SmackDown1 Segments - Funaki/Nidia/Molly Holly, Rey Mysterio, Kurt Angle

Funaki is loving every second of what he was doing in the lockerroom. Funaki see's Nidia and she's happy to see him and wanted to show off her feminality to him until Molly Holly appears on the scene with her hair in curlers. Molly told Funaki to leave. Nidia told Funaki to stay and told Molly as to why. Molly didn't like what Nidia likes to do but Nidia says she's open and doesn't mind showing what she has. Nidia and Molly will meet tonight for the Women's title and if Nidia wins, she will show the crowd what they want.

 

Rey Mysterio appears and Michael Cole talks to him about SummerSlam, eventually Kurt Angle gets in Rey's face and warned him not to get involved with his match tonight with Billy Kidman. Or else he'd break Rey's ankle.

Maybe they'll bring in Big Show from Raw to team with Angle.

SmackDown! Match #3 - Kurt Angle vs. Billy Kidman

 

9:33pm

 

Angle dominates Kidman for a couple mins and after a triple german suplex, Rey appears on the stage and Angle went after him but realized he was about to get counted out and got back in the ring at the 9 count. Angle regains control of the match and punishes Kidman in the corner. Kidman hits a desperation rollup but only got a 2 count. Angle hits a backbreaker on Kidman for a 2 count only. Angle retains control with a side suplex for only another 2 count. Angle goes to work on Kidman's kidneys with foot stomps. Kidman fires back with rights and lefts and then hits a hurricanrana on Angle and it sends Angle out of the ring. Angle sees a fan with a Rey Mysterio mask on and t-shirt. Angle yanks off the mask and then shoves the fan off. Kidman takes advantage of the distraction and hits a pescada press. Angle hits a facefirst bulldog much like an Acid Drop on Angle to get a 2 count. Kidman hits a spinning DDT for once again, a 2 count. Kidman attempts a Victory roll but Angle counters it into an ankle lock but Kidman counters it and hits an enziguri. Angle gets up and thwarts a Shooting Star Press attempt with a top rope belly-to-belly suplex for a 2 count. Angle accidently clotheslines the ref. Kidman pulls down the top rope and Angle falls to the outside. Angle gets a steel chair and gets into the ring and misses Kidman but Kidman gets a dropkick on the chair in Angle's face. The ref delayed and Kidman only got a 2 count. Angle hits the Olympic Slam and then Rey appears and flys off the top and connects with Angle's chest. Rey flees and Angle persues but this time, Angle doesn't return to the ring in time and gets counted out. After the match, Angle argues and then takes it out on Kidman with a fury.

Billy Kidman vs. Angle, how awesome, I just wanna see Smackdown for this match!!! Hope it gets some good time and Kidman goes over (he's been one of my favourites for a long time and deserves a big win)

Awww Countout, I suppose that's still something, Rey vs. Angle is soooo gonna rule at the pay per view, I hope that after that Angle can feud with Hurricane!!! How good would those matches be

They ran out of rookies, so I'm guessing it's Angle's job to get the cruiserweights over now.

Angle is a great wrestler, at first I thought it would be a styles clash, but then I remembered how good Angle is and realised that this match could rule, and what is wrong with getting cruisers over? I think it's about thime they were allowed to hang with the big boys. Personally I want Angle to win after a hard fought match that gets Rey over (ala Edge at Backlash). But if Rey wins I will still be happy.

It's bad because Angle has to get everyone over. While HHH hasn't put anyone over in his entire career.

Yeah HHH is pretty greedy, but still Angle seems selfless and works hard. Maven said on Fox Sports last night Angle is the ultimate professional and it is pretty true.

Having the cruisers wrestling the "big boys" is all fine with me, but why not have someone other than Rey. He is clearly the smallest of the bunch, and to me he seems completely out of place when in the ring with Angle. It may have been smarter to bring him in to challenge for the cruiserweight title before pushing him to semi-main event status upon his debut. He may be "over" with the crowd now, but his style of wrestling just doesnt look like it will work with Angle's more mat based style. To me Rey's at his best when both he and his opponent are able to use speed, quickness and aerial attacks as their primary offense, instead of being slowed down by the submission and power moves that make up angle's moveset.

Yeah, it would seem that way, but we'll see come Summerslam what they can pull off, I guess before then it's only speculation. You never know what they are gonna pull out

I'm all for a push of Kidman and other cruisers. But at the expense of Angle is just a dumb decision, the guy has been used to get others over too much already.

 

I'm thankful Angle only lost to Kidman by countout though, and not by pin or submission.

 

However, I also really hope that the WW_ follows up on this, so that the Kidman win won't be forgotten or wasted. Or else, the Angle job will be worthless, as both Kidman and Angle come out looking bad.

Actually HHH-Mankind's record was 2-1-1.

 

HHH defeats Mankind at KOTR

 

HHH and Mankind go to no contest at Canadian Stampede.

 

Mankind wins cage match against HHH at Summerslam.

 

Mankind into Cactus Jack defeats HHH in a street fight in MSG on Raw a couple of weeks after Summerslam.

 

 

Just for the record. To add, no one else has won a blowoff to a feud with HHH since.
