Promo: The End of the Clan

Thoth sits on the edge of his hotel bed, listening to the phone ring. It doesn’t quite click for him that someone is trying to reach him yet.

 

*RINNNNNNG*

 

He cranes his neck towards the phone, sighing before picking it up. “Yeah?”

 

“Thoth. We need to speak with you.”

 

Ugh... the Magistrates. Regional leaders of the Clan. Probably calling to check up on me.

 

“Thoth, we are concerned-”

 

“Shut up,” came Thoth’s curt reply. “I don’t work for the Clan anymore.”

 

The Magistrate laughs. “Now, now, Thoth. You know as well as anyone…no one can ever leave the Clan.”

 

“Really? I think Andrea and Allison Onita would disagree with you.”

 

“How DARE you speak their names allowed! You have grown too bold in the Master’s absence, Yuuichiro! There will be consequences for this!”

 

“Spare me the hyperbole. Spider Nekura is gone, and Silent is…is pursuing a personal agenda in at the moment. I doubt you’ll see him again anytime soon. If they can leave, Magistrate, I can leave with them. The Clan is no longer represented here.”

 

”Preposterous. Yuuichiro, you don’t know what you’re saying. There is always another avenue-“

 

“You don’t understand, Magistrate. Nekura is not here to approve your decisions, and Silent no longer cares to enforce them.”

 

“And I will not be a party to those decisions anymore.”

 

*CLICK*

 

Thoth lies back down on the bed, folding his hands behind his head. With the click of the telephone receiver, he has just cut all ties with the last eighteen months of his life. He doesn’t usually make decisions so abruptly, but things simply have not been the same since…well…

 

Since Silent returned.

 

So many things about the Silent One had bothered him since his induction into the Clan. The way he fought, the way he carried himself, the look in his eyes…they all seemed so familiar, so confident in himself, so…challenging. He had always known that he would fight Silent, one day…

 

"So Thoth, do you like this? You, the angel, and I, the devil! I can drag you down with me, take you to a place you’ve never been, Thoth!"

 

"Damn it...there's no way to end this."

 

"But I won’t. Thoth, you’ll never be as powerful as me!"

 

"What?"

 

Silent lets go…and he falls.

“Is the honor I have left…the honor my father left me...the price I have to pay to win?”

“If I cannot redeem myself…if I cannot improve…then Damien…Nathaniel was right.”

 

[“You’ll never be as powerful as me!”]

 

Thoth absently runs a hand down his stomach, feeling the criss-crossed mesh of scars the Slaughterer left him before he disappeared…

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

”I will fight him. Again.”

 

Silent and he had feuded before, fought before, and Thoth had beaten him once before... but that was another time, and this was different. They were both in the spotlight now, with no one pulling any strings to keep them balanced against each other, and the stakes were so much higher. And now, the Clan, the only thing Thoth could still consider family…was dead. All those memories, all the battles he had fought on their behalf, all of those were for naught, now.

 

All he had now…was the fight.

 

“I will defeat him, this time. He will not taint my victory again.”

 

[You’ll never be as powerful as me]

 

…

 

Outside, a cold wind blows.

I shall miss the Clan. Quite frankly, they were the best heel stable ever in my opinion. And that in my opinion was due to Thoth more than anything else, although obviously Spider's and Silent's contributions can't be overlooked. Excellent job gentlemen... you've cemented your legacy.

Ah, I shall miss the Clan, for many reasons. A good way to end it Thoth.

 

Although, mostly for self-promoting whore reasons, I'm seeing something very familiar in the direction Thoth is travelling... Hrm...

Ah, the almighty Clan crumbles. So much used potiental... yet some unused too in a way. Anyways, an awesome promo and it's a good, quick way to cement the history of the best heel stable to grace the SWF.

And after more than a year and a half, the most fluid heel stable ever finally bites the bullet.

 

It's kind of sad for me to see the Clan go, since it's given me so many directions to take Silent's character at different points....but at least we're finally going to get a conclusive Thoth/Silent showdown out of this.

excellent promo, and again, sad to see the Clan go, and I feel lucky to be able to say at one time I was once a member of that prestigious stable.

Spider first enlistd Bayawolf, and back then it didn't seem such a bigger deal, until today when you finally see such a great and influencial stable go.

Heh Muzz has been watching smackdown...

 

Anyways if a stable can stay around for more than a year I must say that it had to be one of the greatest. And Silent/Thoth already has so much build. A great end to a great stable.

It certainly was a good run for the Clan...especially considering that I originally thought that they wouldn't last due to the fact that I thouhgt they were too deep to be realistic in the wrestling world. But, they proved me wrong..winning titles and being one of the top heel stables, all while never truly relinquishing their original ideals.
