Guest Brian Posted August 24, 2002 Report Posted August 24, 2002 He didn't look comfortable, I agree, but he has had a year and his character has a different direction. Last year the tried to make him a bad-ass by doing the Austin gimmick with an Angle twist and pushing the American ties. And they booked him pretty weakly in matches; losing three out of four and a two week reign.
Guest BionicRedneck Posted August 24, 2002 Report Posted August 24, 2002 I think he was booked strongly. I mean Austin couldn't beat him at SummerSlam, he then beat Austin for the title on PPV. He lost the title back because of interference, and RVD was pinned in his next title shot so he didn't take the fall.
Guest Anglesault Posted August 25, 2002 Report Posted August 25, 2002 No, they won't turn Angle face; Faces win matches. And Angle's title reign was booked poorly, Bionic. He lost two of four matches and got beat down three times.
Guest The Czech Republic Posted August 25, 2002 Report Posted August 25, 2002 For the person wondering about SS being the second-biggest show of the year, my answer is yes, it is. First of all, it was the second PPV to come into existence (Royal Rumble was on USA its first year) and it is far removed enough from Wrestlemania and has traditionally been a major concept-free show in which big things happen and feuds are blown off. I would rank importance as so: Major Shows: Wrestlemania Summerslam Concept Shows: Royal Rumble Survivor Series King of the Ring Non "Big Five" Shows: No Mercy Backlash Judgment Day Armageddon Vengeance/Fully Loaded Vengeance/Armageddon I would've put InVasion as 6th highest but it was a one-shot.
