Guest permagrinning Posted September 8, 2002 Report Posted September 8, 2002 You're right. *Jiggles man-boobs* *Chops barron* Wooo! no rebuke to others?
Guest snowfan Posted September 8, 2002 Report Posted September 8, 2002 You're right. *Jiggles man-boobs* *Chops barron* Wooo! The Michelin man pulls out another near loss.... Whhhoooo! what is it about wrestlers with protruding proscobisi?
Guest BionicRedneck Posted September 8, 2002 Report Posted September 8, 2002 Like anyone cares about Waltman anymore. On the Bret Hart thing: McMAhon should take majority of blame not Bret. Bret was well within his rights (with that creative control contract). VM should have either changed the finish or not, he shouldn't have told Bret one thing and then done another. Plus, Bret didn't have to show up. I dunno how anyone can say Vinnie isn't the main asshole in this story.
Guest RazorxEDGE Posted September 8, 2002 Report Posted September 8, 2002 If Syxx came back, it wouldn't be DX 7.5. Syxx and Hall are nWo 4 life.
Guest RazorxEDGE Posted September 8, 2002 Report Posted September 8, 2002 Oh boy... If this turns into a Montreal argument, I'm outta here. That's one dead horse that's been kicked enough.

Funny how only one side of the equation is EVER expected to "do the right thing". If Vince didn't want Bret to have control he shouldn't have put it in, and if he didn't like what Bret was doing he should have just stripped Bret.
Guest BionicRedneck Posted September 8, 2002 Report Posted September 8, 2002 Oh no! please don't go!!!
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted September 8, 2002 Report Posted September 8, 2002 I don't like the term "Greatest Wrestler Ever". At all. Or the "So and so is the best _____ wrestler in the world". Simply because there will always be somebody else with a different opinion. There is clearly a class of workers better than others, yes..but to say somebody is the "Greatest Wrestler Ever"..you never know what may happen. Calling someone the greatest is setting it in stone, and it's just not right. However..I find it ironic that guys like Michaels and HHH's best work gets toned down because of their "backstage behavior"..but Flair's is often quickly brushed over. Odd.

Odd. very very very true.... wooooooo poses spits water Flair was every bit the politicker that the Clique were.....
Guest snowfan Posted September 8, 2002 Report Posted September 8, 2002 what a pansy me, flair, crips, michaels???
Guest RazorxEDGE Posted September 8, 2002 Report Posted September 8, 2002 El Psycho Diablo has a hell of a point...Flair wasn't exactly fair when he had the book. Wow, I guess HHH *did* learn a lot from Flair...
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted September 8, 2002 Report Posted September 8, 2002 This relates to flair, and is something that I've debated with myself at times. All these 'carry jobs' that flair, bret, hhh did with lesser opponents were formularic. They had the same elements, the same sort of selling, the same moves, etc. They worked. However it's not like they adapted to their opponent, it is like their opponent adapted to their formula. The matches were still good/great, but it's sorta like 'if you've seen one, you've seen them all'. But does the fact that they used a template, that their formula can be used with anyone, lessen the impact of that match? Or does it make them a better wrestler for finding a mold to work from?

Guest RazorxEDGE Posted September 8, 2002 Report Posted September 8, 2002 Flair never strayed from his formula. His was set in concrete. Bret had a formula to a certain extent, but he would be innovative in the ring too. Bret would try to work with the style of his opponent, Flair would just be Flair. That's the difference, IMO.
Guest Mad Dog Posted September 8, 2002 Report Posted September 8, 2002 Flair carried some pretty awful wrestlers to good matches. I mean he carried fucking Ronnie Garvin to a watchable match. That cements him as one of the greats for me.
Guest RazorxEDGE Posted September 8, 2002 Report Posted September 8, 2002 The Garvin Stomp was pretty fucking funny.
Guest AM The Kid Posted September 8, 2002 Report Posted September 8, 2002 My top three...imho. 1.Bret Hart 2.Owen Hart 3.Shawn Micheals
Guest snowfan Posted September 8, 2002 Report Posted September 8, 2002 The Garvin Stomp was pretty fucking funny. THAT was psychology incarnate... *grins* poses spits water
Guest RazorxEDGE Posted September 8, 2002 Report Posted September 8, 2002 Owen Hart suffered from a rare disease known as G.W.T.C.T.A.D.P.*. Lance Storm is currently afflicted with this disease. It's pretty prevalent amongst Canadians. * - Great Worker That Can't Throw A Decent Punch
Guest AM The Kid Posted September 8, 2002 Report Posted September 8, 2002 *throws the gloves down* Lets see how you can throw a punch boy! Nowone talks about Owen and Storm like that to me...bitch!
Guest CanadianChick Posted September 8, 2002 Report Posted September 8, 2002 My Top 3 North American workers are: 1. Bret Hart 2. Shawn Michaels 3. Steve Austin I know that this was said a while back, I want to comment on it. I can see Micheals and Bret, but Austin? I think that Austin is the most overrated wrestler , not Flair. During his prime in WWf, I would like someone to name me more than one great match that didn't involve Bret. And if you do, tell me why those matches were great.

Guest RazorxEDGE Posted September 8, 2002 Report Posted September 8, 2002 Great SCSA matches that did not involve Bret: vs. Owen Hart, SummerSlam '97 w/ Shawn Michaels vs. Owen & Bulldog, RAW '97 w/ HHH vs. Chris Benoit and Chris Jericho, RAW '01 vs. Chris Benoit, RAW '01 vs. Kurt Angle, RAW '01 vs. The Rock, WrestleMania X-7 vs. Kurt Angle, SummerSlam '00 vs. Shawn Michaels, KOR '97 vs. Dude Love, Over The Edge '98 vs. The Rock, Backlash '99 vs. KOR '01, vs. Chris Benoit and Chris Jericho Need I go on?
Guest bob_barron Posted September 8, 2002 Report Posted September 8, 2002 SCSA v. Chris v. Chris wasn't that great. Y2J was awful and the finish sucked
Guest RazorxEDGE Posted September 8, 2002 Report Posted September 8, 2002 Point is, he's had plenty of good to great matches without Bret.
LaParkaYourCar Posted September 8, 2002 Report Posted September 8, 2002 I think she was asking for Pre-Neck Injury matches without Bret.
Guest RazorxEDGE Posted September 8, 2002 Report Posted September 8, 2002 That's not really fair, because who did he work with BESIDES Bret before the neck injury?? And Canadianchick is a she, I think.
Guest bob_barron Posted September 8, 2002 Report Posted September 8, 2002 Austin had a kick ass match with Savio Vega at Beware of Dog and Mero at KOTR
