Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 Angle-Plex help me out here. What is this magical look that Test has, and that Teskick can see but selfishly refuses to share with the collective? The needs of the many, outweigh the needs of the few dammit! Unless you're Spock.
Guest TestKick Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 Test most definitely does have charisma in the ring. I can tell that Test has worked long and hard on his acting skills with the facial expressions he makes. When he makes his angry face, I almost cower in fear. When Stephanie left him, the sad look on his face made me want to give him a huge hug. So yeah, Test does have charisma. Mr. Benoit does not.

If Test had charisma, I'm sure that he would actually have heat by now. I'm also convinced that you don't really like Test that much, and you're just trying to make a name for yourself of something.
Guest BionicRedneck Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 Test DOES NOT have charisma. He is oblivious to all the little things that good workers do.
Guest TestKick Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 Test is my favorite worker on the roster currently, but please continue assuming whatever you shall.
Guest Brian Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 In the ring, has Test ever done anything that portrays the character he was?
Guest Flyboy Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 Test is my favorite worker on the roster currently That is why you're bias. End of discussion. Brian: He slaps his pants! He has character and chrisma!
Guest Angle-plex Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 Test is my favorite worker on the roster currently, but please continue assuming whatever you shall. If you like him so much, tell me: If he has so much charisma and is so talented, how come on his interview on monday you could here a pin drop?
Guest TestKick Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 During everyone's interviews, you can hear a pindrop. The pops only come during entrances. Besides, Test is a heel. BTW, this thread has no surpassed the Smackdown thread. Smackdown misses Test. Test = ratings. Thank you.
Guest Flyboy Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 During everyone's interviews, you can hear a pindrop. Ummm... You couldn't hear a pindrop during a Rock promo. Why? Because, he has chrisma. You couldn't hear a pindrop during a RVD promo. Why? Cheers and people chanting "R-V-D". Test on the other hand...
Guest BionicRedneck Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 During everyone's interviews, you can hear a pindrop. The pops only come during entrances. Test = ratings. Not sure about either of those
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 Ummm they cheer during Rocky, Booker, Goldust, Flair, Angle, and Michaels promos. It's called charisma, look into it.
Guest TestKick Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 Rock & RVD get cheers during their interviews because they are faces. Kurt Angle, the best mic worker in WWE, gets nothing during his interviews (except What? but that doesn't count). If Test was pushed correctly like an RVD, and not buried constantly... he would be more over. Test can actually talk on the mic, unlike RVD, and he has the look.
Guest Angle-plex Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 The pops only come during entrances. Maybe on Smackdown. It's called "Canned Heat".
Guest Brian Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 Wow, SmackDown had more viewers than RAW this week too. Just thought it was worth brining up.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 (chuckle) BWHAHAHAHAHA! How long have you watched wrestling? 4 days? EDIT: I was laughing at Testkick: The Human Brainfart
Guest Brian Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 RVD's been pushed correctly? RVD's currently being pushed? Could have fooled me.

Test can actually talk on the mic, unlike RVD, and he has the look. Yeah, you know like, how RVD lost against Taker twice, and Test just beat him on Monday. I don't think that Test is the one getting buried...........
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 Oh and RVD has no charisma but he has the fans chanting R-V-D whenever he turns up? In the words of RVD himself: Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight
Guest Flyboy Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 RVD's been pushed correctly? RVD's currently being pushed? Could have fooled me. Exactly what I was thinking, Brian.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 Testkick: Proof that the rectum is NOT an adaquate means of communacation.

Guest Anglesault Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 Test: ::grunt:: well, uhm, DAMNIT, I FORGOT MY LINE! SHA-ANE! Shane's voice from backstage: "I don't like America." Test: The pie won't mic Angelica!
Guest the pinjockey Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 Test: ::grunt:: well, uhm, DAMNIT, I FORGOT MY LINE! SHA-ANE! Shane's voice from backstage: "I don't like America." Test: The pie won't mic Angelica! BTW AS that Lesnar pic is very disturbing.
Guest Respect The 'Taker Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 Ahh..its been so peaceful here now since you've arrived TestKick...no-one rips on the Taker anymore...because there is a TEST MARK in the house, wohoo! This has been the Taker Mark
Guest RicFlairGlory Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 lol yes the young overrated overpushed hoss always gets more crap than the older less overrated kinda respected company hoss.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 Ahh..its been so peaceful here now since you've arrived TestKick...no-one rips on the Taker anymore...because there is a TEST MARK in the house, wohoo! This has been the Taker Mark™ Well, I'm a Test fan, but unlike Mr. Kick here, I choose to use logic whenever I post.
Guest Trivia247 Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 Ohhh he likes Test... So there must be something Mentally wrong with him? I await HAKUMANIA Want a Piece of me? (CRACKS a Beer bottle against the wall ready to start gutting) LOL
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 This could be kind of long. Read at your own risk. Half the time I'm serious, half the time I'm not. It's up to whoever's reading my posts to decide what it is. My problem with Benoit is that he's pimped to high heaven in the IWC. I've seen groups like "Austin, Rock, Angle, Benoit.." as refering to main eventers. I've heard bitching about Benoit not getting the title by now, or not getting a god push. Or refering to a worker "Well, he's good, but he's no Benoit.." What is kind of looked over is the fact that a WWE main eventer has to have "the look", charisma, or height. There are a few, rare exceptions to that, but that seems to be the standard. People on the internet assume that since Benoit is the 'best wrestler in the WWE', that guarantees him a world title reign, and a main event slot. Que? The only non very charismatic guys to get in the main are HHH, and now Brock Lesnar. Triple H had the look, was massively built, and had "backstage pull". Only god knows why Lesnar's getting this god push, other than the fact he's big. I can't really see them making an exception for Benoit. He's a good wrestler, yes. But he's also short, not very good on the stick, and has the personality of a rock. Oh, he does a good "killer" character, but how far does that really go? There's only a limited number of people a killer can run over. Look at Trips. Without mic skills to get heat or get back heat from promos, he's kind of screwed. Characters like face Jericho and Rock are often seen as stale here, but the 'marks' eat them up. Why? They're damn entertaining, and while the promos may get to be paint-by-number with catchphrases..it still works, just because of the charisma those guys have. A guy like RVD (arguably) may not have the speaking skill of a Jericho or Rock, he's got an innate 'coolness' about him. Poses, mannerisms, whatever you want to call it. There's kind of a bias when it comes to Benoit, I've noticed. People choose to ignore his faults because he's the Canadian Workrate. When you're pimping someone as a 'should-be main eventer'..you've got to look at the people currently there, and think "Would this guy really fit?" That's really all I've got to say about it.
Guest Brian Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 I've never referred to Benoit, nor even Angle, as main eventers. Rock, HHH, Austin, Undertaker, and that's as far as it goes really. It's sort of hard not to compare someone to the ability of Benit, or even Guerrero and maybe Angle or Mysterio, since they are really in an elite group of wrestlers, in the world. The killer gimmick can go a long way, if booked properly. The key is being booked properly. Triple H made a massive heel run as that. His face run though, was booked from a different perspective. He made no transition from his heel to face run. His face run was handled poorly as a whole. It's really a moot point; a better handled Triple H face run (and all the pieces were in place) would have set him up for success despite his lack of mic work. But they blew it. I think Benoit fits fine in the main event. As a killer, even as a serious wrestler, he brings that hard hitting, stiff offense, with a strong tapout angle that really no one else has. He bumps great and is willing to sell to great lengths to make his opponent look good. Very few can carry a match like he can. He can provide great wrestling. That fits well enough for me.
