Man the Funniest moments thread made me want to start a whole thread about Jericho's WCW work.

I enjoyed him wrestling Juventud Guerrera in Juvi's old mask.

 

Not so much a funny note, but I thought Jericho had the best REAL heel turn during the Nitro era. (I don't count Sting's going nWo as a real heel turn as it wasn't really Sting. Otherwise, that would be the best, IMO.)

Jericho ripping up some dude's sign and bellowing out:

"I'M TOO GOOD TO BE THAT GUY'S ROLE MODEL!!!" always got a chuckle out of me.

 

Jericho was gold at Fall Brawl 1998. I just wish he would have kept the foam WCW Title Belt instead of ripping it up. He could of wore it the next night on Nitro and paraded around with it as long as upper managemen twould let him.

 

There was also a Thunder whrer Jericho challenged Goldberg when Billy obviously wasn't there, so Jericho made Nick Patrick count Goldberg out and award CJ the match.

 

His promo at StarrCade 1998 was also spectacular! Konnan, show some fashion sence, show some genesequa (?sp?), Pull up your pants, cuz your drawers are hanging out, Daddio! Thank you.

About that Battle Royal.....watching the reaction the crowd had when Ciclope unmasked to reveal....Dean Malenko, they were STANDING that's how much heat Jericho could create. And those sad sad fools let it slip away. Pay attention Vince, pay attention. Don't let that stuff happen too many more times, because someone will buy out you. And then we'll probably be flooded with cheap wrestling tapes.

Don't forget his WCW commercial for his teeshirt. It had the shadowy figure admitting that he was a Jericho-holic, then the light was snapped on, it was revealed to be Jericho and he just screamed.

I don't know why, but I almost died the first time he called him Ron Misterio. That was funny as hell.

 

As for Jericho, sadly, I began boycotting WCW during the summer of 98 and missed a lot of his good stuff, but I thought the Malenko feud and the Man of 1004 holds was gold.

Tue story:

 

My friends and I got Slamboree and HATED Jericho (we were marks), except Brandon. Brandon was Jericho Mark #1. We were all rooting for Juvi. Brandon says, "I've gotta pick somebody Jericho can beat....go Pumpkin Dude!"

 

Pumpkin Dude won, and we all freaked out while Brandon celebrated. Pumpkin Dude unmasked, and Brandon freaked out while we celebrated.

 

Mattdotcom...bought a lotta crappy PPVs...

DAVE PENZER: "Ladies and Gentlemen, as Slamboree continues, this is the Cruiserweight Battle Royale, the winner to face Chris Jericho tonight. In this contest wrestlers can be eliminated by either pin fall or when their feet touch the ringside floor. And ladies and gentlemen, here are the participants..."

 

CHRIS JERICHO: "Hold on just one second here, David Penzer you unintelligible moronic high voiced dweeb! You know nothing about the sport of pro wrestling and you know nothing about these fine competitors coming out today. So I'm gonna do all the Jerichoholics a great favor. I'm gonna introduce all of the contestants in the cruiserweight battle royale. Let's face it, one of these fine contestants will get a chance at the cruiserweight belt, (they'll never win it), but tonight you're gonna see a great match from a great competitor. Let's get down to the list here..."

 

"Coming out first from (?)(Sounds like Sunchimilko) Mexico, you'll notice his hat NEVER comes off, the master of trick-track, the master of Da Funk, he is Super Calo! Look at those moves ladies and gentlemen. You got about a one in ten chance of winning, maybe."

"This guy's the true shooter of WCW, does he have a chance? No, zero chance, no way, he's Evan Courageous, ladies and gents."

 

"Oh yeah, straight from Minneapolis, Minnesota, I want my Lover Boy tape back, Lenny Lane!"

 

"And of course we've got Psychosis, he's got a lot of hubcaps in his collection, if you need one, he'll procure one for you after the show."

 

"This guy is Silver King, if he wins twelve more matches he'll be upgraded to Golden King."

 

"This guy is Johnny Sinjer? Johnny SSS.... Johnny Swinger? You ever heard of this guy? I haven't. Zero out of ten chance in winning! No chance."

 

"And last but not least, representing Villanos 1 through 62, from the Villano family, he is Villano IV."

 

"Those are your contestants in tonight's battle royale, I'm going in the back for a coffee cause none of these guys will ever ever beat me for my belt!"

BTW, I don't feel Ralphus is getting his proper respect. Jericho+Ralphus=hilarity. I will be starting a petition to bring Ralphus to the WWE, in wrestling's current slump Ralphus will be it's saviour.

When Jericho was in the WWF Mr. Hughes was his bodygaurd. He was a bad wrestler and a horrible bodygaurd when compared to the greatness of Ralphus. He ended up injuring Ken Shamrock's neck and was releashed I believe.

No, not Mr. Hughes. I remember him. I'm talking about another bodyguard of his from WCW. He didn't look goofy like Ralphus and he didn't last as long as Ralphus. I remember him also accompanying Jericho with Ralphus whenever Jericho came out.

He was the Jericho Personal Ninja, I think. I have a pic somewhere, but I'm too lazy to find it.

 

Jericho calling Rey "Ron" so affected me that I still call him Ron to this day. Good ol Ron.

 

And I can't believe no one mentioned the segment with Jericho and Princess Iaukea. Jericho said he was too fat to be a cruiser, called him a fatty repeatedly, made him get on a scale to check his weight, then bashed him over the head with said scale. Ripping into him on the mic the entire time. God, Jericho was so awesome back in the day. It's sad to see what he's become now.

Remeber when Jericho put Juvy into the real Liontamer, and he passed out. I think ti was where Juvy lost the mask but anyways I love all afterward Jericho was all like "I killed Juvy! NOOOO"

Favorite Jericho WCW moment for me is right after he lost the belt to Malenko, and they did the segment where he went to the library of congress. Just the image of him in the LoC is hilarious
