Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted August 26, 2002 That was the greatest PPV I have ever witnessed. All wrestling, no bullshit. I never marked out so much in my life for HBK, Brock, or my god. That was just AWESOME.
Guest Midnight Express83 Report post Posted August 26, 2002 If that is the greatest PPV in the world: Watch WMX-Seven or Great American Bash 89. Then say that again. That was a solid PPV, but will be utterly forgettable come next month.
Guest Respect The 'Taker Report post Posted August 26, 2002 Agreed hands down one of the BEST ive ever witnessed... The Rock wants to goto Hollywood? Well the fans let him know how they feel about that tonight... The Next Big Thing Has Arrived This has been the Taker Mark

Best show I've ever seen live.
Guest BionicRedneck Report post Posted August 26, 2002 I wish I was as positive about wrestling as you BretHart4Ever , really. But... although it was really enjoyable, it isn't the best PPV ever, IMO

Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted August 26, 2002 It isn't the best show I've seen this week. All the good was crammed into the first half of the show... and the seond half was bad. And I can't remember one match aside from Angle over Rey where the right person went over.
Guest Angle-plex Report post Posted August 26, 2002 Well, Test didn't win, so that's a plus.
Guest Respect The 'Taker Report post Posted August 26, 2002 Brock is the champ. I must now weep. And Angle was in the opener... Sad day for Anglesault...oh well, at least he won tonight, he hasn't done that in a good while This has been the Taker Mark
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted August 26, 2002 I LOVED this show. The kick-ass SummerSlam streak continues. Brock is the champ. And we're outta time, dammit!
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted August 26, 2002 Brock is the champ. I must now weep. You have to admit it's not going to be THAT bad. He's more over then he has been since he debuted.
Guest BigPoppaKev Report post Posted August 26, 2002 Oh yeah like TNA this week was better than that. Sorry bout I dont think so. I mean Styles/Lynn was good but overall SS was much better. From top to bottom there wasn't a match that you sat back and though "boy that was bad." But also you don't sick back and say "that was the best match ever." SS was the best WWE PPV of the year I would say.
Guest Bricks Report post Posted August 26, 2002 I liked SummerSlam. Not as much as X7, but it's up there in one of my fave PPVs.
Guest BionicRedneck Report post Posted August 26, 2002 It was WWE PPV of the year,IMO Worst part? Mitchell Cole in the main event or maybe Edge winning with a left arm spear, after Eddy had worked on that arm for the previous 8 minutes. Good performance by Mr. Michaels considering the shape he is in, although I thought the match dragged a bit. Well done to Brock too, at least he worked hard, right? Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted August 26, 2002 I'm sorry... maybe I just like to see guys do something when given 30 minutes. That appears to be just me though.
Guest RicFlairGlory Report post Posted August 26, 2002 bps, you're way too negative. I mean seriously dude, who are you, Scott Keith? For HBK/HHH you could make an argument for 4-stars, you got your precious RVD/Benoit match, which is probably 4 1/4 stars, it was a good show, and Lesnar DIDNT look like a complete fucking idiot. Just go to a NWA/TNA folder, because apparently you dont like much of anything the WWE does. I've agreed with you a lot, but man, this show was NOT a bad show. Guest bob_barron Report post Posted August 26, 2002 Summerslam RULED!!! HBK v. HHH dragged in the middle but HBK kicked it into high gear. Awesome match I must admit
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted August 26, 2002 Brock is the champ. I must now weep. You have to admit it's not going to be THAT bad. He's more over then he has been since he debuted. He's had one good match this year, with BUBBA FUCKING DUDLEY!
Guest Midnight Express83 Report post Posted August 26, 2002 rewatch it, it isn't as great. Its soild, best WWF PPV of the year. But that isn't saying much.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted August 26, 2002 I mean seriously dude, who are you, Scott Keith? For HBK/HHH you could make an argument for 4-stars, You could do WHAT with HBK/HHH? I didn't see the show, please tell me it was a horrible match that didn't approach the ***1/2 bet?
Guest BionicRedneck Report post Posted August 26, 2002 How about you shave ten minutes off HHH/HBK (which isn't a **** match, don't be fooled) and put some on the 9 mins of Rey/Angle, which was pretty awesome (apart from Kurt appearing to fudge up the finish)
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted August 26, 2002 Brock is the champ. I must now weep. You have to admit it's not going to be THAT bad. He's more over then he has been since he debuted. Guest Angle-plex Report post Posted August 26, 2002 So was HBK's back injury real, or was it all a SWERVE~!
Guest Rabbi_wilson13 Report post Posted August 26, 2002 Was this better than Summerslam 2000? I think that's right up there with some of the best. I know it can't crack WM X-7, but it does look kinda solid. The first two matches shouldn't of been the first two matches, though. And Edge's no-selling of the shoulder = bad. Other than that, doesn't look too bad.
Guest the pinjockey Report post Posted August 26, 2002 First hour and a half solid wrestling all around with bad booking, still makes it a lock for PPV of the year. Test/Taker eh.., HBK/HHH zzzzzzzzzz a 27 minute hardcore match whoopie, Brock/Rock more entertaining then I thought it would be but not for the actual match. PPV of the year, between that and RR because I am a RR mark PPV of all time, no.

I'd give it ***1/

Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted August 26, 2002 I suppose from reading the thread, it wasnt as bad as I thought, but Im still glad I wasn't duped into buying it. Anyone who says its the best PPV ever is just trying to put up a justification for why they bought it when everyone else said it was gonna suck.
Guest BionicRedneck Report post Posted August 26, 2002 Edge should be stabbed up the ass with a hot poker for his left arm spear finish. Line of the night was this beauty: Cole:"Where is he goin now?!" Tazz:"er..the top rope...where do ya think he's goin?" What an ass Mitchell can be
