It's all a matter of promoters. Jerry Jarrett was paying much more of the gates before Hogan started his thing.

If used correctly, Hogan will always = $$$. He has that "it" quality that will always generate a reaction. That's something that beniot/eddy and other net heros, for all their greatness, have trouble doing.

And yet, he's long past the point where he's drawn any money in realistic terms (not driving target demographics away) and his crowd reaction is all based of having a past character. Hell, Benoit has no character right now, and has had no development done since Austin left.

 

How do you use Hogan correctly in your opinion. Was he only used correctly at WrestleMania?

He drew PLENTY of money at Wrestlemania. He shouldn't have been given the world title though.

Actually, one of the few things that wwf has done well recently is the handling of Hogan. The ICON v. ICON build up for WM led to the hottest match on the card. The subsequent face turn was inevitable, but done well. His title reign was short and he was always considered the underdog. His willingness this time around to play the "old veteran" and put people over has made him tolerable to me. His taking time off is also a good thing because his act DOES have a limited shelf life.

 

I do think that they should have held off his switching back to the red and yellow. It would have meant something if he waited until now and went after Lesnar with his old colors. Little things like that keep an old thing fresh.

But that was one shot against the Rock. It was a dream match. They don't have more of that in their arsenal.

And that's all they have aside from maybe a Brock rematch on free TV. And that's my point. There's nothing left for him and he really doesn't bring alot to the table.

Yep, as much as Vince wants it to be a big deal, Vince/Hogan probably won't draw anything. Not unless Hogan remains retired until Wrestlemania so he can get his aura back. With that, he's worthless.
