Guest DKnez Report post Posted August 16, 2002 Im doing a live draft now and so far I have Steve McNair Kordell Stewart Shaun Alexander James Stewart Isaac Bruce Darrell Jackson
Guest razazteca Report post Posted August 16, 2002 Kordell should only be used during the bye week, I think the Steelers will focus on the 3 RB attack and forget the pass. McNair is a good QB starter, it all depends on Eddie George and the running game Alexander will have to put up big numbers since the Seahawks are without a good QB Stewart still with the Lions? look for another RB Bruce is with the Rams but is the 3rd option in the offense behind Faulk and Holt not sure who Jackson is Try to get some Redskins especially Danny Wueffawl or the WRs
Guest the pinjockey Report post Posted August 16, 2002 Jackson and Bruce are very nice for a set of WR. Your 1 RB is good to make up for a lower tier second one. Depending on your third WR I would probably try to package Jackson or Bruce and McNair to get an upgrade at QB.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted August 16, 2002 keep McNair try to trade Kordell
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted August 16, 2002 Why did you choose 2 QBs in the first 6 rounds? I am not liking this team at all. Alexander could be a bust, and you don't have one of the top WRs either. Instead of James Stewart, if you are that desperate you should draft someone with a lot of upside, like Clinton Portis or Deshaun Foster.
Guest DKnez Report post Posted August 16, 2002 DeSaun Foster might not even start. Instead it might be Lamar Smith and Foster hasn't even prove himself to be a threat.
Guest DKnez Report post Posted August 16, 2002 Chris Chambers is my other WR. I'll try and trade Kordell Stewart and Isaac Bruce for another RB.
Guest DKnez Report post Posted August 16, 2002 I also did draft DeShaun Foster. But im having my doubts about drafting him.
Agent_Bond34 0 Report post Posted August 16, 2002 DeShaun Foster has a lot of upside to him, he could very well win the starting job in Carolina over Lamar Smith. If he does, he could produce some good numbers, it's a possibility I myself wouldn't rule out. This is one of a few fantasy teams that I have. Tell me how this team looks in your opinion.. Mark Brunell - QB Terrell Owens - WR Jimmy Smith - WR Keyshawn Johnson - WR Emmitt Smith - RB Ron Dayne - RB Freddie Jones - TE Martin Gramatica - K St Louis - DEF Bench Joey Harrington - QB Mike Alstott - RB Peter Warrick - WR Santana Moss - WR Eric Johnson - TE DeShaun Foster - RB I figure I probably need to upgrade my team at the QB spot maybe. What do you guys think?
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted August 16, 2002 Don't worry about QB, worry about RB. Emmit Smith? Ron Dayne?
Agent_Bond34 0 Report post Posted August 16, 2002 I figure Emmitt Smith might be some sort of good with him chasing that rushing record, I'm not too sure how that'd work out fantasy-wise. Aren't they gonna limit his time once he breaks that record? Ron Dayne, I dunno, I could probably ship him off for someone else. Only reason he's starting is because I benched Alstott in favor of him, which might not have been a good idea. I could check around the league to see what I could find, or I could put Alstott back in Dayne's spot.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted August 16, 2002 do not start Emmit, he does not put up TDs like Alstott did or Foster might Smith had 1000 yards big deal, but in fantasy football TDs count besides he does not have good blockers to amount to anything. Guest DrTom Report post Posted August 16, 2002 Steve McNair Kordell Stewart Shaun Alexander James Stewart Isaac Bruce Darrell Jackson McNair: Decent NFL QB, not so good as a fantasy QB. The Titans run a ball-control offense, and his TD/Int ratio doesn't make up for not amassing a lot of yards. Stewart: About the same as McNair, though McNair has a better track record. Alexander: Should be good again, but who knows? He's unproven, but I think he's a worthwhile risk. Stewart: If he gets closer to the ten TDs of 2000 than the one he got all of last year, he's not a bad pickup. Bruce: Solid. Drafting one of the Rams' top two receivers is never bad. Jackson: A bit of a question mark, but probably joins teammate Alexander as a worthwhile risk.
Guest DrTom Report post Posted August 16, 2002 Mark Brunell - QB Terrell Owens - WR Jimmy Smith - WR Keyshawn Johnson - WR Emmitt Smith - RB Ron Dayne - RB Freddie Jones - TE Martin Gramatica - K St Louis - DEF Bench Joey Harrington - QB Mike Alstott - RB Peter Warrick - WR Santana Moss - WR Eric Johnson - TE DeShaun Foster - RB Brunell: Cross your fingers and hope he's healthy. The problem is, injuries have robbed him of a lot of the mobility that made him so effective earlier in his career. He's basically a pocket passer now, and combined with his history of fragility, I think he's a risk that you should let someone else take. Owens: He fucking rules. I've had him the last two years, and goddamn is he good. He's the best receiver in the NFL unless Randy Moss decides to play all the time. Smith: Solid, productive receiver no matter who throws him the ball, and a very safe pick. Keyshawn: Overrated, but he could put up some decent numbers in Gruden's offense. Emmitt: I see him setting the record, then settling into a backup role. If he starts the whole year, he's a serviceable fantasy back, but the question for him nowadays is touchdowns. Dayne: Why? Freddie Jones: Solid fantasy TE. Automatica: Good kicker. accurate with a long leg. Rams D: Better than average, but not exceptional. (Bench) Harrington: HOw much will he play? Alstott: It looks like Pittman will be the starter, but I'd still expect Alstott to gain 500+ years and pick up at least his share of TDs. Warrick: Overrated, but he still has a good upside. Johnson: You could do worse for a backup TE. Foster: PT is the question with him, too.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted August 16, 2002 DeSaun Foster might not even start. Instead it might be Lamar Smith and Foster hasn't even prove himself to be a threat. Foster will start don't worry about that. I guess he has impressed the coaches alot in camp and is basically a shoe in to start. Besides Lamar is washed up as a starting rb. He may be decent as a backup or a 3rd down role, but he's done as a starter.
Guest DKnez Report post Posted August 16, 2002 You should package Brunnel and Dayne and get a more reliable QB.
Agent_Bond34 0 Report post Posted August 16, 2002 You should package Brunnel and Dayne and get a more reliable QB. I could look into that, but what QB could I possibly get out of it?

You guys think I've done alright so far with this team for a fantasy football 'rookie' so to speak?
Guest LexLugerRules Report post Posted August 17, 2002 I posted my team in the other folder, but here it is. QB - Aaron Brooks RB - Marshall Faulk RB - Curtis Martin WR - Kevin Johnson WR - Laveranues Coles WR - Peerles Price TE - Bubba Franks K - Jason Elam D- New York Jets BENCHED RB - Warrick Dunn QB - Kordell Stewart WR - Qadry Ismail WR - Raghib Ismail TE - Freedie Jones D - San Francisco THIS IS MY 1ST EVER FANTASY FOOTBALLL TEAM. Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted August 17, 2002 Play Qadry Ismail over Price, and Freddie Jones over Bubba Franks. Good team though. Oh, and check the waiver wire for another defence. The Jets lost their corners to Houston, and San Fran just sucks. Often you can find good Ds that weren't selected. Last year in my league (and probably most leagues), the Browns went undrafted and ended up being near the top.
Guest LexLugerRules Report post Posted August 17, 2002 I see Dallas on waiver's I'll pick them up.

Yeah, the Jets did lose their corners to Houston. However, I disagree about San Francisco. They're a young and improving defense, given time they will be one of the better defenses in the league. This year they added another key piece to their defense in Mike Rumph. They have a few good vets on their defense as well in Stubblefield and Young, which provides true veteran leadership. It won't be too long before the 49ers defense becomes even better than what it is now IMO.
