Guest BifEverchad Posted September 9, 2002 Report Posted September 9, 2002 Ok, recently I have been downloading a ton of wrestling matches from a Hotline server, and I was thinking about burning them onto a disc for future viewings. I told a friend about this, and he said he knew a guy who burned a movie off onto a disc and played it in his DVD Player? I guessing he wasnt totally full of crap, because it does seem possible. I asked him, but he had no clue. So I've taken this problem/question to my fellow smarks. My only question is, How do I do this?? Please, any help is appreciated. (and I apologize if it was already asked by someone else before) Bif
Guest Dr. Wrestlingphysics Posted September 9, 2002 Report Posted September 9, 2002 It cold be done with a DVD writer, but those things cost a fortune.
Guest Flyboy Posted September 9, 2002 Report Posted September 9, 2002 It can be done with a normal CD-Writer, too. The only thing is... you have to have to convert the videos into the right format OR have the software for it. I don't know how (I wish I did), but I'm sure you can do it with a normal CD-writer. The videos have to be in .VCD format or .MPEG format I believe to play in a DVD player.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted September 13, 2002 Report Posted September 13, 2002 I saw it done on the screensavers. The used some expensive program, but they also said there was cheaper and even freeware software available to do it. It was the same show that they were showing how to burn DVD's but they showed that there were cheaper options available right now.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted September 13, 2002 Report Posted September 13, 2002 What Flyboy said. 1) Make sure your DVD player will do burned CD's, otherwise you're stuck. 2) Have lots of HD space available. 3) Converting files that are .WMA or .RM are going to be impossible, so forget about it. 4) Get one of the video tools from afterdawn.com to convert your file to MPEG. (tMPEG works, if that's the program I'm thinking about). 5) Burn it to cd as a VCD, which your burning program should handle.
Guest The Electrifyer Posted September 13, 2002 Report Posted September 13, 2002 Go to www.vcdhelp.com if you can play burnt VCD's on your player.
Guest The Electrifyer Posted September 14, 2002 Report Posted September 14, 2002 Here's how I burn VCDs: 1. Downoad TMPGE, the latest version of Nero and the movie you want to be in VCD 2. Convert the video to an mpeg (PAL or NTSC depending on the region your VCD Player was made in) using TMPGE 3. After it has been converted, use Nero and burn it as a VCD Thats it, just the converting to MPEG part takes a while.
Chunk Posted September 15, 2002 Report Posted September 15, 2002 3) Converting files that are .WMA or .RM are going to be impossible, so forget about it. Ive used my program to convert .wmv before, so i know that works. (Without checking, im 95% sure it was TMPGE.) I actually converted it to .wmv first because of an incompatability with the .avi i had and the TMPGE program. Im not sure about .rm though. Ive never tried it myself. ChUnK!
