The Ghost of Christmas Pass.

"It's been quite a year, hasn't it love?"

"It has... I'm so happy I could spend it with you."

"I'll always be here..."

"I will always love you..."

"My angel..."

"My goddess..."

A kiss, which seems to last an eternity, a kiss, forged by love, and the desire to never be apart from one another again. A bond of love that will stand the test of time, forging through every obstacle, their love only growing stronger as each second passes. The only thing that could bring them apart...

Was death...

But their love still burns like a bright flame, providing hope for all time.

"I love you..." She says, cupping on hand on his cheek and gazing into his eyes, becoming lost in the moment... Everything seems so real, like it were happening all over again, that blissful moment where they confessed their love for each other...

Then you wake up.

And find it was all a dream...

...

"You're thinking about her again, aren't you?"

A deep, raspy voice, boasting authority and respect finally breaks him from his peaceful slumber. It's a warm summers afternoon, the sun shines and casts a brilliant spectrum of light into the room. He rubs his eyes and slowly opens them to the world, finding a tall lean figure, hidden by shadow, standing by the window, gazing out at the street below.

Andrew sits up, looking over at the clock and cursing himself, knowing he was late for a training session. He doesn't dwell on it for too long, he wonders who is in the room with him, and more importantly, why they are. He turns around and leans over, picking up the shot glass on the coffee table by the sofa where he was resting, picking it up and looking at the sparkling clear liquid inside. He throws down the alcohol in one fell swoop, coughing slightly afterwards, the drink not mixing well with an already sore throat. Andrew straightens his hair and climbs to his feet, coughing a few times more as the man in the corner speaks again.

"Pull yourself together for Christ’s sake, you look like shit."

Andrew grunts as he slams the shot glass down on the table. He calls out, still drowsy and half-asleep, "And who the hell are you?"

The man chuckles, turning his head, revealing himself as the light crosses his tanned face and brown eyes. Andrew manages a short laugh as he turns away, then looks back, eyeing the man known as Axis with a suspicious look.

"You’re back again..." He says with a slight grin, and in an almost mocking tone. "Can't say I've missed you, I've had other things on my mind... You ever going to come back to wrestling, or are you going to live in the retirement village forever?" He asks. It had been on his mind since they meet at the restaurant.

"You never know..." Axis says, picking up the shot glass, and refilling it. “When I might come back." He finishes his sentence with a wink and a smile, and immediately downs the liquid.

"Well damn, I wish I could say I was glad that you’re contemplating coming back, but unfortunately-"

"Don't worry, I didn't expect any good will from the likes of you." He puts his glass down and grins. "So, how you doing?”

Andrew shoots a piercing gaze at Axis, just staring at him for a long time, having trouble registering what Axis just said, "How do you fucking think?”

"You still haven’t gotten over it, have you?"

“Is this fun for you? Do you like coming back here and constantly reminding me of her? Does it make you happy to see me in misery!?”

Axis holds his hands up, "Whoa, calm down man, I understand y'know?"

"How the hell could you possib-" Suddenly, Sacred stops, looking at his former friend, almost embarrassed, stopping in mid sentence. "Oh..."

Axis nods his head, "Yeah, now you remember, I know how it is to lose someone so close… But I didn’t spend months, and months wishing it didn’t happen.”

Sacred seems surprised by Axis's choice of words, "…Listen mate..."

"No, you listen, mate," Axis grits his teeth, "It's frustrating watching someone I've known and watched out for so long become an emotional wreck over something that happened a few months ago...."

"Ugh, I have such an urge to sock you right now-“

"Shut up, I'm not finished..."

Sacred stands with closed fists at his sides, watching Axis as he paces around the room, taking his dear sweet time in continuing. Sacred's had enough of this, "So what did you want then? Come to make me feel like shit and leave again?"

"Looks like you don't need any help there... No, you know what man? I'm just sick of seeing you destroying yourself over something that you cannot control! We all KNOW the world has gone to hell, we all KNOW that the world sucks. We DON’T need YOU to rub it in our faces all the time!”

"You try losing someone like Anna! She was so special to me..."

"I know she was special, but for fucks sake, get over it. It just sickens me to see that you’ve become an emotional wreck. You've got it better than most people, why can't you just get on with your damn life!?"

"What the fuck do you care for? What great force propelled you to come back and tell me how shit I am?"

"You don't get it do you? We were pretty close friends, if you remember correctly, but then you turned on me, and I've never quite got over that. Since I've been retired, I've been watching you in the SWF, I've seen you become a big time player… But you could have done SO MUCH MORE if you weren’t so goddamn absorbed in your own self pity! You’ve always let this kind of shit get the best of you!”

“Meh, whatever…” Sacred dismisses his former friend.

"You know it’s true..." Axis remarks, as he walks towards the door and opens it, making his way down the corridor, as Sacred shouts, "You’re wrong! You’ve got NO IDEA! I’ll show you, you goddamned…”

Axis just laughs as he walks back down the corridor. Andrew slumps back down in his chair, the conversation obviously taking its toll... Sacred slams his fist own on the table and stands back up, a mass of frustration building up inside of him. The door knob slowly turns, and he jerks his head to it suddenly, only to find Jay Dawg standing there.

"Yo man, what's up? I saw Mr. Personality walking down the hall, what the hell did he want?"

Sacred just smiles, "It doesn't matter, he just opened my eyes to a few things... Just watch my back for a while, ok?"

"You know I'll always do that, but for now, there's a party on down the hall. C’mon, hot chicks, beer! What more could you want!?”

“Maybe… maybe.”

“Ok man, catch ya later.”

Sacred just laughs at Dawg as he starts back down the hallway, a bottle of tequila in one hand and a smoke in the other. Sacred decides to have some fun tonight, and walks towards the door, until he spots a picture of Anna resting on the table. He looks at it a while and just ponders...

Why did he come back? Why does he seem to torment me over and over? What the hell did I do to him!

Sacred slams his fist into the wall, looking at the indentation for a while, he himself surprised by the sudden outburst of rage…

Anna... I wish you were here to help me... I need you so much right now...

I need some guidance…

I need love…

---------------------------------

Axis walks out in the cold, putting his jacket on to ward of the bitter frost. He just laughs to himself, playing some events in his own mind…

“Fool.” He says, as he walks across the parking lot. “It’s just too easy.”

Axis walks up to his pride and joy, his black Commodore, continuing to chuckle...

Inactive Axis heel turn?

Sacred's gone crazy? Again?

Expertly written. I await the next installment, and hope the Smarkdown match gives us some indication of character direction.

That ending was just perfect...I love it. I mean, it kind of gives things away as to what's going on, but it keeps you very interested because you don't know for sure. It's the worst kind of cliff hanger...when you know something's going to happen...and you kind of have an idea...but you just don't know.

Well done Sacred...and I'm still convinced that your character is just an extension of your reality. Remind me never to come to Australia.
