Harrington or Gannon

I need a backup for Steve Mcnair on my F.B. Team.

I'm trying to decide between Joey Harrington and Rich Gannon.

I think I am gonna go with Gannon.Seems like the better

choice.

well Gannon has been successful with the Raiders but the major problem is that the team has a new head coach. As for Harrington well he is a rookie with the Lions, a team that could not win no matter what.

 

I have the same problem as both are on my Smart Mark team, I am starting Gannon anyway

I say joey harrington. Gannon has slipped lower the last few years. Joey has quite the arm adn the speed not to mention knowledge. I saw many games in oregon from this young man. Joeys the pick imo

Go with Gannon. The receiving corp he's got means he's going to rack up some sick yardage. Tim Brown's going on his 10th straight 1000 yd. season. and then there's Jerry Rice....well, it's Jerry Fuckin' Rice, you know.

Gannon = Rice/Brown as WRs

 

Harrington = Crappy team, which will force him to throw a lot

 

My answer = Gannon. The other one will probably be hurt 1/2 the season anyway.

Go with Gannon mostly because of the WRs he has to throw to. He has Jerry Rice as one of his WRs to throw to, you just can't go wrong with that, ditto for Tim Brown.

Agree on Gannon. He will put up big numbers as long as he's healthy and the Raiders usually have a good line, plus he has two future Hall of Famers to throw to.

 

Most importantly, he'll be starting the whole season. In Detroit Mike McMahon is the starter until Harrington eventually replaces him. Even when Harrington does replace McMahon, he'll make rookie mistakes and his recieveing corps isn't anywhere near as good as Oakland's so he won't put up mind boggling numbers.

That's pretty much what I was going to say. Harrington might not play at all this year (I think he will, but maybe McMahon will have a good season). Take Gannon, he won't dissapoint, and he might put up better numbers then your starter.

I'm not qualified to reply to this thread. I hate Steve McNair as a fantasy starting QB. I'd feel more comfortable with Gannon as my starter than McNair. But anyway, in answer to your question...

 

If you're in a dynasty or keeper league, go with Harrington.

I would go with Gannon and start him over McNair. If Gannon's age catches up with him, it won't be until the season wears on. Get value from him while you can. Right now, he is better than McNair.

 

Harrington is crap except for keeper leagues.
