The other thing that worries about all this is that RVD is going after a belt that's meaningless. I don't know if the marks are buying it, but I sure ain't.

Exactly. The belt means nothing to me. It's a trophy title representing a show that I've given up on because it's mostly crap with wrestlers I don't care for. It's a shame that Taker had to jump to SD and not RVD.

My only possible hope is that HBK comes down, tries to hit HHH, hits RVD instead, and that will lead to an RVD vs HBK match.

That would actually be great booking. In fact I think that's the best thing the WWE could possibly do now.

 

Even if he wins, RVD won't go over clean, thus making him look weak; and holding a faux belt now will only dilute the impact of him winning the real title for the first time (which he will, eventually). Accidental HBK interference costing him the match would be brilliant, and everyone comes out looking good.
