Is Trish the most complete package?

Recommended Posts

Guest Shanghai Kid 2002

It seems like Trish Stratus is the most complete Womens package the WWE has ever had.

She's hot..and she can wrestle. That's T n A and wrestling ability.

So with that in mind, would you say that she's the best female representive the WWE has ever had?

It's hard to say.

She's hot and she can wrestle, but she can't cut a promo to save her life.

In 96-97, Sunny was able to cut good promos and look damn fine, but she couldn't bump for shit.

It's all a question of what you're looking for in a female in the wwe.

Well obviously, when you look at a female wrestler, your looking for somebody who can wrestle...and Sunny was useful as a manager and as eye candy but couldn't wrestle her way out of a paper bag. You can say that Trish can't cut a promo, but she held her own in those backstage skits with Vince Mcmahon and the Rock.

Do you mean a good rep as a legitment athlete or a good rep as being attractive?

The main problem with Trish is that they can't decide whether she's mindless T&A for the fans or a legitimate women's wrestler.

Yea, she's hot, but no hotter than pretty much any other diva (barring Terri and Jackie). Where she really shines is wrestling-ability...

Alundra Blaze vs Trish Stratus at 'Mania 19! It's like... Rock vs Hogan... with women... or something.

Trish is far from a great wrestler at this point in her career. Look no further than her most recent match w/ Victoria.

Sure, she's improved 200%, but even after that she's a bit green.

Molly, when not in the extremely unflattering clothes she currently wears, looks damn good. She's got JACKIE beat in the booty department, in fact. She also may be the best wrestler out of all the women, but she has room to improve like all of them. Still, she started training for it only 3 years ago.

I think marks probably don't care as much about her wrestling, due to the fact that when she started wrestling, she had a bad habit of "popping out." They may watch her matches ONLY for hopes of that happening again.

I agree that Trish is the best allround women wrestler in the WWE at the moment as she can do a bit of everything.

SHe can hold her own when it comes to promo's, she looks good and she isnt that bad a wrestler.

The thing is, with no one really to feud with that can also wrestle (apart from Molly) her wrestling is only gonna get her so far. Plus the fact that the WWE make the womens matches rubbish by giving them so little time (when was the last time you saw a womens match longer than 4 or 5 minutes?)

Ivory.

And when she comes back from injury, Jazz.

If you're talking about wrestling ability, Molly beats everyone. She's totally unmotivated and hardly does any of the cool shit that she used to do, but if she wanted to, she could be the Malenko of that division. Trish has nothing on her. Jazz was actually a great monster heel for the division, too. I think it's safe to say that she was the one trully carrying it, as it totally went down the crapper once she jobbed the title to Trish in that hardcore tag match.

And how many promos has Trish cut since becoming a wrestler?

Not promos, backstage segments. She's been plenty in those from her one's with Vince to her kiss with the Rock. And she was fine in those.

You guys aren't getting my question. I'm not asking if you think Trish is the best wrestler or the best looking, i'm just stating that she may be the only WWE Diva who is great looking AND can wrestle. Surely Molly is better than average, but the comman fan doesn't think she's hotter than Trish, Stacy, or Torrie. Trish can hold her own in a beauty contest, and a wrestling contest. So do you think Trish is the most valuable/complete package of a diva that the WWE has ever had?

No, I don't. Playing up her beauty if fine, but if you have a guy like Jerry Lawler on commentary who doesn't know how to talk about that aspect of her without practically ejaculating on the spot and hopelessly degrading her, then what's the point of her wrestling ability? The WWE tries to put her over as a legit wrestler, and then shoots themselves in the foot by booking her to be a total skank at the same time. So she's not valuable, because any legitimacy she has as a wrestler is killed by the fact that the WWE wants her to be a porn star at the same time.

Perhaps thats why Chyna did so much, she was a good wrestler but couldnt really be booked for her looks, as she wasnt all that great looking.

So what have we learned from this? LOL If your a women and want to be recognised as a WRESTLER then it helps to be ugly! LOL

Well, yeah, I suppose, although I don't share your opinion of Chyna being a good wrestler, or even a decent wresltes.

But most likely, the most possitive aspect of Jazz's heel run was that you knew she was never going to be on the cover of Divas magazine, or anything. She went out there and beat up other girls, and that was it.

I think Chyna would have been okay if she had never wrestled men; it exposed her weaknesses in the ring, relative to the men, anyway. I kind of liked her power stuff during her last little run in the WWF, though, but it only amplified the fact that she never should have been wreslting men in the first place, as she lacked the strength to throw them around, and she lacked the talent to put together a cohesive technical match.

At any rate, it's too bad that there wasn't any women's division to speak of during Chyna's original heel run; I personally would have enjoyed seeing her getting a Vader-like run at the Women's title.

Compared to the males, Chnya could not be described as a very good wrestler as she just did not have the strength.

However, when you compare her to the other women now in the WWE, Chyna was a good wrestler.

I would still consider it a stretch to call Chyna a good wrestler, even compared to the women; I would consider Jacqueline, Ivory, and even Tori all to be better wrestlers than Chyna. Nonetheless, I consider myself a Chyna mark (probably not to the extent of papacita), and would have liked to see her pushed as a monster heel versus the women.

Chyna also had size on her side aswell though.

I think its easy for spots to look crappy as most of the women just fold up like rag dolls at the smallest of hits

at least with Chyna, her size made her look more convincing.

Also watch a women run the ropes, the ropes learly win every time, LOL!

At least with Chyna, her size prevented this!

Ivory's going to be doing Tough Enough 3. =P However, anyone who picked Jackie freakin' Gayda or trained her probably should not be used as a trainer for 3. Ugh...

Based on a combination of good looks and in-ring ability:

1. Alundra Blayze

2. Ivory

3. Tori

4. Trish

5. Molly Holly

I just remembered, a classic example of how wrestling ability means nothing: look at the title reign Stephanie had with the womens belt, she may have the looks but couldnt/cant wrestle to save her life! lol

No, that's an example of the title not meaning anything. It was used to get heat on Stephanie, it had nothing to do with her deserving it or not.

Didnt they give Steph the belt because they literally couldnt think of anything to do with the women's division

While i'm on the subject, Lita looks fine and can cut a decent promo (Oh, TAG) and she can wrestle to save her life, but shorten her opponents (life)

At the moment, I'd say Trish. Of course, I'd agree with the person who says Molly's been unmotivated lately. It seems that way when she's heel for some odd reason. Still my fave, though.

And her own. Remember she injured her neck FILMING A TV SHOW!

Of course, I don't think Lita looks good or can cut a decent promo (she sounds like a lifelong smoker with that voice). She's a lousy wrestler; all she can do is spots and she botches those.

I know Steph can't wrestle, but I don't think her having the title made it mean nothing. It actually made the title mean something because people wanted her to lose it so bad. When she lost the belt to Lita, it got a great reaction from the crowd.

I think Chyna made the title look meaningless, because she acted like she was too good for it and didn't even want it.

It made the title look so bad because all the women challening Steph for it (well, both of them) were so incompitent that they couldn't beat Steph, who isn't a wrestlers at all. It was just a carbon copy of WCW's "David Flair wins he US Title" angle because they had absolutley no idea what to do with the Women's title, and therefore they logically thought Steph could get heat from it. The title, after being on Steph, didn't mean anything because it showed that the most meaningfull thing they could do with it was put it on Stephany friggin MchMahon, which is simply sad. Plus, it's not like the title meant anything beforehand. This is a title that got dropped in a trash can, put on Sable, and then burried. There really wan't any tradition for them to kill, so it's not that big a deal, just in general, women mean nothing but T&A in the WWF, and that's how it's always been, which is what makes the topic of this post so ridiculous.

Perhaps a better question for RickyChosyu should be, "if they gave women's wrestling a legitimate push in the WWE, would you watch it?"
