Football is OFFICIALLY out of my life

Recommended Posts

Guest FlairsJigglyManTits

14 years, my whole life, I sat down on the couch and watched my Dallas Cowboys kick everyones ass. I watched them win 3 Super Bowls, I watched them dominate everyone to try to mess with them, I watched Emmitt Smith shake defenders right out of their cleats, but the past 2 years day after day they just continue to suck. Quincy Carter sucks, Emmitt Smith WILL break the record this year but he is definetly over the hill, Rocket Ismail's out for the season, Antonio Bryant will be a bust without a quality QB.

I had gym this morning and the first friggin thing that I hear is a bunch of laughs from my 3 gym teachers because the Cowboys lost to the Texans. Im sick of being embarrassed to tell people my favorite football. As of last night, 11:45 PM, I officially denounce Dallas Cowboys as my religion. Im sick of this crap.

F*CK QUINCY CARTER! F*CK QUINCY CARTER! F*CK QUINCY CARTER! F*CK QUINCY CARTER! F*CK QUINCY CARTER!

Eagles fan here so I know your pain. I sat through the buddy ryan era where with any offense we win the super bowl, the rich kotite era, the Ray Rhodes era, Doug Pederson starting QB for a year (That one year was the most offensive season that any fan could ever endure) and I am finally starting to see some rewards. So for a cowboys fan who had a dynasty just end to complain about losing.

The Cowboys fans should stay around until Thanksgiving when the Boys play the Redskins.

If they were to beat the Skins for the 10th straight time, I dont think Skins fans would hear the end of it.

I've been a Pats fan since I was 5.

Don't even talk to me about "rough patches."

I know that feeling. I won't even go into the rest of New England's sports teams and the years of losing or blowing it.

Way to stick with your team through the rough stretch.

I always stuck with the team, when they were 8-8, then 5-11, then another 5-11 season. Im supposed to be a fan of a team that cannot even beat the HOUSTON TEXANS! THE TEXANS FOR GOD SAKE! Give me a break here bro.

I mean lets face it, I overreacted a little bit. We all know that I'm gonna be rooting for the Cowboys if they wind up being 6-10 or better. And in essence, I'm always gonna be a Cowboys but right now Im just a little angry. My Cowboys suck, my Knicks suck, baseball pissed me off this season, and the Devils let Bobby Holik go to the Rangers. As a fan of those 3 teams and the position theyre in, I cant help but be angry at anything in sports that doesnt help my teams.

Yes but between those teams your have about what five or six championships in the last decade. I would not mind a rough period after that.

True the Texans arent great...they CANT be since they got thrown together. BUT the Defense is gonna be SOLID and that wins games.

I'll even go out on a limb and say they win 3-5 games this year. Parity RULES!

Hey, I'm a Jets fan and had to sit through a 1-15 season and Rich Kottie.

If you have a owner who won't accept losing and I think the Cowboys do, they won't be bad for long.

Though the worst is gotta being a bills fan.

and to think Jerry Jones wants to build a new stadium even though they had been on a losing season streak?

the only good thing that came out of the loss for me was that Dexter Cokley had 7 tackles and won a fantasy game for me.

well the Cowboys will stay at the bottom of the NFC East until they decide to let the coach take control of the team, Jerry Jones has to learn to let go. They have talent yet the offense scheme is all wrong. Forget classic run game & defense strategy and go with short pass West Coast style, its the only way to give Quincy Carter convendience especially with the weak WRs

I never thought he'd actually do this, but I think this just may be the season where Jerry Jones says, "Fuck it" and decides to coach the team himself.

The only time I've ever really got to see my favourite team win anything was the Blue Jays' 2 World Series. But, I was 9 and 10 when those happened, so I didn't fully appreciate them, and, they spoiled me.

As a Leafs' fan, I've suffered heartbreak after heartbreak (4 times in my life, they've gone to the Conference Finals, 4 loses. They even lost to the Carolina FUCKING Hurricanes!!). They always manage to tease me, too, as they rarely lose in the first round, getting my hopes up, only to let me down as I crash hard into reality.

You don't want to see me during a Leafs' playoff game. I go through so many emotions, it's not even funny.

I thought it was 1990?

1989 was the season where they drafted Aikman, but struggled through that 1-15 season.

The Cowboys then drafted Emmitt in 1990 and there's when the "dynasty" started.

No reason to give up on football. Every dynasty dies eventually and has to be rebuilt up. Fortunately Dallas is one of those franchises that will always have the resources to rebuild. Me being a Skins fan and all, I have had to deal with ups and down ever since the superbowl win in '92.....We have been a laughing stock because we were a presitged franchise and will be a joke until we either win another championship or at least consistantly make the playoffs......

Guest Smell the ratings!!!

How can you give up on your team after 2 years? I'm a BEARS fan. Do you have any idea what that means?!

"Oh, but they won the Super Bowl in '85, and now the're good"

Yes. Just now they got good. They were 16 years in between then and that Super Bowl. 16 years of endless torture.

Here's some names. Rick Mirer. Rashaan Salaam. Moses Moreno. Alonzo Spellman. Curtis Enis. Erik Kramer. Bobby Engram. Walt Harris. Bryan Cox. Alonzo Hayes.

Who are these people? Gas station attendents? Well, maybe. But they're also "stars" who were supposed to lead the Bears back to glory. And that's just the last 5 years or so.

the Cowgirls are average. You have plenty of good players. They just don't happen to play quarterback. And Jerry Jones would rather work at Wal-Mart and live in a trailer for the rest of his life than own a shitty football team. So suck it up, you pansy!

Oh ok, I must have had my stuff mixed up then, I had always thought it was 1990 where they went 1-15.

LMAO@El Satanico That would not surprise me.

exaxctly satanico exactly

they just lost the game they were supposed to win

and won the one they were supposed to lose

but hey thats why they play them.

and if youre going to jump off whatever is left of the bandwagon.. you should have done it last year.. they are easily better than last.

and maybe houston just beat them because they had all that time to focus on making a statement and "blew their load" so to speak, because they sucked ass vs san diego.

pittsburgh looks worse than dallas

way, way, way, way worse but i would NEVER trade my colors

AND I WAS IN ATTENDANCE WEEK ONE

trust me in gillete stadium with the pats going bonzo gonzo and the steelers getting buried worse than those miners they rescued, THAT id the time to jump off the wagon, but i held my ground.

then the raiders do the same thing

SIGH (in the biggest caps you could imagine)

but ill always love the franchise
