(The alarm clock flies off the nightstand and lands with a crunch on the floor. A yawn escapes the mouth of the Hardcore Queen, lying in be with her mate, Molly. Molly rubs her eyes and looks over at the Angel with a quizzical look...)

 

Molly: *yawn* weren't you going to sleep in today?

 

Annie: *rubbing her eyes* yeah, but I'm so used to setting the alarm.... dammit... well, no use wasting time, c'mere hon...

 

(Annie E tries to move Molly closer to her but she backs off just out of reach.)

 

Molly: Uh-uh, not until I get a couple answers to questions you've been dodging.

 

Annie: *groaning* Not again, seriously, this isn't a big deal.

 

Molly: *sits up rigidly straight* NOT a big deal? From the hype you're essentially fighting evil incarnate and that's not a big deal?

 

Annie: *sighs* Alright.... shoot.

 

Molly: What... are you going to do about Silent? He just walked away from your finisher, you act as if that's incinsequential.

 

Annie: It is.

 

Molly: Explain.

 

Annie: It doesn't matter. I know his style, he knows mine. We're both technically sound, we're both gluttons for punishment, we're both fast and strong.... so I obviously have the pure advantage.

 

(The look on Molly's face clearly shows her disbelief.)

 

Annie: Look, it's real simple. Silent, is the Slaughterer. If the SWF was a huge school playground, he'd be the bully punching your best friend to get your toys.

 

Molly: Can we assume that I find that analogy completely ridiculous?

 

Annie: Sure, except that it's a great one. Bear with me, Silent equals school bully, got it? Everyone's scared of him, no one wants to take him on.... but he's human, he's falliable. His style lends himself to weaknesses that are small but powerful. You just have to hit them.

 

Molly: And you're the one to do it right?

 

Annie: Exactly. See, I was the kid getting beat up to get your toys. So I found myself a little air rifle and some BBs.... found my way to the top of the school building... and popped a few shots off. One hit his neck where he slapped it, probably thinking it was a bug. The one on his back made him turn around.... where the third was waiting to go straight into his eye, taking the big bully down.

 

(Molly's jaw drops, an evident look of disgust on her face...)

 

Molly: That's awful!

 

Annie: It's how you play. You can't take him on straight up.... so you play to your strengths. Annie bests Silent. I win.

 

Molly: .... so that's it, you're going to gouge his eyes out and then pin him?

 

Annie: *sighing* No.... I'm going to concentrate on his weaknesses, the ones I know he has. After that... I destroy him without a second thought. I let him survive me once, he won't live to see the day after this time.

 

Molly: ... I don't like the tone of that.

 

Annie: I'm sorry but it's kill or be killed.

 

Molly: Stop that! This isn't life or death! You're starting to sound like Allison!

 

Annie: *shouting* I'M NOT HER!

 

Molly: *also shouting* THEN STOP ACTING LIKE HER!!!

 

(Both women stare at each other in frustration and anger. Minutes pass as no one speaks. Suddenly a knock comes at their door....)

 

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK

 

Erek: Annie? Molly? ...are you two okay?

 

(Both women break off their stares, realizing the silliness of their argument.)

 

Annie: We're okay.

 

Molly: Fine, just a lover's spat.

 

Erek: You sure? Do you mind if I come in.

 

Annie: I don't know, I get jealous of men looking at Molly naked.

 

Erek: Enough said.... um... just try to keep it down, cool?

 

Molly: Sure, we're sorry.

 

Erek: No problem.

 

(The sound of footsteps slowly get quieter as Erek leaves the corridor heading back to his training. Annie and Molly look back at each other with sheepish grins.)

 

Annie: Look... I'm....

 

Molly: ...sorry about .....

 

.....

 

(Both women start to lightly chuckle)

 

Molly: I know that you aren't a killer, I'm sorry for screaming at you.

 

Annie: Me too, I just get so uptight about family comparisons.... I'm just going in there to take Silent out of the SWF. He's tortured enough people, and I just want it to stop.

 

Molly: Alright, it's just.... you were starting to sound like Alli when... you know... the Clan had her.

 

Annie: I got a bit melodramatic, that's all.

 

Molly: *kisses Annie then leans back* Hey, I'm just gonna go freshen up. Take a day off from training, let's just enjoy the day.

 

Annie: Alright.

 

(Annie watches as the Molly exits the bed walking towards the bathroom with no care taken to her lack of clothes. She turns her head and blows a kiss to the Angel, who smiles and blushes. Molly closes the door behind her... as Annie exhales....)

 

Annie: And Silent shall be out of the picture....

 

(Annie smiles, but the smile shows years of sadness and pain behind it...)

 

 

 

Annie: ...as the Assassin goes over the Slaughterer.....
