Guest jimmy no nose Report post Posted August 22, 2002 Which team do you think is the most overrated this preseason? I'm going to say the Dolphins are. Everyone I see is looking at them like they are a lock to make the playoffs with Ricky Williams at running back. I don't think they'll be that good at running the ball unless the offensive line really steps up and plus they have Jay Fiedler at QB.
Guest converge241 Report post Posted August 22, 2002 i dont see he dolphins being worse than last year and theyve made the playoffs how many years straight? and trust me Dolphins are 32nd on my "depth chart" of favorite teams just my opinion though. I dont think they could win the superbowl or anything i think dallas might be a little overated. ive seen a lot of fans/columnists think that they are going to return to elite team land/win the division.. i think they have an outside shot at the playoffs (i like em 3rd in the division) but i think they are 2 years away from being a powerhouse player. Agent_Bond34 0 Report post Posted August 22, 2002 St Louis, Oakland, Miami and Tampa Bay are all overrated. These teams are expected to do well in the playoffs and come up short in the end, especially Miami and Tampa Bay.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted August 22, 2002 Dallas is overrated with all the talk about the greatest defense in the land with all of the free agents. The Offense will still be extremely weak as the whole system must now revolve around Emmit as the WRs are injuried prone and Jerry Jones will most likely change QBs every week just like last year. Guest converge241 Report post Posted August 22, 2002 Tampa Bay? come up short in the playoffs? no, that would *NEVER* happen!!! especially not year after year when they are always picked
Guest danielisthor Report post Posted August 22, 2002 So far this preseason, i will go with Washington and the whole "Spurrier" crap. If he continues with his offense in the NFL, he's going to need 10 qb's to make it through the season. He's not going to be running up against any Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Kentucky and Mississippi's any time soon that he can run the score up on.
Guest meanmaisch Report post Posted August 22, 2002 I think it might be the Eagles. They have a decent defense and a decent quarterback, but they might have trouble scoring points. Their wide recievers suck, with the exception of James Thrash. The running back situation will be tough, as they really can't count on Staley or Levens in the long haul. They'll be fine if they keep the opposing scores down, but if they can't, it could be a tough year. I don't see them dropping below .500, but I don't see them in the NFC championship game either. Guest converge241 Report post Posted August 22, 2002 the wr's in philly are scary.. i wonder why they didnt take some cap room and pick one up.. there were a lot around this year and daniel, i think the skins will actually have the D will win more games than the fun n gun

From watching Hard Knocks, I wouldn't be surprised if Hutchinson takes Carter's starting job. The way they do the stories it also makes you want to see these rookies make the team, even though half of them don't have a real shot.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted August 22, 2002 St. Louis. It has to be the Rams.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted August 22, 2002 I dont know about the Redskins and Buccaneers they could live up to the hype as they both have Head Coaches that are offensive minded. The Redskins do play Cowboys and Cardinals this season right?
Guest redbaron51 Report post Posted August 22, 2002 St. Louis for sure, if faulk or warner goes down so does the team. Tampa has the talent, but they are chokers from what playboy has predicted that the Steelers are going to win.
Guest TestKick Report post Posted August 22, 2002 It's probably just that I'm from Buffalo, but a lot of people are talking how much better the Bills will be this year... and it's bullshit. Their defense is basically the same this year, plus Chidi Anahotu. If Same Cowart gets injured this year again, they're screwed, because they only have washed-up linebackers who can fill the role. Clements is going to be a starting corner, and he'll still get burned a few times a game. The offense may be better without Rob Johnson, but Drew Bledsoe is gonna get sacked a bunch of times... with an unproven left tackle in Jonas Jennings. Eric Moulds is the most overrated WR in the league. I can't see the Bills doing any better than 6-10.. and people are talking playoffs for this new, improved team. Ha. Guest jimmy no nose Report post Posted August 22, 2002 It probably is just Buffalo that is talking playoffs for the Bills, but I have heard a bunch of NFL "experts" say how the Bills will be a .500 team this year. I think they have a shot at it.
Guest redbaron51 Report post Posted August 22, 2002 7-9 for the bills this year, and in a few years i think buffalo will be a dominate football team
Guest cartman Report post Posted August 22, 2002 Who is Sports Illustrated predicting to win this year? You can count them out whomever it is. Buffalo will be marginal at best, Miami is the most overrated BY FAR.
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted August 22, 2002 (is greatly relieved by no one saying the Packers) I love how the Packers seemingly sneak up on everyone every year. I've managed to get their record right the last two years(well, last year I said they'd go 11-5, they went 12-4). I'm calling another 12-4 season, but they win their division this year. As for overrated teams, I don't really know. Every other team always seems so much better than my favorites. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted August 23, 2002 "If Same Cowart gets injured this year again, they're screwed, because they only have washed-up linebackers who can fill the role. Clements is going to be a starting corner, and he'll still get burned a few times a game." Even though he's gone...I have to say: Cowart doesn't play there anymore. He's with the Jets and they don't know when he'll be able to return. They signed London Fletcher to replace him...and although he isn't as good as Cowart was...he doesn't have the injury problems and he is a better leader (which is something they sorely lacked.) Clements has looked good...so I don't know what you have been watching. Also...they Ahanotu isn't the only new D player...Fletcher, Eddy Robinson and Billy Jenkins all provide upgrades over weak spots last year. They also improved their terrible special teams by getting a better kicker and a kick returner. 8-8 is a legit possability.
Guest Zero_Cool Report post Posted August 23, 2002 Miami is my pick for my overrated team, simply because you just know they won't come through in the clutch.
Guest The Voices In Your Head Report post Posted August 23, 2002 I was thinking about saying St. Louis [after all, they just lost 31-10 against San Diego] but they're really being cautious and resting most of their backs & receivers, [Warner played like 2 series tonight, and I don't think Faulk played] so I think I'm gonna have to go with Oakland & Miami. Guest Will Scarlet Report post Posted August 23, 2002 I agree with those who are saying Miami is overrated. I do not think Jay Fiedler could carry any team deep into the playoffs, let alone the Super Bowl.
Guest Rabbi_wilson13 Report post Posted August 23, 2002 Pffft...Jay Fiedler, once he gets rolling, is a solid NFL QB. He didn't lose them that game against Baltimore. And he won them some games late, like Oakland, Buffalo and Indy. They may be over rated, but they're still gonna be a very good team. Whose overrated? The Steelers. With Kordell (Or maybe not with the KO) at the helm, they're doomed to fail. Randle El will be a nice surprise, but the Bus is bogging down and Plexiglass Burress will be lucky to make it through the whole season.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted August 23, 2002 Jay Fieldler is a decent qb that plays well if he has a decent running game. Rams actually can survive without Faulk, but if Warner goes down they are fucked because they have no qb depth.

Guest phoenixrising Report post Posted August 28, 2002 I'd have to say Washington. Sure, the offense is putting up numbers in the preseason, but it's against the second- and third-team defenses. And I'm not sold on Wuerffel at QB...Matthews maybe, he has at least been a decent NFL QB. However, they'll be in playoff contention even if the offense fails cause their defense is loaded with impact players - Bruce Smith, Jeremiah Trotter, LaVar Arrington, Jessie Armstead (that may be the best linebacking corps in the NFL), and Champ Bailey. I had Philly as a sure bet to go to the NFC Championship game again this year, but now I'm not so sure. They had three needs in the draft - wide reciever, running back and defensive tackle. They took one running back...and something like four secondary guys. And they let Trotter go. Little nitpicks though, if they can hide them well they're still one of the best teams in the NFC. Guest bravesfan Report post Posted August 28, 2002 ...bah gawd...no one mentioned the Jets yet? Good lord...they're depending on an injured Vinny Testaverde AGAIN?!? Couldn't they have gone out and got something called a WIDE RECEIVER to take the load off of Martin? Santana Moss will make a splash coming off of injury, but the whole height issue comes into play here. Add to that- he's gonna return punts and kickoffs as well. Anyways, they lost their best OL to the expansion draft (Young), as well as their 2 CB's (Aaron Glenn and someone else who escapes me at this moment). Both sides of the ball are questionable in many places, including the "revamped'" secondary, linebackers (w/o their big signee Cowart), Testaverde's health (since's he STILL not healthy) and both their offensive and defensive line. BUT...since their schedule is mighty soft, they'll go 7-9 at their best, saving Herman Edwards his job.
Guest raptor Report post Posted August 28, 2002 I'm thinking that Spurrier's Redskins aren't as good as some people would like to think. There QB is DANNY WUERFEL. That alone should keep them out of playoff contention. Plus, if Spurrier keeps pissing of other teams by running up the score, some mediocre teams may really get up for their games against the Redskins and give them a lot of trouble. Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted August 28, 2002 Jay Fiedler sucks, he's colorblind and throws the ball to the opponents because he can't tell the difference, at least that's my theory. I think Miami's actually going to be pretty tough. My pick for the most overrated is the 'Skins. Spurrier's florida boys qb club is going to jerk-stick it BIG TIME, and Steve Gator's going to get turfed out in 3 years or less...mark my words.
