Guest ErekT2k Report post Posted August 20, 2002 Hehehe, Ash, I believe you will be killed in the next 24 hours for all those stuff you put in. The beginning was a little boring to my taste but in the middle of the match, it started getting wackier and wackier and the ending was just brilliant. "HVT: Ain't I a motherfucking stinker?" Guest Kibagami Report post Posted August 20, 2002 Ash: Put. The crack. pipe. DOWN. Also...I won? Swank. I'm not sure how THAT happened...actually, I am. Z stayed up all night writing his match. Your flow is off when you stay up all night. How do I know this? I did the same thing the first time I wrote against him. We are now tied at 1 win apiece, oh insomniac blue-haired one...one day we will rematch with adequate rest! That is all until tomorrow afternoon... S. Guest AnnieEclectic Report post Posted August 20, 2002 holy crap.... I don't know who Thoth will kill more, Tom or Ash. Maybe both... holy crap.... Silent has so far: 1) nearly killed Ced Ordonez 2) No Sold the Splashdown convincingly 3) Nearly killed Z .... what about Silent? yeah... I feel dirty... -Annie

Guest 5_moves_of_doom Report post Posted August 20, 2002 ... Whoops, forgot to write, legitametely as well. Oh well, good match from the duo, beat TNT like the bitch he is... spare Frost, he's cool. Good show all round. Bah! That is all. Oh, and Ash, my two silly matches completely OWNED that one...it sucked...sucked sucked sucked....ok, so the Thoth part was funny to the few people who got it [Tom, me, CIA, Z, Raynor, and Silent I believe]...but still, it sucked. I have interperated this as a challenge, and challenge I will accept. Ash, from now on, when our opponent's no-show we'll have to one-up eachother's silly matches...even though you can't touch mine. Bwahaha. Uh-huh...anyhoo, good stuff from JD, Edwin, LDP, and Annie...and an ~UPSET~ of doom from Danno and Xero. PPV is shaping up NICE. Read Ash's match as I mentioned above, and yeesh, this one was craaaazzzzzy. Maybe a bit TOO crazy at times...I mean, at the end there it looked like you were just trying to get everyone in the history of the fucking fed a cameo...which I assume, you were. Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted August 20, 2002 Zing zing. Storm was a bit off, but Smarkdown? Excellent PPV hype show. By the numbers: --Great opening promo from JD. The vignettes throughout the show with the spray paint on the truck and the conference in Creative Control's locker room all lead to the mark-out final moment after the main event. This series of promos honestly felt like something that'd play well on TV; JD was clearly one of the stars of tonight's show, even without a match. The mystery man is odd, too...I have three guesses, but only one's realistic. Here's hoping the PPV combo of mystery man and Thugg match make for some good times. --Silent's promos with Wilson! Oh man, I was rolling with laughter and living in fear all at the same time. I haven't seen better bit than "piano wire or steel cane?" in quite some time. All I have to say is that if my two biggest enemies have an understanding and a working relationship...well, poop. Better find out what's on that bloody tape, and fast. -I'll throw Annie's match under promo country, since it was so short and existed mainly to set up tensions with Silent for the PPV. Did its job real well, though, and gave Ced a good out till he gets his stuff sorted. The bit with the Splashdown no-sell at the end was a bit confusing, because since the announcers didn't say anything right away, I thought Silent had just reversed out of it and bailed away...but that's quite the setup in any case. Should be a good match, and quite possibly the sleeper of the night at the PPV. --Raynor doesn't show up...hmm. Where have all my Carnies gone? I'll have to look into this... --Strangler and Erek get back on track with a big set-up for the PPV. The retirement match stip came out of nowhere seemingly, but it's obviously been in the works for a while, I guess. I'm really hoping for the retirement match to end in a screwjob so nobody goes, but it never really happens that way, does it? Ladder match is interesting, though I'm surprised Strangler would agree to that in-character, because the ladder IS Erek's playground, after all. --Uh...Ash's match also can live in promo country, or maybe "bad trip" country would be better suited. This was like watching TNT's match from Storm viewed through three tabs of acid and a thunderstorm. And somehow, a title shot comes out of it...heavy, man. Heavy. Matches --Only three real, full-length matches, which is disappointing, but they were all pretty solid. --Danny and Xero win with a goodie. I'm impressed that they got something so lengthy in for a Smarkdown. The psychology and tag dynamic was really hot here, really fast-paced...though the match itself didn't feel like the 25 minutes stated, more like 15. Awesome opener, though--the elbows are still working, and the repetition of the Fisherman's Buster plus the unique and simple counters out of Sacred's Cruel Fate really had me into the match. Breggan doing an enzuigiri was a little weird, but if Kane can do, I bet he can. Commentary and some descriptive passages were a little sloppy, but a proofreading job could handle a lot. PPV match should be great when the two tag teams get unleashed on each other sans word limit. --Silent over Z in the cage is my favorite match tonight. Exquisite pacing and a perfect blend of seriousness and humor, nailing the characters really well, and some great spots like the accidental crossbody or the genuinely sick Fisherman's buster off the top of the cage. Awesome finish too, with Z taking one helluva bump. Raynor's missing, Z looks to be half dead...uh, Mag, we'd better start kicking some ass. --Main event: A million thanks to Pete for writing a kickin' match opening and giving me some great stuff to work off of. The leg attacks were his idea and I think I managed to work them pretty well. I think the match plays a little short because of the extended intros, lengthy descriptions, and big setup for the promo afterwards, but I thought we put together a pretty hot little match that addressed all the important tensions of the 6 individuals involved. Stuff I wished I'd seen --Something from Flesher! I know he's not totally back till the PPV, but it would have been great to just have a "Flesher ripping into XF9" promo or something before the Ash and Tod "match." Board promo before the PPV, damn you! I need my Superior Fix. --A little more direction for guys like Mag, Thoth, and Renegade, who didn't really have a feud set up...but they've all fit into the PPV card pretty nicely anyway, so it's not too big. --A little more from myself. I was really busy this weekend and wanted to get a promo in addressing Raynor's absence and the continuing Carnival situation, but that'll have to wait for the board. Go me. Short on matches, but big and solid on hype, this was a pretty perfect show for it's PPV-hype function.

PPV match should be great when the two tag teams get unleashed on each other sans word limit. Agreeded about the time limit. The match just felt really long to me for some reason, I would put it under 15 minutes actually. The match also had no proof reading, so that explains the sloppiness.
