Guest MrBiznatch Posted August 17, 2002 Report Posted August 17, 2002 The mask is gone, and that's why the writing has been so bad over the last seven or eight months. The writing team is brainstorming round the clock on how to explain Kane looking normal, and thus let the current writing fall by the wayside. I would say just paint his face black, but then the paint would come off. Easy.....he's been gone for awhile. Just say he got plastic surgery in his time off. That's a more believable storyline than continuing to say he's burned after they said his arm was burned yet he went to a tank top. They've already ruined the whole "he's burned" thing anyway.

Guest Olympic Slam Posted August 17, 2002 Report Posted August 17, 2002 Smackdown needs him, but he'd be a better fit on RAW. The problem with Kane is that they book him as an unstoppable moster yet he never gets close to the main event. Big Show suffers from this same problem, that is they're stuck in this main event/high mid-card zone where nothing happens. They're afraid to push him as a main eventer yet at the same time he's too big to be anything less than a mid-card force. They can't make Kane main event because his character isn't compelling enough to draw the big bucks. Yet at the same time, if he dominates the mid-card, then shouldn't he be qualified to contend for the main event? There's also the choice of making him job more in the mid-card. But that would totally destroy his gimmick and no one of his size should be jobbing like that. Look for Kane to be in his usual role as the "mystery opponent" or the guy giving a heel a beatdown in a heel's "punishment match."
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted August 17, 2002 Report Posted August 17, 2002 I bet any amount of money Kane comes back w/ the mask on, and the announcers won't even mention anything about it.
Guest Anglesault Posted August 18, 2002 Report Posted August 18, 2002 Smackdown needs a big man and Kane is one of the better out there. Why does Smackdown NEED a lumbering big man who needs to be carried to good matches where somehow he gets all the credit and sends the other guy in the downward spiral of an Edge feud while the sucky big guy main events even though he blew the finish of the match with said carrier? Not that I'm noting specific examples or anything

Guest TestKick Posted August 18, 2002 Report Posted August 18, 2002 Because big men draw interest from the crowd. If it was all midgets like Rey and Angle, the whole federation would be nothing but a joke. Also, it's asanine to say Kane is lumbering goof that can't work matches... he does his share of athletic moves in the ring.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted August 18, 2002 Report Posted August 18, 2002 He should be on.... Heat
Guest Anglesault Posted August 18, 2002 Report Posted August 18, 2002 Let's put Albert vs. Test on a PPV and see the heat and interest from the crowd, shall we? Also, it's asanine to say Kane is lumbering goof that can't work matches... he does his share of athletic moves in the ring. Examples off the top of my head. The three minute choke. The WM X8 finish. The Angle vs. Jericho match where Kane had to throw Angle in the ring and fucked that up. The entire Test vs. Kane match.
Guest Angle-plex Posted August 18, 2002 Report Posted August 18, 2002 The entire Test vs. Kane match. You can't blame Kane for that match. Look at who his opponent was.
Guest Anglesault Posted August 18, 2002 Report Posted August 18, 2002 No, that was a joint effort. The match sucked when both guys were on offense, so no one guy was better than the other.
