Guest EricMM Posted September 13, 2002 Report Posted September 13, 2002 (I'm sorry if the topic is sexist) Have you ever felt that someone you had a crush on was so far superior to every other girl you knew, that chasing anyone else was just bound to lead to feelings of settling for second? And in this same situation you also got the pretty clear message that this girl was not interested in you as a friend much less anything else? WWYD?
Guest NazMistry Posted September 13, 2002 Report Posted September 13, 2002 Been there, done that, brought the T-Shirt, suffered the fallout.
Guest Incandenza Posted September 13, 2002 Report Posted September 13, 2002 I so hate your avatar, Eric. Anyway, the most serious relationship I ever had was with a girl that could've fallen into that description. Had she known me in high school--and we did go to the same one for a year, but we didn't know each other--I'm fairly certian she would've fallen into the unattainable crush category. You see, I wasn't quite the playa I am now. Yeah.
Guest cynicalprofit Posted September 13, 2002 Report Posted September 13, 2002 Yeah, serious obession. Never got anywhere, damn shame cause every guy she dated till she got married was a huge fucking loser, and im a loser, but these guys were like super uber losers. Corse shes married now with 1 or 3 kids(shes preg not sure if its twins), and im stuck in a state of hell longing for that old time feeling again. But whatever, watch me dance.
Guest papacita Posted September 14, 2002 Report Posted September 14, 2002 Do I need to mention Tierra again?
Guest TheRockIsTheEuropeanChampion Posted September 14, 2002 Report Posted September 14, 2002 Damn,... one more thread like this, and I'm going to give up on dating for the rest of my life. Or until the end of high school. Whatever.
Guest papacita Posted September 14, 2002 Report Posted September 14, 2002 Damn,... one more thread like this, and I'm going to give up on dating for the rest of my life. Or until the end of high school. Whatever. Yeah, I tend to have that effect on women...
Guest goodhelmet Posted September 14, 2002 Report Posted September 14, 2002 yeah, if you don't think she wants anything to do with you, don't punish yourself. the fun part is when she comes back to the 10 year reunion about 75 lbs heavier than when you knew her. that's when you can get the last laugh!!!

Guest Vitamin X Posted September 15, 2002 Report Posted September 15, 2002 I already covered this. .....and how!
Guest Sebastian_the_Bastard Posted September 16, 2002 Report Posted September 16, 2002 Yes, I have. She stood out from everyone else and most every relationship I had from the time I liked her to now were completely pointless. For a while I was infatuated with her and now we are dating. So to answer the second part - no, she was not unattainable.
Guest Phr33k Posted September 16, 2002 Report Posted September 16, 2002 Why do you keep bringing up your fantasy-come-true story with Nicole if we already know the story? You say it in almost every thread like this one. I mean, it's INSPIRING, the first 14 times you hear it, but then...
Guest DARRYLXWF Posted September 16, 2002 Report Posted September 16, 2002 Why do you keep bringing up your fantasy-come-true story with Nicole if we already know the story? You say it in almost every thread like this one. I mean, it's INSPIRING, the first 14 times you hear it, but then... too true
Guest diavolina Posted September 19, 2002 Report Posted September 19, 2002 *sings* BLAME CANADA! BLAME CANADA!
Guest Phr33k Posted September 21, 2002 Report Posted September 21, 2002 I was just saying that we've heard it already, and we don't need to hear it EVERY TIME somebody posts a thread about unrequited love. It's like Grandpa's war stories: after the 3500th time, they get stale.
Guest Cancer Marney Posted September 21, 2002 Report Posted September 21, 2002 Like the whiny, pathetic "unrequited love" threads don't.
Guest Sebastian_the_Bastard Posted September 24, 2002 Report Posted September 24, 2002 I was posting what went with the thread... unlike you... so, please, stop your whining. Mr. Self Destruct, Sebastian the Bastard
Guest Phr33k Posted September 25, 2002 Report Posted September 25, 2002 Alright, alright! You've convinced me! I will now listen to you say it OVER AND OVER AND OVER again, and not be ONE BIT irritated. The only reason I'm annoyed is because I'm in a situation where I really like this girl, but I don't have the balls to actually do anything about it, so... It pisses me off to see other people be successful where I'm failing miserably.
Guest EricMM Posted September 26, 2002 Report Posted September 26, 2002 you do have balls... use them... (rereads previous line) ... whatever, the point is, being bashful = failure 98% percent of the time, while being brave is like... Didn't I read that if you ask out like 5 girls, one will go out with you (assuming they're single etc), so those chances are MUCH better right? Also don't be hung up on 1 person. I wasted my highschool days like that. I ignored some girls then I had crushes on later, even now. I was blinded by one girl who I didn't even talk to. How can you like someone if you haven't talked in 2 months? That should probably be an acid test for everyone. If you like someone, and you haven't spoken to them this year, it's PROBABLY not going to work out. [PC] Unless they're deaf/mute then you can sign to them [/PC]
Guest Cancer Marney Posted September 26, 2002 Report Posted September 26, 2002 Indeed. Stop whining, stop being scared, and go for the gold. How can you ever succeed if you don't even have the courage to try? Chrissakes. Even Nike gets this right. Just do it.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted September 26, 2002 Report Posted September 26, 2002 Yeah, no shit, girls aren't THAT difficult to approach, so what, you get shot down, big fuckin' deal. Better, FAR better, to be shot down early on in the game than to land smack-dab in the middle of the friend zone. I refuse to ever go there again. If it means getting shot down by every woman on earth, I swear by everything that I am, I will never end up in the friend zone again.
Guest Phr33k Posted September 27, 2002 Report Posted September 27, 2002 Well, I FINALLY bit the proverbial bullet and asked her out. All I need now is a response...
Guest Cancer Marney Posted September 27, 2002 Report Posted September 27, 2002 Say what? PLEASE don't tell me you wrote a letter.
The Dames Posted September 27, 2002 Report Posted September 27, 2002 OH man....letter writing is the worst. I've been guilty of writing a few back in the day. Dames
Guest Incandenza Posted September 27, 2002 Report Posted September 27, 2002 In less embarassing news, there's a girl at school that I've established a good rapport with, but I fear--for reasons that would take way too long to list here--fate has been conspiring against my trying to hook up with her.
Guest Leena Posted September 27, 2002 Report Posted September 27, 2002 Letter writing = Getting played, and extreme no-selling for amusement
Guest Incandenza Posted September 27, 2002 Report Posted September 27, 2002 Letter writing can be very cathartic (I know), but sending it to the person in question is a foolish, to be sure. NEVER do it.
Guest Leena Posted September 27, 2002 Report Posted September 27, 2002 On the other side, there's a guy I'm crazy about right now, but of course we can't make the first move. I'm also horrible at being subtle, so I just wait. Bah.
Guest papacita Posted September 27, 2002 Report Posted September 27, 2002 I'm TERRIBLE at talking to girls! First off, I'm really shy about expressing my feelings, which makes it hard for me to even come at a girl like that, and when I do get comfortable enough with a girl where I feel that I can express myself without a problem, something usually happens to fuck everything up (I've explained the Tierra situation before, and most recently, I haven't seen the girl I like in about a month ). With most of my girlfriends, I had to get a friend to hook me up because I was too shy to ask for myself.
