This is a good sign

from 1bob-

WWE has recently changed their policy of more or less ignoring all the fan feedback they get. People who have recently sent in emails to WWE with ideas have gotten positive responses from WWE representatives, and some have also been givin direct phone numbers of WWE workers to go into more detail on their ideas.

Are they serious?

'Cause I actually think that's pretty cool, and as long as that "giving fans phone numbers" thing doesn't get abused, hey.

Of course, it is from 1bob... Damn.

I emailed the feedback for Raw and general Information. On their Policy they say they are most likely not gonna respond to feedback.

but Its so cool of them to finally give us a window in.

::Brock picks up the phone:: "Hello?"

"You small dicked, unover, hamster looking peice of shit! You don't deserve to lick my hairy balls let alone carry that title. I'm gonna kill you!"

Brock: "Who is this?"

::Angelsault quickly hangs up the phone::

In all seriousness, I think getting fan feedback is always a good thing. I'm not too sure about contact workers themselves.

Its true. I emailed about a month ago. I got an email back with a phone number attached. I called and left a message and someone called me back and wrote down my exact complaints. He also told me some new talents were debuting soon (which there was) and that they realized that the current product was not up to snuff. Not sure if it did any good, but they did listen.

This is actually a really bad thing for two reasons:

First of all, it gives the Tommy Fierros of the world a chance to make their crappy angles happen.

Second of all, it leaves the WWE open for lawsuits. People's ideas are considered their own property and they can sue when a company actually uses them. That's why shows such as Star Trek or the former X-Files wouldn't listen to fan comments.

In fact, back when Babylon 5 was on the air, someone posted a storyline idea on a newsgroup, to which one of the staff replied with "Oh shit, we were actually going to do that and now we can't."

let me paste the agreement. I figure they covered their asses.

"Prior to providing feedback, you must agree to WWE's terms and conditions concerning the submissions of ideas as described below.

This grant of Rights means that all Submissions will be owned by WWE and may be used by WWE for any purpose, now or in the future, without any payment to, or further authorization by, you. I think as long we make our suggestions or Opinions Intelligently they will read them. if we got too many people deciding Well hell this is our opening to FLAME on the WWE..then we will be seeing that feedback opening disappear.

what did hhh do on monday?

Monopolize the show, give himself a title, and set RVD up like a lamb waiting for the slaughter?

this doesn't really make sense to me. aren't they prevented by law from using other people's (even fans') ideas?

On the one hand, I want to say this is a good idea because they are trying a new interactive way to get in touch with their fanbase.

On the other hand, this looks like a desperate plea for new ideas. They didn't need to solicit ideas from viewers when previous booking regimes were in charge of things.

I guess I won't really know where to stand on this until things actually play out. If they show some courage and push people like RVD, Jericho and Benoit in a way that draws some good money, then I will say that this little interactive experiment was successful.

But if this all ends up being an exercise in false elevation, leading to the same old people doing the same old things in the same old spots on the card, then I'd say everybody is wasting their energy with this.

Well, if they aren't...

I have a whole lot of pretty good fantasy booking ideas for them to screw up.

(laughs)

I have seen some great Fantasy Booking ideas around here, but I'll never forget one that had WM20 in MSG..with Benoit and Austin in an Iron Man Match. 20,000 people chanting "Go Benoit Go!"? Not in this lifetime.

*cough*

Am I the only one aware they'd never really use any of our ideas?

a) It takes a death threat to get some people to job.

b) Not Hossistic enough.

c) We wouldn't want to push "future main eventers" like Hugh Morrus, Mark Henry, Big Show, Rikishi, and Bull Buchanan.

d) There'd probably be too much wrestling..or intelligence..involved.

e) Not enough T&A matches or segments.

f) "No? What do you mean, no?" Because HHH said so.

WCW.

Unless they're brainwashed, WWE fans are more likely to cheer something like the Stinkface than they are a good angle/wrestling match.

The big question:

When is the last time there was a really, really good storyline/angle? Has it been so long that I can't remember one within recent memory?

sounds like a commercial for a new reality tv show for MTV, Tough Enough 3:

Watch as the lucky few wrestling marks get a chance to wow the WWE executives with their witty ideas for storylines, angles, wrestling matches

call 1-900-WWE-MARK to send your ideas

Oh god. Absurd new emoticons (boos)

Depends on what you mean. Rock/Hogan was "really" good purely for historical reasons. As for the whole actual setup, I'd say Austin/Angle a year ago.

Yeah, but Austin/Angle still relied on stuff that'd been done. (Bridge stunt, Milk bath) and stupid stuff (Angle's Twin).

Angle vs Austin.. the only good thing that came out of the Horrid Invasion 3 month Hostage situation on my TV. With the exception of RVD.

The last really good storyline I would go with Rock/Jericho around No Mercy. The whole you can't win the big one deal. And what really made it awesome was how those two just completely own at promos so they can make almost any angle they are working together work.
