Well?

I think he's over-rated on the mic (he used to be pretty good, but his material is soooo tired now), and only average in the ring.

Considering everyone on the net seems ot hate the guy- I voted no

he's not overrated, its just there is no one that good to able to compete with the rock with mic skills, only Austin, Vince and Triple H could really make the Rock stand out strong.

I think that he's very overrated on the Mic, and a little underrated in the ring. But the former outweighs the latter, so I voted Yes.

Rock's pure gold on the mike. He might say a lot of the same things, but his charisma is simply undeniable, and it makes all of his promos very good. In the ring, he's better than a lot of people give him credit for, he has great matches with great opponents, and can have good matches with almost anyone.

can we get some new material for the Rock

his matches are good but the promos are the same every night. Finally (insert city), or he mocks the announcer, or spits out more overused catch phrases.

A little bit yes, a little bit no.

No in that he obviously belongs as a top guy.

Yes in that he has a tendancy to make people abandon the traditional * ratings that they stick everyone else with.

How can someone take a 1/2 * off of Benoit vs. RVD, because RVD didn't hold his arm after Benoit stopped working it...

But those same people rate Rock match through the roof when he no sells the entire match with his kipup?

He's exciting and entertaining. He's a decent worker.

He's also overrated on that level.

On the mic he's ungodly stale and unfunny

I like his ringwork though...aftter you can get through the predictableness of the matches they're enjoyable

I like the Rock because he's unselfish and he'll sell for anyone. What I don't like are some of his moves, such as the People's Elbow, which I feel would hurt less than the impact of a normal elbow drop. Also, when he sends someone into the ropes and sort of falls backwards while throwing his opponent over his head. The announcers call it a belly to belly suplex. His dragon screw legwhips suck too. But his interviews are pure gold.

I think Rock is a little underrated in the ring by the net. He's better than people give him credit for. As far as mic skills go, HELL NO. He can take the corniest, most unfunny skits (like the Coach's "cow" thing) and somehow always find a way to make me laugh. And his promo's have gotten a lot better since he's decided to let a little more of his true personality shine through (although they'd probably be a little stronger if without the cheap comedy).

In the Ring- The Rock is an average wrestler. Unusual selling methods, but he delivers. The fact that he does the J.O.B. hides his lack of talent, and many people don't see past his jobbing to see his true ring work. Verdict= Barely Overrated

On The Mic- Oooh, I don't know about this one. As a heel in late 98-early 99, he was the best mic worker there (with Austin and Foley). The past year and a half or so, he's been very repetitive and stale, and his jokes are just outlandish and aren't humorous. Verdict= Mildly Overrated

Overall Verdict= Has natural charisma, but no natural talent. He's basically a bit overrated as a performer, but he still delivers.

I don't think Rock's over-rated, really. He busts his ass whenever he gets in the ring, works with anyone, and is there whenever they need him.

..unlike some OTHER people I could name.
