Guest BigTim2002 Report post Posted August 12, 2002 Who can break that goddamn GLASS CEILING OF DOOM hanging over 90% of the roster right now? You see RAW? Mister Levesque basically took over the show with the whole "WHO BEAT UP SHAWN?" thing. So for that reason, Jericho/RVD was kinda nothing. Benoit...sure he's doing great...but when does HE get a shot at Rocky or Brocky (when he wins)? Or Jericho, with his great promo skills, as HHH interrupts. Guys, WHO can do it? I truly wish that all the guys being held down went out during a HHH match and kicked his ass, out of storyline, context, whatever, cuz his politics bullshit is ruing the sport. Thoughts, please... Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted August 12, 2002 And the ceiling regenerates pulling Angle, Benoit, and Jericho back to the Upper Midcard.

Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted August 12, 2002 I'd like to see Chris Benoit do a diving headbutt right thru it...but who knows.
Guest Si82 Report post Posted August 12, 2002 It's gotta be Booker T... SUCKA!!! Seriously he was the only who backtalked Triple H on Raw last week that has to count for something surely? Oh, and he's a great talent in the ring and has a great catchphrase too!
Guest Chuck Woolery Report post Posted August 12, 2002 I noticed that... when Triple H told Jericho he didn't have the balls to attack someone in the parking lot, I wanted Chris to shoot back that "Yeah, and it doesn't take balls to hire a fat Samoan to run down your arch-nemesis either, ASSCLOWN!" That would've been so sweet. - Mike Van Siclen.

Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted August 12, 2002 Sooner or later, they're going to HAVE to let RVD and Booker T. "break on through".

Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted August 12, 2002 RVD can't break through if he's curtain jerking so the main eventers don't have to work hard to pop the crowd after him.
Guest converge241 Report post Posted August 12, 2002 its not going to be "broken" until Vince finally realizes he needs to do it i.e when its too late
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted August 12, 2002 He did it quick enough last time, and that time he had HBK, HHH, and Bret telling him not to.
Guest RickyChosyu Report post Posted August 12, 2002 I dunno, the last time Vince didn't really break it himself, more like Austin jut broke himself while Shawn was out with his "injury." So, I would say that once HHH gets injurred again, and baring the return of Kevin Nash, I think it might go down then. As an aside, what's Kurt's relations ship with the ceiling, anyway? It seems that, for Kurt, it's a stretchy, plastic ceiling, because while Kurt is sometimes booker in Main Event matches on Pay Per View, he seldome stays there for long and is back working mid-card in no time. I mean, if anything, he's just a Jobber to the Stars. Oh wait, I think I just answered my own question, there...

Guest the pinjockey Report post Posted August 12, 2002 There is a difference between earning your way up and breaking through the glass ceiling as opposed to having a helicopter fly over it and just drop you off instead.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted August 12, 2002 In the monthes after SS 97, Vince attempted to elevate three people to Shawn's level: Shamrock: Didn't work. Just didn't have the charisma to be that high in the card. Owen Hart: Didn't work. Neither Shawn nor Austin were willing to work with him for personal reasons, and since UT was feuding with Kane, there was no way to get into the ME. Steve Austin: Worked. He let Austin have the title shot at WM. He and Michaels did the rest.
Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted August 12, 2002 Well Vince has the power to do it, and he can do it anytime, but just telling any influence to shut the hell up. Maybe if business keeps going this rough for an extended amount of time, or if any competition EVER arises on TV, then Vince will have to work faster to push people that are actually over, instead of experiementing with who VINCE likes best. Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted August 12, 2002 Brock is going to bust right through but cut himslef on the way there and have to go back down. Angle and probably someone like Goldberg will advance and if you think HHH never jobs..... just wait.
Guest y2jailbait Report post Posted August 12, 2002 It better be Booker, or well be talking about that WWF business collapse for the nest couple of years. He's a marketable guy, probably a little bit more marketable than RVD, but the combination of both can be the next Austin/Rock, but jackasses like Triple H are the Bret Harts who cant seem to get the fuck outta the way. I fuckin hate it!
Guest thebigjig Report post Posted August 12, 2002 There is a difference between earning your way up and breaking through the glass ceiling as opposed to having a helicopter fly over it and just drop you off instead. Does this have any relation to "paying your dues"? Because most here believe that having to do that is complete bullshit... unless it's someone new that they don't like, like Brock and Cena, then it's perfectly justifiable. Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted August 12, 2002 If you think HHH is the only reason WWE's product is down, you are surely mistaken. Even if HHH were to disappear from the face of the earth today, WWE would still be in the shitter. It has been in the shitter even before HHH injured himself. It started with WWE turning their top draw (Austin) into a heel and the problems snowballed from there. HHH came back and didn't help matters. Now if HHH had never come back until...say....March or April of this year, things would still suck from a business standpoint. Yeah, you would've had the blowoff from the January program with Jericho/RVD, but business was on the downward trend and that particular feud was probrably not going to save business. But then again, neither did bringing back the nwo. For Smarks (a lot of you, not all of you) things seemed hunky dory because they were getting their fill of RVD and one of their darlings, Jericho, was on top. Angle was getting buried by Austin, but that was forgiveable because it was Austin. Problem was, and you can look back at the numbers if you wish, things were spiralling downhill. Don't get me wrong, I was enjoying seeing RVD/Jericho and a lot of the stuff going on around Dec/Jan, but business wise the product still sucked. HHH then came along and did nothing but pop one or two ratings and brought with him a bad workrate and penchant for making Jericho look really bad. My bottom line is you can scream all you want about HHH/glass ceilings and shit, but things were fucked up before he left and things have not recovered due to a shitload of bad booking decisions made be Stephanie AND (and is stressed because Vince was here for this too) Vince. Guest converge241 Report post Posted August 12, 2002 "If you think HHH is the only reason WWE's product is down, you are surely mistaken" I agree, especially when you consider that the Helmsley-McMahon regime did some pretty healthy business and that was all HHH , all the time and that wasnt that long ago. Guest Anglesault Report post Posted August 12, 2002 Angle seems to have a little shuttle system to and from the ceiling. Every few months, it picks him up and brings him above the ceiling to work with the bug guys. Then it drops him back at "Waiting to Break the Ceiling" Station until they need him again. Everyone else is just totally fucked.
Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted August 12, 2002 Angle really took the worst burying I've sen in a long time during his feud with Trips around No Way Out. All those Smackdwons for weeks he would throw a couple of suplexes and then get his pants pulled down, pedigreed and he'd cry. That got really annoying.
