the MNF game did not help me as Brad Johnson threw TD to someone other than Keenan and Issiac Bruce did not score

On one of my Yahoo teams, I was offered this trade..

Peerless Price/Shaun Alexander for Terrell Owens

Normally I don't take trades for Owens, but, I just might consider this one since my RBs are weak as it is.

My RBs are Pittman, Alstott and Jamel White, I got rid of guys like Emmitt and Ron Dayne whom I had before.

My WRs are Owens, Keyshawn, Donte' Stallworth and Todd Pinkston who I picked up from the FA/Waiver-Wire

Should I take this?

Eh it's a sorta risky trade. Owens is struggling this season so far, but so is Alexander. The problem is that while Owens has proved he's a good player Alexander hasn't shown that he's not just a one year wonder yet.

However you have rather shitty rbs. Also Buffalo has to make up for having no defense, so Owens for Price wouldn't be a huge step down even if Owens gets back on track.

It would probably be good for you to take that trade.

Well, my RBs are Michael Pittman, Mike Alstott and Jamel White if that says much. Adding Alexander would be a good improvement. He can't and probably won't be held under 40 yards rushing per game all season. Especially with Seattle getting back one of their Pro Bowl tackles, I believe that is Walter Jones they are getting back.

Price for Owens, I don't think that would be a huge step down, considering the type of year Price is having thus far and Price could (not saying he will, but, he COULD) put up Owens-like numbers this season. I also have Keyshawn and Donte' Stallworth as WRs, so, it wouldn't be all that bad.

Well, I finally won my first game in my league. Well, it is not over yet, but the score is 57-49, and my opponent has no players left, and I still have Jeremy Shockey. Barring a negative 6 performance by Shockey, I win.

Also this week, I picked up three players off the waiver wire who had solid performances in Steve Smith(WR, Car. 5 points), Jerome Pathon(8 points), and Jamel White(11 points). Sure, I benched them, but it is nice to know that, if need be, I have some guys who may contribute down the road. Unlike the guys who I cut them for, who sucked the first three weeks.

I also made a trade, as I traded Ahman Green & Torry Holt for Isaac Bruce, Jeremy Shockey, & Stephen Davis. It worked out for me this week, as Green and Holt only picked up 8 points, and Bruce and Shockey had 10 points combined last I checked, and Davis had an off week. I hope it works out for the best for me.

All in all, great week. I did not get as many points as I wanted, but I will gladly take the win. *celebrates*

Yeah you'd be smart to go ahead and take that trade.

Even if Alexander isn't as good as he was last year he'd still be a solid starter for you. Also Alexander doesn't have the splitting carries problem that your current RBs have.

Yeah, Alexander isn't part of that rotating running back deal we all just love (being sarcastic about the love part) I'll have him in another week or two with Seattle being on bye next week.

I went ahead and took the trade, it should work out just fine in the long run, hopefully.

Ironic thing, I face the guy I traded Owens to next week.

okay i just picked up tim brown and stacey mack for trent dilfer, william green, thomas jones, and willie jackson (all going to be dumped for wire pickups anyway) now im torn about my #2 this week

Im leaning towards Kevin Johnson against baltimore but Chris Chambers plays well against the pats (of course, i have ricky williams who should run all day long to further confuse it)

my normal qb decision that i ponder every week is very easy this week

trent green vs the s-u-c-k (jets)

over

vick vs the bucs

gimmie some input on my wr starters!!

thanx in advance

btw my rosters now are:

trent green

michael vick

ricky williams

eddie george

jamel white

stacey mack

tim brown

chris chambers

kevin johnson

eddie kennison

antwaan randle el

anthony becht

mike hollis

carolina

pittsburgh

i have a pending trade on the table now: randle el for shawn bryson

Johnson would be good because Browns always play well against Ravens.

But Chambers and Dolphins are looking to rebound after a disappointing lose. And Patriots focusing on stopping the run this week should open the passing game up.

In a close one i'd have to go with Chambers.

Why'd you trade Randle El for a RB that's a backup on his own team. Also you don't even need another RB. If you wanted to try trading a WR for anotheer RB it should've been that life long underacheiver Eddie Kennison.

they're all just back ups anyway

bryson gets carries if travis screws up (like when he gets benched after fumbling like they've already done in a game this year) gets benched or injured. I'm never going to start randle el or bryson probably so they're just backups/trade bait. randles a guy to play if you have no depth @ wr. i have three top of the depth chart wrs. randle el is always going to be behind plax and ward and the week you take a chance to start him - nothing and the week after you bench him - he busts out. murphy's law.

all the guys like that and kennison , and schroder are all trade bait to people who want them. im all set (barring injury fingers crossed) for the year. when williams goes on his bye, jamel white playes the jets. when trent green goes out (if he stays a this level) vick plays the jets. when eddie george goes out, jamel plays houston. when chambers goes out , again Cleveland has the jets for KJ.

I am going to dump one of the wrs into the FA pool and pick up that giants kicker to replace hollis on the bye. He looks good.

the wr decision of chambers vs KJ will probably end up being a game time last minute one, but the insight helps

I went 0-2 in Yahoo leagues this weekend, but I won my game in the money league. It sucks that I'm first in my division in that league, but 1-3 in the TSM Yahoo league. Anyway, I eked out the victory in a close game, by the score of 211-100. I had both Shaun Alexander and Rich Gannon going, thus the high point total. It could have been 237 with a couple different decisions, but I'll take the 211 that made me the highest-scoring team in the league.

Hey guys, I'm kinda torn as to who I should start at TE this week. I have Randy McMichael, who's been having a great steady season so far. I also have Todd Heap, who broke out last week against Denver. They're playing against New England and Cleveland respectively. I haven't seen Cleveland at all, so I have no clue how their pass defense is. So who should I go with? Should I maybe trade one of them and try and get a better player at another position, like a RB?

Here's a link to my team, check it out. I'm interesting in how you guys see it.

Id start Heap. Hes the only player on the Ravens that seems to be able to catch passes.

You have three TEs so you should definately trade or cut one. Heap is likely worth more as trade bait than Alge so see if you can get a trade for Heap. You should also try trading Brad Johnson. You don't need three qbs and Collins is the better guy to keep over Johnson. Barring injuries Collins will be the starting QB, while Johnson could be pulled at any time if the coach wanted to.

So package Heap and Brad Johnson and try to get at least one decent backup rb or wr.

If you get no takers on any trades then cut Alge Crumpler and Brad Johnson and pick up a free agent backup WR and RB. Your league has some good fa's.

Free Agent RB's:

Moe Williams: He may not get great numbers with Minnesota's current offensive troubles. However, he appears to be the most productive back on a team that's screaming for a running game.

Jamel White: He may be splitting carries with William Green, but Jamel is still the main RB until Green learns the pro game fully.

Stacey Mack: Had nice game last week and with Fred Taylor it may only be a matter of time till he's starting

Marcel Shipp: A bit of a chance since players who have a good game in Arizona seem to disappear after that game.

Free Agent WR's:

Josh Reed: He seems to always get alot of looks from Bledsoe and has put up some decent points.

Todd Pinkston: Freeman being around has helped him alot. He'll probably get plenty of time even with Freeman since Philly wants to build the young WRs up.

Eddie Kennison: Hasn't been bad in KC, but is still a risk since he has always been a major underacheiver.

Of those guys i'd personally take Jamel White and Josh Reed.

Moe Williams is Mr Red Zone and a damn good kickoff return man.....without Moe I would of lost the game last week. Moe is the dump off past option, runs the ball on goal line, returns kicks what else do you want? Also made 2 TDs in the last game against the Seahawks but of course everybody runs good against Seattle.

keep McMichael as TE as he is one of the best Rookies this year, some reporters think that he is better than Shockey

pick up Pinkston at WR as he will get alot of looks if Thrash or Freeman get double teamed

What you need are a backup kicker and an extra team defense.

For kickers, you should go get Paul Edinger or Jason Hanson.

Team defenses, you should go get either St Louis or Carolina.

You don't have to, but, it would be useful for you if you did.

Eh kickers aren't that big of a deal because unless it's a large league you get a decent one when you need him for the bye. Besides if you don't play a kicker during a bye week it won't hurt too much.

Team defense is slightly more important, but eh you can usally get good replacement later.

team defenses is only important if there is a points allowed stat in the league

kickers well are as important as TE as in if you dont have a back up, you really have nothing to worry about unless its a player like Tony Gonzales or Dawson who got injuried

my league has defense/special teams combined, and gaves have been won simply off some team's performance.. look at Oakland and TB who have multiple returns for TDs , and anything over 50 yards in my league is doubled

I think NFL.com does Defense/Special teams combined because i've seen a few teams get nearly 40 point off their defense.

No the kickers are still seperate. It's only the special teams and defenses that are combined.

Oh ok, my mistake.

I thought special teams was mostly kickers since kickers get points and all.

I misunderstood that, my apology.

I'm really not feeling good about my latest move in my USA Today salcap league.

This week, with Michael Vick hurt, Tim Couch's future in Cleveland uncertain, and Donovan McNabb on a bye, I'm down to one servicable quarterback - Drew Bledsoe. I'm supposed to start three. So I've taken a couple of big gambles, hoping that they pay off and I can make up ground on the division leader. Keep in mind that in the USA Today league, the only QB stats worth anything are passing yards, passing average, and scoring.

Gamble #1 - Dropped Couch and picked up Joey Harrington. Yeah, the Lions suck, but Harrington had a good game last week, is going to be behind in a bunch of games and have to throw long, and at the very least is playing Minnesota this week.

Gamble #2 - Dropped Michael Westbrook (the only other gamble I had that didn't pan out) and picked up Patrick Ramsey. I didn't want to drop Vick, because I think he'll be good as new in a couple weeks, but I needed a third quarterback to start, so I had to do SOMETHING. Spurrier penchant for yanking the quarterback worries me, but at least the kid's got an arm good enough to take advantage of the deep routes his receivers will always be running. This essentially only leaves me with two back-up receivers (this week, I've got Marty Booker and James Thrash on bye weeks), but Westbrook wasn't going to see time anyway, and starting both Ramsey and Harrington (who are CHEAP) gives me the freedom to start my best RB's and WR's.

Note that my other QB is Brad Johnson, but I'll be damned if he's getting a start. The man can't throw for 300 yards with 50 pass attempts in that system.

So here's my team:

QB: Bledsoe, Ramsey, and Harrington, with Vick and Brad Johnson on the bench

RB: Lewis, Tomlinson, Alexander, Davis, Ricky Williams, and Michael Pittman, with Anothony Thomas (bye), James Allen, and William Green on the bench (I'd prefer A-Train to Pittman)

WR: Moulds, Bruce, Keyshawn, McCaffrey, Price, and Gardner, with Booker (bye) and Thrash (bye) on the bench (I'd normally sit Gardner and Bruce)

TE: Chamberlain and Gonzalez, with Shockey on the bench. He'd start over Chamberlain, though.

K: Mare, Carney, and Cortez, with Edinger (bye) on the bench. Edinger usually starts over Cortez.

Did I do the right thing, or should I have gone for someone like Tom Brady? Keep in mind that winning the division (250 players) nets me $2000.

You can see why I'm worried.

How did you get all those good players on one team? Does this league just let each team take any player they want?
