Why is Hogan getting a bigger push than Hennig when he isn't even a good wrestler?  The WWF is crazy...

"He probably really is pissed about having to work with Hall."

If you were the biggest star of the modern era and you were stuck in the midcard at the biggest show, you'd phone it in.

That said, supposedly Austin didn't want a match w/ Hogan so it is his own fault but Jesus Christ! Hall!?!? How does this benefit Austin in anyway. Let him and Angle go at it for one final match.

Yeah, this match wasn't vintage Perfect.

"How do you think a guy like Raven feels?"

What about me, what about Raven?!?!

Good question. He busts his ass. Was put in the dumbest angle ever (moppy) and expected him to get over. He could have been a main player in the ECW invasion angle but was an Austin puppet. pathetic.

(Don't mention Dreamer cos his talent left when he fought Brian Lee on a scaffold.)

That's an easy question to figure out. The WWF is pushing Hogan on his "name value". Wheather you agree with that or not...that's what the WWF is doing.

Just because Dreamer wasn't a "technical" wrestler doesn't mean crap.  Each wrestler has a style, whether is it technical, brawling, high flying, martial arts, or HARDCORE.  Dreamer's style was hardcore, and he was good at that style.  He was also a good brawler.  He was voted rookie of the year by the NWA in 1993, so saying he had NO talent is ludracris and purely opinion.

Thats not meant to insult you or your opinions either.  Don't want to start a flame war.  I agree with a good bit of your posts but not this one.  Dreamer has lost more than a few steps and should BOOK HARDCORE matches IMO.  Maybe with Johnny Ace and Raven after he retires.

Anyways, it seems to me he was a GOOD hardcore wrestler, which is what he was supposed to be.

I'd like to see Austin quit the WWF and use his massive name value to start up a new promotion.  Maybe team up with Foley.  I'm sure they both have the money to do so, and they have the name value.  And one of the top guys of the WWF jumping ship would get a lot of attention for the new fed.  It would be like when Maeda left NJPW and form UWF.

Of course, this will never happen, but I can hope.

I can't beleive that people aren't excited about Wrestlemania.  I think that this board has grown cynical for the sake of being cynical.  The card looks to be shaping up well, and there is a hint of planning for the future.  RVD and Regal may not be *****, but I bet it will garner at least ***.  Regal can put on a good match, it's just that Edge and his style clashed too much.  RVD can wrestle well on the ground, and he will prove that at WM.  From a house show report, I hear that Hall is looking good in the ring.  If Hall puts effort into it, and Austin uses wrestling moves, then the match could be ***-****.  Hogan and Rock, I guarantee will spend a wee and a half choreographing a match where Rock looks strong, but Hogan cheats to win.  It is a possible *** match, and add half* fopr the historical signifigance it could have.  APA vs. Chuckabilly will be ** (optimism mode:off) Flair will carry Taker to ***.  Nash doesn't have an opponent yet, but it could be Booker T.  Booker and Nash put on some decent WCW matches, and Nash looks in better shape.  Angle and Kane can put on a very good match.  Angle playing the heel role well will be very important.  Kane sells for Angle, and Angle can carry the big man as far as he chooses.  A couple of filler matches featuring an inspired Perfect, Tajiri, Helms, etc. could carry this show well.  I expect a good show and I am very excited about the direction the WWF is taking.  There seems to be some long term planning.

Two things will piss me off though.  The nWo needs to either win all their matches by cheating, or even if they lose, there needs to be a vicious beat down after each one.  Number two, if the whole Stephanie/HHH divorce angle is swerved back to Stephanie cheating for HHH to show how important she is, I will vomit.  If that happens and he doesn't take her back, it could get interesting on the mic with Jericho and HHH talking shit about her and Angle trying to stick up for her.

Also, WM is the biggest show of the year, so expect a swerve.  I like sensical swerves.  New nWo member, perhaps.  After all, Steiner is apparently going to no show the next WWA show, as is Jarrett.  Perhaps Taker joins the nWo.  Maybe an HBK appearance.  Maybe Benoit comes back.  I promice there will be one huge swerve.  That will explain the half-assing better than the split.  If I was in a company that was about to split, and I was in the middle of the road push wise, I would be working my ass to move up because there will be room.

Remember Raw two months ago when there was an occasional good match.  Now the show has one, maybe two a show.  That is improvement.  The nWo angle is being handled very well.

Remember last week when every was creaming themselves over the nWo/Rock segments?  Everyone was so excited, and now people are talking about how WM is going to suck.  Make up your mind (notice how that was not plural, I am not yet convinced that some people on here can form their own opinion.  those of you that I have faith in, and have credibility in my eyes, I hope you know who you are).  WM is going to be a big show, and perhaps one that changes the course of the WWF forever.

I agree WM is going to be big. The media will be all over this due to Hogan/Rock. I also expect some big angle to go down at WM. I'm looking forward to seeing Flair on a WM card again.

You know...

Knee shots on a guy that is clearly wearing a large metal knee brace is kind of a stupid attack.

You'd think they could think up a better part of Austin to have people attack in order to make the attacks look more convincing.

Hell they could AT LEAST have them take off the brace before attacking the knee.

eh...I don't care about the knee brace.

I can suspend disbeleif for that...knowing that Austin has serious knee injuries is enough to sell me on the psychology.

"I'd like to see Austin quit the WWF and use his massive name value to start up a new promotion.  Maybe team up with Foley.  I'm sure they both have the money to do so, and they have the name value. "

This could be the one upstart that could possibly be successful. Austin definitely has mainstream credibility, he would just need the financial backing. I know I'd tune in. Austin can't be happy fighting Hall. I bet before the NWO came to town, it was supposed to be either Austin-Rock (which would rule) or Austin-HHH (which may or may not rule depending on Trips condition). I'm sorry but either of the above matches would heve been much more exciting than NWo vs. whoever.

"Make up your mind "

If this is in reference to me, my opinion has remained consistent throughout the whole NWO mess. I don't like it. The Rock-Hogan showdown was solid. EVERYTHING ELSE was been there-done that. If this is not for me, disregard but my opinion is the same.

As for the booking of Mania, I'm not excited. It's a culture clash of styles and not one match looks to approach **** levels. Not saying one of them can't but none of them have a serious energy to them as can't miss save for Hogan-Rock. Built up well but the match will probably suck.

Message to WWF: Prove me Wrong!

I'm calling a **** from Kane and Angle.

They have good chemistry for some fucked up reason...and given the time of a ppv match I think they can hit ****.

Kane works well with guys who aren't big men.

I hope you are right. I can always appreciate a good match but this pairing has been run into the ground.

Kane/Angle match will have little to no heat. Angle will probably get heat for being American. I think they'll have a *** match.

Man I was at the show tonight.  If I wasnt on the floor, it would have been a *complete* waste.  Austin sold the knee injury after they went off the air, co uldnt even give us a good beer spot.

Crowd was dead and drunk.  I think Providence RAW means "take the week off boys"

I don't know if any of you caught it, but during the IC contendership match, Storm told Big Show to chop him REALLY LOUD.  I just found it amusing, because he said it twice in a row and when Show did it, Storm looked like he really regretted it.

I know I missed it because I was catatonic due to boredom and couldn't change the channels(was taping it for a friend). Man, I liked Angle/Jericho, Austin's NWO beatdown, and Jericho's awesome promo, but the crowd just wasn't there tonight and that just made the show drag on forever. No offense, BigBadBootyDaddy, but Providence kinda sucked ass for this show.

Weren't people complaining about having another Rock/Austin WM main event not long ago? They have their wish. Now it's HHH/Jericho & Rock/Hogan.

I'm glad that they went with HHH/Jericho because it IS something different. BUT, I still kinda wish that Rock/Austin had happened to FINALLY blow off their feud for good.

I wanted Rock vs. Austin to happen as a guaranteed good match.

And Jericho vs. HHH to be for the title.

What's the point of Austin/Rock, if it isn't even for the title? They could save it for Summerslam, Surivor Series or WM 19.

That's a very good point, Tony. I think they should blow it off either at SummerSlam(which probably won't happen) or Survivor Series at the latest. I think holding it off til WM 19 would be a mistake since eithe rone could get seriously injured or something else equally bad, remember what happened to poor lil Stinger in 90....

alexcc I think one of the problems is that you can't look at any match on the card and say ok, thats a **** match easy.  There are a couple that COULD reach ****, HHH/Jericho or Angle/Kane but those are both best case scenarios.  It just seems quite possible that there won't be any GREAT match and that's kind of a letdown for a Wrestlemania

this should have been the year that Austin finally lost to Rock. Period.

It could have been built for months, title or not. They could have easily built up the history between the two and the place would have exploded. Real heartfelt drama. have we seen it before? Yes. Have they always delivered? Yes. Could this last match finally have put closure to the feud and ended the Attitude era properly? yes.

Mania should have seen the NWO in a 6 man to hide their flaws then start building them up towards Summerslam in main event caliber dream matches. With the lack of time to shake the ring rust, the matches might not even be watxhable and that is a shame. Example: tonight's match with Perfect-Austin. Perfect looked lost. Before he was stuck in that position, he should have been on the road at least another month. wasn't ring rust JR's excuse when the Alliance fell flat on its back? Same thing. Don't set these guys up to fail.

There would have been plenty of reason/build for the match non-title if they hadn't gotten jumpy and turned Austin face after Survivor Series.
