ foot on ropes (iirc)) - fun match, woke the crowd up after the earlier shit... crowd really got into it. Hardcore holly/chavo guerrero w/ maven d billy/chuck w/ rico - shit match, B&C stalled for like 5 mins at start, killed all heat from previous match, went about 10 mins too long. Kurt Angle d Test (pinfall/angle slam) - very nice match, with some good wrestling from both guys (shockingly). prematch interview from test... angle was over pretty huge as a face here. intermission Lance Storm/Christian d Rey Misterio/Billy Kidman (pinfall/beltshot) - very fast and good match... again more tomorrow Edge d Chris Jericho (pinfall/cant remember ) - jericho cut a great promo prematch and both had a good match... much more tomorrow Torrie Wilson d Stacy Keibler in a B&P match - nidia interfered, had really very little heat considering what they were following... just filler Rock d HHH & Brock Lesnar (pinfall/rock bottom on hhh) - shitty match, but i'll talk more tomorrow. overall, it was a decent show to be live at, tho i dont imagine it would hold up too well on tv/tape/dvd. fun to be there live for tho, and since it was my first ever wwf event, it was a major markout. again, look for a full report of my night tomorrow.
Guest bob_barron Posted August 10, 2002 Report Posted August 10, 2002 Angle v. Test?? I'm glad Anglesault took a break from posting here
Guest The Vanilla Midget Posted August 10, 2002 Report Posted August 10, 2002 it was a very nice match... test tried hard and there was some cool psychology in the finish... but anyway, i have to be at work in 6 hrs so i need to sleep... more tomorrow evening.
Guest The Superstar Posted August 10, 2002 Report Posted August 10, 2002 AGH. Jericho even jobs overseas!
Guest chirs3 Posted August 10, 2002 Report Posted August 10, 2002 I suppose we should be happy that Angle beat Test, considering his recent track record... AGH. Jericho even jobs overseas! I think he's the first cross-brand jobber.
Guest The Superstar Posted August 10, 2002 Report Posted August 10, 2002 Yeah, and even before he jumped, he jobbed to RVD at KOTR!
Guest HartFan86 Posted August 10, 2002 Report Posted August 10, 2002 I can't wait til it comes out on DVD. Sounds good.
Guest kane3212321 Posted August 11, 2002 Report Posted August 11, 2002 The Jericho Edge match finished with Jericho going for the Walls and Edge cradling him for the three
Guest evenflowDDT Posted August 11, 2002 Report Posted August 11, 2002 I can't wait til it comes out on DVD. Sounds good. So, did they tape the show or not? I've heard both.
Guest The Vanilla Midget Posted August 11, 2002 Report Posted August 11, 2002 there were cameras there, im not sure whether they were purely for the house crowd who didnt have great seats or for a dvd taping. but really, i dont know how well this card would hold up to a second viewing, since there was really a lot of crap mixed in with some good matches. and i dont really mind jericho jobbing if its in (at least what appeared to be) a decent match.
Guest Ram Posted August 11, 2002 Report Posted August 11, 2002 So, Angle goes against an UnAmerican? Hopefully, this isn't a sign of things to come. I'd rather him get over by his own talents, rather than some silly country pride fad. Ungh.
Guest Bloodice Posted August 11, 2002 Report Posted August 11, 2002 I wasn't there so I can't speak but i was talking with a friend who was there and he said that overall it was a great card. He said aside of rock vs hhh vs lesner wich disappointed him that he was really into angle vs test and said that quite a bit of people were I think that if thats the case i'd love to see it as right now angle going face could be a great thing for the wwe
Guest Respect The 'Taker Posted August 11, 2002 Report Posted August 11, 2002 I might get a beating for this but...after attending both WWF & WCW Australian tours...I'd have to say that i had far more fun at the WCW show in Brisbane. But if Triple H had been flown in by Helicopter to land on Chris Jericho...well then maybe i'd reconsider my judgement... This has been the Taker Mark
