So Benoit, Angle, Eddy, and Edge deserve the title more than RVD does.

 

Angle: I have no problem with. The guy is a "total package" to rip a line off.

Benoit: Lacks the charisma and character development skills to be anything except a "killer".

Eddy: Hate to say it, but he'd probably have the "Jericho Problem". (Too short)

Edge: No real character ability except for being "goofy". Spear-happy moveset.

RVD: The most over of the bunch. While his offense may not be "technically sound" but he gets the crowd excited. That should be the KEY requirement for a person to hold the belt. His promos aren't overdone like The Rock's, or monotone like Benoit's. He just sounds like a normal guy. That makes him easy to identify with..and cheer for.

 

Good matches aren't necessarily a requirement for being a main eventer. God knows Hogan, Rock, and Austin aren't the most technical guys. However, they have the charisma about them that make them seem larger than life. Angle has it, and so does RVD. I hate to say it, but none of the other guys do.

 

Wouldn't it make sense to put the belt on a guy people react to? (Angle/RVD). This may sound off, but Benoit isn't as over to the average fan as he is here. Want to bet?

Austin was actually a 4 star ring general before he realized he didn't have to work anymore.

 

 

RVD not only sounds like an everyman. He has this great "Whatever" attitude that is so cool.

Eddie has more pure, raw talent in his stool than RVD does. Same applies with Benoit. RVD is pretty good, but the only reason people pop for him is because of his spotty moves. I have a real problem with the fact when he does these moves, he sometimes noticeably misses.

Benoit's promos/mic skills bore me. So, you KNOW they bore the casual marks.

Benoit was massively over in Japan, and the US several times, he has enough ring charisma and character to be an upper mid-card definately.

Ok, I agree, Benoit does deserve to win the title more than RVD. But would that be the right move for the company? No way. People want to see RVD. He is a main attraction. He out pops Triple H and sometimes the Rock.

 

Eddie deserves the title more than RVD? Fine. Would that be the right move for the company? No. Eddie isn't even close to being over enough.

 

Edge deserves the title more than RVD? Why? What has he done that makes him deserve it so much? Hell, around this time last year, he was only a tag wrestler. Give him time.

 

It would be much better for the company to put the title on RVD than any of the other 3. He produces exciting matches and is over enought to become champ.

I agree 100% Angle deserves it ahead of Eddie. Angle deserves it before anyone else, but thats a whole different story. He is a credible wrestler, with a greta look, personality, and charisma. The WWE should be basing their company around the guy

If you know anything about WWF/E, then you know that in ring skill isn't what puts guys on top, charisma isn't what puts guys on top, and promo skills aren't what put people on top. It's all about who they think will make the most money. If enough people are willing to pay to see someone, then they will be on the top of the card. The whole crowd could be chanting RVD untill their voices are gone, but if he can't raise that quarter hour number so Sega or Columbia Pictures say "Hey, a lot of people tune in to see that RVD guy. I'll pay you whatever you want Vince, as long as I can get my commercial spot either before or after his match!" then he isn't going to be on top. It isn't as black and white as many of you think.
