Cause the WWE is chocked full of US workers and some might get offended. I say burn it but im candain and our flag was dis respected at the men hockey finals where the US team stepped on the flag in the dressing room (or was it the womens). For example, in the movie American History X, Edward Norton's character(Derek Vinyard) has a swa-sticka on his chest. Were some people offended by it? Yes, I am sure some were. And if your offended, don't watch it. Now, did Edward get shit for doing that? No, because it was a movie, for entertainment purposes. Wrestling is the same way, it is a form of entertainment. Test did almost torch it on RAW if you go back and watch he came REAL close to it. And we may see wrestling as just entertainment, but the media tends to still think they push it as real. Might as well just tease and poke to see how far you can go before people start throwing shit in the ring. If they come close to pulling it off, they could also set the fire out by stomping on it and they can carry that flag around as a 'souveneir' It would get SERIOUS heat for them to force somebody to be tied to the ropes and be forced to watch the scene without being able to stop it. They are gunna pick up their remote, change the channel, and make sure tell all of their friends/family/whatever not to watching Wrestling (!!) because it's anti-american. To tease it for 2 weeks and drop it is weak and it makes the Unamericans look weak as well. Aside from the fact that it's illegal, they would get rushed. I wouldn't put it past them to do an angle where Bradshaw finds an already burned flag backstage and then looks up at the camera with the fire in his eyes only a hoss can bring. Its better to drop the angle than create a media blitz, not to mention however the crowd reacts. I will be at RAW live this monday and I know if they go through with it, shit is going to fly. If noone jumps the gun over the barricade, there will be garbage thrown and some pissed off folks. But I am not a WWE booker so, I guess we see what happens. The only problem is that most fans don't look at wrestling the same way they would look at a movie, and therefore consider certain things to be off limits in wrestling (i.e.: Slaughter the American Turncoat, Big Show's cancer angle, Undertaker's cross...er...symbol). To actually burn the flag on TV would be stupid considering the recent decline in ratings (not to mention that 9/11 is just around the corner). Perhaps if they were still pulling out 6.0's and what not, they'd be able to get away with it, but right now, they should just leave well enough along. BTW, I think this flag-burning angle is stupid as hell. If Test really wants to burn the flag so damn bad, why doesn't he just do it backstage during the interview segment?
