You know, I could give this match a chance and get all hyped up about like some people seem to be, but it's just a helluva lot easier to go make my self a sandwich. Sorry.

plus, the end result will far less dissapointing!

But then i don't really see how test/kane was the worst thing ever either.

::Shows the Test/Kane match in it's entirety, WITH build up promos (Now Taker, we musn't overreact.") And JR hype. ("Bah Gawd, this could come down to whichever hoss hits his finisher!" DUH) and evil Nick Patrick/Kane side feud::

::yeah, but it's not like they built it up as MOTY and it was perfectly ok for a hoss/hoss clash, i didn't say it was great or anything.::

No, Undertaker/Kane at Mania 14 was perfectly okay for Hoss on hoss. This was barely okay by Terri vs. Lilian standards.

**3/4? ***? are we talking about the same test? eddie fucking guerrero couldn't even carry his useless ass above **1/2.

this one will suck. a lot.

I agree. I finally saw Eddy/Test, and I personally didn't like the match, but most people say *** so that's what i go with.

Test/kane = ** Test/Eddy = ***i reckon. Mark Henry/Viscera it ain't, c'mon. I am willing to admit i only liked it because it was so much more frustrating to see booker get squashed on the same show in a far worse match.

the WMX7 match was just ridiculous. test was clearly trying hard, but the man has absolutely no idea how to put a match together. example: in the first 3 minutes of the match, while he was on offense, he gave eddie a tilt-a-whirl powerbomb. offense is supposed to BUILD UP and get MORE DANGEROUS as the match goes on (this is why matches before the attitude era usually started with chain wrestling). now the hell are you supposed to follow up a tilt-a-whirl powerbomb? it's an awesome move, it looks more devastating than any finisher he's ever had, and he used it as a throwaway move.

now...if there was some kind of strategy involved where test was trying to finish eddie off early, & eddie was somehow weakened enough to let test powerbomb him, i'd be fine with it. but there was no hint of this.

I believe he followed it up with a regular tilt-a-whirl slam.

The ratings are probably accurate. At the same time, I don't think that match was Eddy's fault. Test's slip up that got him caught in the ropes for a good minute really killed the flow of the match, and while Eddy, God bless him, tried to make it look like a planned part of the match by working Test's ankle afterwards, Test was way too clueless to be able to sell something like that consistantly, and so it ended up hurting the match further. Had Test gone the whole match without screwing up, it probably would have gotten much better, though I do like that match, just as an example of how great a worker Eddy is.

And I still think Test and Edge has a solid *** match at Survivor Series, or at least I think that was the one that got good. They stayed away from both guys' weak points, got just the right amount of time to build up what they wanted, and the ending stretch was very good and ended nicely. Like I said, if he really wants to, Test can be fun to watch. Of course, he hardly ever is, but hey, you take what you can get.

It was edited out of the video release. Did Eddy really trip and fall trying to get Test out of the ropes?

yup, he did. and he almost didn't even get eddie over all the way, nearly dropping him on his neck.

ya know what....

I don't really care what Test and Taker do...

if the match sucks as bad as some of us think it will...maybe the bookers will realize they did something stupid and try to fix it...

I try to be optimistic when dealing with WWE...even if it usually ends up not working...

There is no denying that it won't be a MOTYC or even close, but it gets the old fart out of the ME scene and gives Test something to do that keeps him out of destroying matches with better wrestlers (re: Eddy G)

We still can look forward to Benoit/RVD and Bookdust vs. The UnAmericans....

as well as a few others....

don't let one or two seemingly horrid matches ruin the whole damn Pay Per View....geez....

oh...and Test/Eddy was only about ** ......at most...

I don't remember him falling, but suffice to say, it was really embarrising, with both Eddy and Saturn trying to help poor Test get out of the ropes while trying to convince everyone that they were getting in cheap shots. Eventually they just gave up that act and pulled the morron out of the ropes, but Test just looked lost after that. Eddy salvaged it as best he could, and they got the crowd back eventually, but it definitely hampered the match.

I don't think the tape has Saturn pulling him out. It has eddy kicking his knee and holding the ropes open (with an absolutelty disgusted look on his face) while JR is like "Well, uhm, I guess Eddy knows he can't win the match that way..."

I cannot comprehend why people rate Test/Eddy ***+

Mind you, Test's pacing is real good in that match. Powerbomb two minutes in.

I would honestly rate it about *1/2-**

I can't remember Test/Kane (which is probably an idication of how exciting it was)

Uh... my Pro Wrestling Annual says that Test/Kane was the match of the month for whatever month it happened in.

Pretty shitty month, eh? ^_^

I am not too enthusiastic about Test/Taker, but I don't think it will be completely crappy. Test seems energetic and Taker does as well. It's up to the bookers to do it right.

Test has been on a roll of good matches lately, and Test & Taker's wrestling styles complement each other.

There will a lot of hard-hitting offensive maneuvers in this match, and I prefer that over RVD or Rey flipping around. Give the match a chance.

And the Raw match doesn't count, for two reasons.

a) It's an 8 man clusterfuck tag

B) Test was purposely kept out of 95% of that match.

Hard hitting? As in, ten minutes of shitty punches?

Test vs. Edge at Survivor Series was where Edge got the idea for the heart-stopping false finishes with Kurt Angle. Great match, well over ***.

I agree, ***1/2 IMO, and probably Test's best 'wrestling' match excluding the street fight with shane.

Test and Taker last good match.

Test vs um....um, Edge at Survivor Series. And it wasn't that good either.

Taker vs RVD on RAW a few months back. Mainly because RVD bumped his ass off and Taker sold for him.

I didn't even notice the Test situation at WM 17. I was sick that night so i wasn't fully aware plus i only cared for Vince/Shane, rock/austin, battle royal, HHH/UT, TLC2. Angle/Benoit too kinda.

Test vs. Taker will BARELY break *1/2. Taker is not the 1990's version we loved. He's older, slower and less agile. When was the last time he did a dive clearing the top rope to the floor?

Last...July? I think he did it to the Allowance. (Get well soon, Lilian!)

It wont be anything remarkable that's for sure. It'll be pretty good if they treat it as an actual match rather than a glorified squash for Taker just so we fans are supposed to know he's a face now. Test wrestles much better as the heel (less early power moves) so there's some hope the match can reach **.
