Guest Downhome Posted August 17, 2002 Report Posted August 17, 2002 I'm just currious, that's all! I wasn't sure if this should go here, or the polls/lists forum, so move it if you can, or keep it here, whatever. So how much wrestling do you actually watch? Do you watch it at every chance you can when it's on TV? Do you watch tapes when it isn't on TV? If so, how much of it, and also what, do you watch? I watch 13 hours of wrestling, just on TV every week. Add to that the various tapes that I am always watching, researching, studying, etc... and it adds up to a total of about 20-24 hours every single week. Yeah, I have a "life" other than this, but I find time to watch it whenever I am at home doing nothing, when I'm in bed trying to get to sleep, and other various times like that. Basicly, I don't watch anything on TV really, except for Pro. Wrestling, SNL, CNN, and MLB. So guys... ...what about you!? Sincerely, ...Downhome...
Guest NazMistry Posted August 17, 2002 Report Posted August 17, 2002 I probably watch about 12 hours a week from TV. And I usually watch a random PPV from my tapes once a week.
Guest Fook_Hing_Ho Posted August 17, 2002 Report Posted August 17, 2002 On a non-ppv week, between 12-15 hours. If there's a ppv and I'm watching it, add 4 hours (ppv + heat).
Guest papacita Posted August 17, 2002 Report Posted August 17, 2002 I've got maybe 800 wrestling tapes and barely watch any of them
Guest Nevermortal Posted August 17, 2002 Report Posted August 17, 2002 10 or so. (All WWE programming, NWA TNA)
Guest Downhome Posted August 17, 2002 Report Posted August 17, 2002 I've got maybe 800 wrestling tapes and barely watch any of them Hmmm, then why don't you send a few of those over my way?
Guest The Czech Republic Posted August 17, 2002 Report Posted August 17, 2002 5 hours: Raw, Velocidential, Heat. Every now and then I watch an old tape, and on avery reare occasion I watch Smackdown.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted August 17, 2002 Report Posted August 17, 2002 Smackdown and RAW. Occasionally I'll watch Heat or Velocity/Confidential.
Guest Downhome Posted August 17, 2002 Report Posted August 17, 2002 Do you guys remember when wrestling was on almost every day of the week? Monday--- WWF RAW & WCW Nitro Tuesday --- None Wendsday --- WCW Thunder Thursday --- WWF Smackdown Friday --- ECW Hardcore TV Saturday --- WCW Saturday Night's Main Event Sunday --- WWF Sunday Night Heat (PPV's twice a month also) ...and yes, I would make it a point to watch every single show somehow. :D
Guest Big McLargeHuge Posted August 17, 2002 Report Posted August 17, 2002 2: Raw and Smackdown. And the occasional PPV plus fast forwarding through crap.
Guest JaKyL25 Posted August 17, 2002 Report Posted August 17, 2002 7 for SURE (Raw, SD, Heat, Velocity, Confidential), and usually some other old stuff from the past decade/'89 NWA. I just recently watched over a decade's worth of classic matchs, at about a pace of 5 hours a day, for 4 weeks straight to research my "50 favorite matches" thread in the "Lists" forum. On top of the WWE 7. I'm insane. If there's one good thing about the death of WCW though, it's that it's given me a LOT more free time. 7 hours a week of free time, as a matter of fact.
Guest Will Scarlet Posted August 17, 2002 Report Posted August 17, 2002 Lately, only 7. I remember I used to watch so much more. I kinda miss Thunder, as I used to make it a high priority to watch it every Wednesday. I loved that show. Heck, when I was younger, I used to watch hours upon hours of squash matches with 1 hour of feds like USWA, SMW, ECW, and a few others on during weekdays, then they had Raw on Monday, WWF Challenge, Mania, and Superstars on Saturday. WWF All-American Wrestling and WCW Main Event on Sundays. WCW Pro Wrestling, WCW Saturday Night, and a syndicated WCW program that was basically a highlight show, but once did show an exclusive Maxx Payne-Johnny B. Badd match, on Saturdays as well. I miss those times, there was just so much wrestling on tv. I loved Saturdays as I could not wait to watch WCW Saturday Night on TBS. Now it is like, "What happened?" All the weekend shows were slowly cancelled off, most of the feds are gone now, and only the WWF remains. *sigh.*
Guest The Electrifyer Posted August 17, 2002 Report Posted August 17, 2002 I watch about 6 or 7. But whenever specials come on, I make sure to watch them. Also, I'll occassionaly watch a tape if I'm bored.

So if you had good ol' channel 26, you truly did have wrestling every day.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted August 17, 2002 Report Posted August 17, 2002 It's sad. It's starting to control my life and there's 3:5 odds whatever I'm going to talk to somebody about is wrestling related. D:
Guest The Electrifyer Posted August 17, 2002 Report Posted August 17, 2002 I think at one time in Canada, we had: Monday- WWF Raw is War Tuesday- WWF Raw is War repeat Wednesday- WCW Nitro Thursday- WCW Thunder & WWF Smackdown(I'm not sure if SD! was in Canada at this time) Friday- ECW on TNN Saturday- WWF Metal or Superstars & WCW Saturdaynight Sunday- WWF Sunday Night Heat So pretty much, wrestling was on everynight, it was just a repeat on Tuesday.
Guest Retro Rob Posted August 18, 2002 Report Posted August 18, 2002 I always watch Raw live. I usually tape SmackDown! and just watch certain parts. Velocity depends on whether or not I dig the spoilers. I review Confidential, so obviously I watch that every week. I also review one old tape each week and that's about it. I'm just like Papacita. We have a TON of tapes, yet rarely watch them.
Guest Downhome Posted August 18, 2002 Report Posted August 18, 2002 I'm just like Papacita. We have a TON of tapes, yet rarely watch them. Ok, then just like I asked him... ...why don't you send a few of em my way?
Guest JHawk Posted August 18, 2002 Report Posted August 18, 2002 Obviously, the normal 7 hours every week (Raw, SD, Heat, Velocity, Confidential), and probably another 12-18 hours a week worth of tapes so I can try to catalog my massive collection.
Guest Retro Rob Posted August 18, 2002 Report Posted August 18, 2002 Downhome, I don't do much trading/selling at this point. I can't be bothered with the dubbing and sending out process.
Guest BAR Posted August 18, 2002 Report Posted August 18, 2002 I'm watching less and less nowadays but I still whip out the classics when necessary.
Guest Gamengiri2002 Posted August 18, 2002 Report Posted August 18, 2002 Let's see. I watch all wwe programming (sans heat) so that's six hours. Nwa Tna every week that's eight hours. Wildside on saturday nights, that's nine. the occasional, extra ghey new south wrestling would make it ten hours. Factor in my tape collection of which i always try to keep fresh in my mind and I would say on a regular week, I put away at least 18 hours of wrestling. 22 on ppv weeks. i need a life... wait... fuck that... nevermind... im gonna go watch my best of chris daniels tape.
Guest Chuck Woolery Posted August 18, 2002 Report Posted August 18, 2002 Only Raw. . I guess that makes me, like, not a smart mark.
Guest nWoScorpion Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 Hm..... 2:05:00 for RAW 2:00:00 for SD 1:00:00 Velocity 1:00:00 Confidential 1:00:00 Heat +PPVs on tape or other..... around 12-13 a week. Sometimes more.
Guest razazteca Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 Monday Raw Saturday CMLL & AAA Sunday CMLL & AAA, Heat so that makes 7-10 hours if Velocity is any good to tape and if AAA is watchable maybe add a few more hours depending on what I downloaded
Guest Si82 Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 On a non-ppv week it'll probably be 9 hours a week. That's Raw, Smackdown!, Velocity, Classics and I usualy watch a wrestling tape a week (this week...WWF In Your House 2). Add another 3 to 4 hours on a PPV week. So that's about 39 a month. Plus I sometimes watch a wrestling tape if I'm bored.
Guest Just call me Dan Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 Maximum would be this: 2 hours : Raw 2 Hours: Smackdown 1 Hour: Heat 1 Hour: Confidential 3 hours: PPV And since I haven't gotten cable in my room yet, I just pop in tapes from 2001 and watch them as I go to sleep, so I'd say an hour and a half a night times seven, that would be 10 and 1/2 hours. Maximum total (yes this has happened) 19.5 Hours of wrestling in one week.
Guest DragonflyKid Posted August 19, 2002 Report Posted August 19, 2002 Raw- 2 hours Smackdown- 2 Velocity/Confidential(I only tend to watch every other week)- 2 Heat- 1 I'm getting some puro tapes this week so I can probably add at least 3 hours per week for the next month.- 3 I have been lazy about watching Lucha on Galavision since they moved from tuesday to saturday.- 0 I rarely get PPV- 0 ___________________ 10 hours average 4 hours minimum 16 hours maximum
Guest SlowChemical6 Posted August 20, 2002 Report Posted August 20, 2002 2 hours for RAW, 2 hours for Smackdown!, and on rare occasions I watch either Velocity, Heat, or Confidential. I say "either" because I don't think that I have ever watched more than one of the B-shows in a given week. I'm always just flipping and it's like, "Hey, B-grade wrestling." So 4-5 hours of WWE TV per week. I watch a lot of old matches and new stuff from my DVD and tape collection. I don't know how many hours it adds up to, but it's not much because I usually single one or two matches out of a three-hour pay-per-view. I probably watch 10 hours of wrestling a week.
Guest converge241 Posted August 22, 2002 Report Posted August 22, 2002 Raw every week watch a tape of Smackdown on sat morning try to catch Velocity most of the time maybe every other NWATNA show most of the WWE ppvs when nitro and thunder were around though i sued to watch them , and heat, and jakked, and the ecw shows..i used to watch AWF for gods sake too!
