Guest El Hijo Del Lunatic Report post Posted October 11, 2002 How did you get all those good players on one team? Does this league just let each team take any player they want? It's a salary cap league. You can take whoever you want, just as long as your starting lineup's "salary" is less than $30,000. The salary is based on fantasy points from the year before, and potential for this year. yup should of went after someone like Gannon, Brady, Trent Green, Griese I was thinking that, too, but they were all expensive (Gannon - $2770, Green - $2630, Griese - $2280), except for Brady, who really doesn't throw downfield enough for me. I got Harrington and Ramsey at the rookie salary - $1000 - and I really need only one of them to pan out. However, there's a good chance both of them won't. is McMichael from Miami available? Trade Shockey for him? Three things - 1.) TE's aren't THAT important (they help, but they only affect receiving yards and receiving average), 2.) Shockey's only got turf toe and should be back soon, and 3.) every time I drop someone and pick up another player, it costs me $10. As in honest-to-God, "we'll-put-this-on-your-credit-card-automatically" money. Normally, I wouldn't pay that, but since I have a chance to make a lot of money, I figure it's worth a shot. what no Raiders or Patriots for WR? these are the top 2 teams in passing in the NFL. They don't throw the ball downfield enough. Booker, Moulds, and Price are 1-2-3 in receiving right now. Keyshawn has just as many yards as Branch, and averages 4.4 more yards a catch; Thrash is comparable to Rice, but with 1.6 more YPC; Gardner's got as many yards as Troy Brown, but has 7.7 more YPC. Besides, I lead my league (25 teams) in redceiving yards AND receiving average, and am 6th or 7th in the division (250 teams) in both. So I'm not terribly worried about them. It's my RB's I worry about, as in starting James Allen. I still don't feel great about the moves, but I haven't been doing terribly well in the passing categories anyway, so taking a gamble isn't that bad an idea. Guest El Hijo Del Lunatic Report post Posted October 15, 2002 And the gamble pays off! Even with a terrible rushing week, I moved from 15th to 7th in my division. I had a decent receiving week, helped greatly by my backs. Ramsey and Harrington each threw for 300 yards. YAY!! LUNATIC - Pimpin' ho's and clockin' a grip like my name was Dolemite. Guest razazteca Report post Posted October 15, 2002 $10 surcharge for player changes that sucks, so is that real money or monolpy money? What was the cost to get into that league?
Guest converge241 Report post Posted October 23, 2002 so yet again my ugly dilema arises: Vick or Trent Green? both should have great weeks
Agent_Bond34 0 Report post Posted October 24, 2002 Don't feel too bad, I have a similar dilemma.. Trent Green, Michael Vick, or Tom Brady?
Guest Will Scarlet Report post Posted October 24, 2002 I have two dillemmas like that. I have to choose betwen Stephen Davis and Deuce McCalister(both are predicted to have big days, but Davis might have a bigger day than Deuce, but Deuce is the safer bet.) and I have to decide on a 3rd WR between Santana Moss, Antonio Bryant, and Jerome Pathon. Moss is the safest bet as he should get some yardage, but no TD's, Bryant seems to be projected by some to suck but they say he might get a TD anyway, and Pathon might sneak in with a TD as well. How I wish this was last week when I had a weak game where I romped, instead I have a game against a tough team who has weak matchups, and Peerless Price shall be neutralized because my opponent has Bledsoe and Moulds. Decisions decisions.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted October 24, 2002 I'd stick with Deuce. Deuce is a big part of the offense and unlike with the Redskins teams have to completely respect the pass with the Saints. Dungy and Indy will be looking to rebound from a bad game Monday so wouldn't be surprised to see them shut Stephan Davis down. Antonio Bryant has the best chance to get tds out of those three WRs. However you'd still be taking a chance with any of them, so just go with your feeling.
Guest converge241 Report post Posted October 24, 2002 Bond, dont go with Brady..Den will rough up the recievers
Agent_Bond34 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2002 I've got a funny feeling they will... So in that case, should I bench David Patten in favor of either Ed McCaffrey (recent waiver pickup) or Corey Bradford? One of these guys would be starting as my 3rd WR behind Terrell Owens and Peerless Price. Now I got a QB situation the exact same as yours now.
Guest LaParkaMarka Report post Posted October 25, 2002 McCaffrey was on waivers? Why? He's been a darn good number 3 for me, so I'd put him in. Of course, I have no clue how the other two guys are doing.
Agent_Bond34 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2002 Yeah, the guy that previously had McCaffrey dropped him to pick up Andre Davis. For what reason? I don't know. So, I dropped one of my defensive players (Shawn Springs) to pick up McCaffrey.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted October 25, 2002 I'd start Corey Bradford. He's Houston's go to guy and they are playing a shaky defense in Jacksonville.
Guest converge241 Report post Posted October 25, 2002 i second the yes on Bradford NE is right up there with shuting down WR one final plea for inluence: gun to your head: VIck or Tren Green?
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted October 25, 2002 Trent Green is playing a shaky, yet sometimes good defense in Oakland. Vick is playing a good defense with a shaky secondary in New Orleans. Vick has no real deep threats to test the Saints secondary and the front seven should be able to somewhat contain Vick. Green's job is made easier by the presense of Priest, he has better passing game weapons and he's playing in a big divisional game against a hated opponent. If i was forced to choose between them this week, I'd go with Trent Green.
Guest converge241 Report post Posted October 28, 2002 i went with Vick awesome stuff won my game for me.. I had green in there but @ 12:54 sent a change he scored me 32 points green would have been 17 trust me i was thinking the same thoughts you were though on the rationale

Agent_Bond34 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2002 Ok, now I've got that QB deal this week... Tom Brady @ Chicago, Trent Green @ San Francisco, or Michael Vick @ Pittsburgh. Who should I start?
Guest converge241 Report post Posted November 8, 2002 Brady, maybe Green no way Vick against Pittsburgh they will shut him down the same way baltimore did I chose Green over Vick in my money league
Guest converge241 Report post Posted November 8, 2002 Im pretty much decided , but someone give me an extra push.. Im benching tim brown and starting tai streets (vs KC) and Travis Taylor (vs Balt) in my $ league as my 2 wrs (my other recievers = kevin johnson, antonio bryant, and i just dropped darrius thompson to pick up Jeff Blake as trade bait) sound good?
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted November 8, 2002 Well it's hard to not start someone like Tim Brown playing in a big game versus a rival. However I'd have to agree with your WR plan this week. I believe JJ Stokes won't be playing and KC has no defense so Streets should get some looks and Jeff Blake likes throwing to Travis Taylor. So yes i'd start them over your other WRs.
Guest converge241 Report post Posted November 8, 2002 yeah its hard not to start brown, but denver will rough him up JJ is going to play but mariucci said he will be 3rd on the depth, so hopefully he wont take passes away from tai. KC-Sf should be a hell of a shoot out
Guest Will Scarlet Report post Posted November 8, 2002 I would start Tai Streets, personally. Heck, I am starting him this week, as he so happened to be available on the free agent list. I hope he has a big day because I need someone to replace Peerless Price in my lineup this week, and the thought of having Price, Streets, and Lavaranue Coles next week as my starting three WR makes me very happy. As for this week, two questions: I have to decide between Rod Gardner and Terry Glenn as my third WR. My heart says Gardner, but I figured I would ask. And for my kicker, I am still torn on Jay Feely(Atlanta) and Ryan Longwell. I am thinking of using Feely because he has done well since I picked him up off the free agent list(people in my league have a bizarre aversion to signing kickers.) but Longwell has the easier game. I figure Longwell should get some extra point attempts, but perhaps not many field goals, while Feely should get more field goals attempts against a tougher opponent in Pittsburgh. I just wonder if I may be totally wrong in thinking that.
Guest converge241 Report post Posted November 8, 2002 go with feely, pack will score left and right but i bet atl will get stopped in the red zone, deferring to Feely isnt something wrong with Gardner? im not positive but i think there was a blurb on fanball.com
Guest Smark Hammill Report post Posted November 8, 2002 This is what I'm going to war with this weekend: QB Brooks RB Jordan RB Hearst WR Bruce WR Burress TE Mili K Mare D/ST 49ers Funny thing is: I actually have a chance to win this week with that crap.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted November 8, 2002 Smark Hammill your RBs look weak
Guest converge241 Report post Posted November 8, 2002 can you try dumping Jordan and get Mungro or the other Ricky Williams? what about trading with the GM that has Curtis (so he can have insurance)?
Guest converge241 Report post Posted November 15, 2002 allright goddamnit I really should start a "one and only Vick or Green" thread but ill ask again.. Im leaning Vick cause while Trent should go nuts on the Buffalo "whats defense" Bills..Atl should have a shootout with NO like last time..plus of course Vick is bound to get more rush yards (which are worth more in my league)
Guest LaParkaMarka Report post Posted November 16, 2002 I would take Vick, but I dunno...I vaguely recall Green putting up pretty decent numbers. Though Tony Gonzalez having no/few receptions week is a bad sign. Now for my own question: Which WRs should I go with this week? I have Terrell Owens, Rod Smith, and Ed McCaffery as my usual starters, with Laveranues Coles as my backup. Smith has been putting up lower numbers than I've been expecting, and Pennington seems to give Coles a ton of looks. Denver plays Seattle and the Jets play Detroit, so both are playing somewhat soft defenses. Should I stick with what I have or stick Coles in there somewhere? Guest converge241 Report post Posted November 18, 2002 *hopes you went with Owens* i took Vick myself and i won handidly now of course im working on a trade with the guy who had Mcnabb Trent Green for Terrell Owens (i have Vick as my starter and Blake as a backup)
Guest LaParkaMarka Report post Posted November 18, 2002 You think he'll take Green for Owens? That's a pretty ballsy trade on his part, especially with Owens putting up such terrific numbers. In my league there are a few temp-type QB's just on waivers...a guy like Brad Johnson could fill in for an injured QB. But hey, if he goes for it it's ultra win-win for you. I haven't benched Owens all season, except for the bye week. Owens rocks. It was mainly Smith/McCaffery/Coles that I was split about. They seem to be getting very similar yardage right now, so it's somewhat moot.
