Guest The Flying Dutchman Report post Posted August 13, 2002 All right, how about this? How about someone actually gives me 3 reasons why they don't like Bubba Ray Dudley as a wrestler? And not just "He sucks." or "He's fat." Make an actual point. Refer to a match where he specifically sucked and tell why you thought his performance sucked. A discussion isn't one person making his points solidly and logically while the other just sits there and says "No, you're wrong." That's just like the Monty Python skit and it's completely senseless.

Guest buffybeast Report post Posted August 13, 2002 Fucking freak. Don't be jealous. And don't say that BBR doesn't have a moveset or technical skill. I've seen his matches over the years where he has displayed a wide variety of moves. He has some technical skill but does not display it in WWF.
Guest The Flying Dutchman Report post Posted August 13, 2002 THANK YOU! Was that so hard? I'd be happier if you had elaborated a little more, but at least you really do have SOME sort of reason. I don't mind people saying someone sucks, but I do mind them saying it and then not giving any damn explanation WHY.
Guest LexLugerRules Report post Posted August 13, 2002 1.His act is incredibly stale 2.He has very little technical skill 3.He hasn't got a big moveset 4.His matches aren't exciting 5.His matches are basically brawls the above points refer to the majority of Bubba matches i have seen 1) Oh and Jericho's "I'm the undisputed KING OF THE WOOOOOORLD!" is any staler? 2) Niether was Raven, and he was a great wrestler. 3) Oh and you need a huge moveset to be a great wrestler. HHH in his prime didnt have a long moveset, but he still was a great wrestler. 4) Opinion 5) Your point? His gimmick is a brawler.
Guest BionicRedneck Report post Posted August 13, 2002 Jericho's "King of world" catchphrase started about 2 months ago. Bubba act has been the same for ages. Raven was a great brawler, but he did have some technical skill. Yeah, i fucked up on the moveset thing. What i meant (and should have said) was he has no pshycology behind his moves. So if you have a small moveset AND no pshyc it doesn't work. If you have a small moveset and great phsyc (Ric Flair) it works fine. "4) Opinion" er...yeah, it was all just opinion Dutchman asked why i didn't like Bubba's matches, i don't like basic brawls every week, even if "His gimmick is a brawler. "
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted August 13, 2002 I'd like to remind everyone that a) Bubba isn't exactly doing anything offensive, I mean even when he went over Benoit and Eddy, he got his ASS kicked and took a Frog Splash/Crossface combo and B) He is the one man to get a watchable match out of Brock. Guest BionicRedneck Report post Posted August 13, 2002 I agree. there are a lot worse than Bubba. I only took issue with the fact it was suggested he was a great worker And don't say that BBR doesn't have a moveset or technical skill. I've seen his matches over the years where he has displayed a wide variety of moves. could you please point me towards these matches?
Guest alfdogg Report post Posted August 13, 2002 OK, I don't really feel like sorting through three pages and commenting on everyone's points, so... Bubba Dudley is going nowhere, but that's not the point. The point is Bubba Dudley is more protected than someone getting ready to have sex with Missy Hyatt, and when JR could have put Jericho over for making him tap, he used one of his stupid hoss cock-sucking one liners instead. Fuck him. Bubba is a decent worker, it's just that God forbid he's not the same wrestler that Angle or Benoit or Eddy is. But he had the sack to go in all of those TLC matches and take all those killer bumps. That's the only thing that made HBK and HHH's matches any good is their bumping, and HHH gets his dick sucked for 2000 all the time, and HBK is often called one of the greatest workers ever. Bubba is not a bad worker, but he's not great either, and there are other guys I'd like to see pushed before him.

Guest HoffmanHBK Report post Posted August 13, 2002 Hmm... How about this. Bubba Ray works a specific style, a hardcore, high-impact brawling style, and if you like the style you'll like Bubba, and if you don't, you won't. Because that's all this boils down to: opinion. Bubba works hard, but he's not the greatest technician on the planet. Far from, from what I've seen (and remember I can only speak from personal experience here). So, depending on how you define "talent" and being a "good worker," and simply based on personal preference, Bubba can be one of the greatest on the planet, or he can be a total nothing. Clearly, Dutch likes brawling and high-impact roughhousing, while Redneck prefers technically sound wrestlers like Beniot, Jericho, Angle, or the AJPW crew. And that's cool, that's part of why wrestling appeals to so many people. But this whole "he sucks/he rules/all his matches suck ass/he's the best ever/you suck/eat my ass/ bite my crizz" bullshit doesn't really foster any sort of intelligent discussion. Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted August 14, 2002 +'s 1) Very good bumper/seller 2) "Tight" worker (i.e. hardly ever sloppy) 3) Pretty agile for a big man -'s 1) Dusty-cito act is stale 2) Kinda white-bread in the ring 3) WWE seems to want to push him above his means (not really Bubba's fault) 4) Protection issue (again, not his fault) On his own, he's pretty inoffensive, but the way the WWE is handling him lately has turned me off of him. The JR comment just set me off.

Guest Angle-plex Report post Posted August 14, 2002 Like I said before, Bubba isn't that bad. Not as bad as Test, anyways.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Report post Posted August 14, 2002 Bubba Ray is an overpushed, undertalented asshole who gets a lot more than he deserves. If he wasn't a hundred pounds heavier and a couple inches taller than D-von, he'd be in Jobberville too. Screw him. He's the most protected man on the roster. Well, Lesnar's going to be joining him in that spot. Without the tables, nobody cares. Look at D-von. Take the table away, and the entire team is nothing more than Public Enemy 2k2. Not a suprise. Yet they STILL push this talentless goof over people who deserve it. Fuck you, WWE.
Guest Angle-plex Report post Posted August 14, 2002 Test and Triple H are the most protected men on the roster. I wouldn't call getting pinned by Jericho being "protected".

Guest El Psycho Diablo Report post Posted August 14, 2002 Oh. That's right. Test gets a "push" every month, damn him. He's friends with Shane McMahon. Didn't anyone tell him you can't be a friend with anyone who has the slightest hint of relation to the promoter backstage? Damn that Test. Bet he thinks he's the Smartest Player in The Game, eh? Lesnar is getting a "push". Test is not. Guess getting beaten up by Rikishi for a few weeks is a push, AP? Starting at KotR: Test King of the Ring 2002: Beaten by Brock Lesnar. Yet they STILL push this talentless goof over people who deserve it. Fuck you, WWE. The sad thing is that as much as D-Von' gimmick sucks (not his fault, because he hasn't been given a microphone since the masturbation shit with Faarooq to try to build it), he still has a better gimmick than Bubba Ray. And Bubba is the one with the "push" and the crowd reaction, just because he kept the damn tables. I like Bubba well enough, but that's because I liked The Dudley Boyz. I don't like Bubba as a singles wrestler, and he doesn't have the same chemistry with Spike that he did with D-Von.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Report post Posted August 14, 2002 It's kinda like the APA. We know they suck, but as a team, it kinda contains the suck. As singles, it results in twice the airtime, which in this case, has done nothing for any of the teams that were broken up.
