Guest TestKick Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 I think this is one everyone should be looking forward to. These are the 2 best big men in the sport today, and I am interested to see how Test will carry Taker in this match. I say it will be at least ***, and MOTN with Benoit-RVD.
Guest Nevermortal Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 By interesting do you mean incredibly boring and mind-numbingly dull and pointless?
Guest HartFan86 Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 *cough* Smarkzone *cough* Don't let Anglesault or Angle-Plex see this thread, either.
Guest RepoMan Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 I have a feeling this match won't be nearly as bad as most pepole think. I predict **1/4.
Guest Bricks Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 You know if they just copy Diesel vs 'Taker at WM12 it could be good.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 Eh, it won't be terrible. Both guys seem motivated, especially Taker, so it should at least be in the **-**3/4 range.
Guest Anglesault Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 Well, with Taker's good singles match streak of ::checks notes:: zero, and Test's good match streak of ::checks notes:: zero, this match should definately rock!
Rob E Dangerously Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 Maybe if we get really drunk, the match can be entertaining
Guest Anglesault Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 No, that is entering stomach pump drunk type. I choose not to go that far. And I just read your custom title. There is now Dr. pepper on my keyboard
Guest midnight_burn Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 I don't think the match will be overly offensive, though hardly great by any means. The thought that RVD/Benoit would be coming up should get me through it, though alcohol will help too.
Rob E Dangerously Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 AS: yeah.. drinking until the match becomes good might be a bad idea. Maybe dropping acid could do something.. at least it'd make Taker look far out and it'd make Test have hair of fire or something. As for Nowinski's hair.. BEST PERM IN WRESTLING
Guest HartFan86 Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 Doesn't SK drink and review at the same time?
Rob E Dangerously Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 if he does.. that must explain his match ratings. Dean Rasmussen is usually drunk off his ass when he reviews.
Guest RickyChosyu Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 I'm of the opinion that neither Test nor Taker could carry their books to school, so the thought of either one carrying a good match is just way outside my realm of imagination right now. Sorry I don't share your enthusiasm.
Guest Will Scarlet Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 I do not think it will be that bad. I would say within the *-** range. It wil probably be short and harmless. At the going rate, it will probably end up better than the Triple H-Shawn Michaels "fight," unless Triple H reverts back into 2000 form.
Guest Human Fly Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 Since Test is the heel, logic dictates that he should be in control most of, or a good portion of the match. Which means that a big part of whether or not this match is any good will be how well 'Taker sells. That doesn't fill me with confidence for this match.

At the going rate, it will probably end up better than the Triple H-Shawn Michaels "fight," unless Triple H reverts back into 2000 form. Not only would HHH need to make a near-come-back, but it would take a miracle from Shawn as well, both of which are, at this point physically impossible. Trips is way to broken down, slow, and water-weighted to make any kind of resurgence to the land of good wrestlers, as sad as that fact is.

These are the 2 best big men in the sport today, and I am interested to see how Test will carry Taker in this match. I say it will be at least ***, and MOTN with Benoit-RVD. Oh dear
Guest Respect The 'Taker Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 I hate gimmick posters. Me too!! This has been the Taker Mark P.S Don't knock the freakin' match before it has had a change to get off the ground, watch the match THEN hit it with your criticisim... TAKER RULES!
Guest saturnmark4life Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 I'm actually not dreading this match as much as i thought i would. But then i don't really see how test/kane was the worst thing ever either.
Guest Goodear Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 Test and Taker should be watchable but not extremely good by any stretch. I would assume they'll be teasing the Test boot of stone as a knockout blow, but then Taker will kick out of it and rap it up with the last ride. I would expect a lot of back and forth power stuff... lots of clotheslines.
Guest Anglesault Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 But then i don't really see how test/kane was the worst thing ever either. ::Shows the Test/Kane match in it's entirety, WITH build up promos (Now Taker, we musn't overreact.") And JR hype. ("Bah Gawd, this could come down to whichever hoss hits his finisher!" DUH) and evil Nick Patrick/Kane side feud::
Guest SlowChemical6 Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 It won't be MOTN, but I am expecting *** out of Test and Taker. I am really looking forward to this one.
Guest Anglesault Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 Test has a three star match every year and a half. Taker rarely has one. They both need to be carried. Neither can carry. ::Makes bomb dropping whistle.::
Guest BionicRedneck Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 If they get up to ** they have outdone themselves.
Guest RickyChosyu Posted August 14, 2002 Report Posted August 14, 2002 Test/Kane, while not being the worst thing ever, was nothing special, and I think Meltzer was giving out his usual EXTRA CHARITY STAR OF DOOM!!!! when he rated it. Test, when he really feels like working, can be carried to _decent_ matches. At the same time, if you give him a slug like Mark Henry, he takes a potentially borring match and makes it unspeakably terrible. And, no offense to the respective gimick poster on there boards, but Taker is, was, and always will be a slug. He's in no possition to carry anyone. Like ever. You know, I could give this match a chance and get all hyped up about like some people seem to be, but it's just a helluva lot easier to go make my self a sandwich. Sorry.
