Guest Leena Report post Posted September 16, 2002 Wow. That may have been the most exciting game I've ever watched. The game wasn't well played, but it had everything. Turnovers, missed extra points, long passes, lots of 4th down completions, and the end of regulation was insane with that 55-yard field goal that made it by an inch. I'm finally interesting in NFL, after watching boring blowouts in all the other games.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted September 16, 2002 I watched. The Bills game was like that last week too. I swear...one more like this and I'll have a heart attack.
Guest cartman Report post Posted September 16, 2002 Same here, I really enjoyed that game...almost as much as the J-E-T-S massacre, hehe! Bledsoe sure is putting on a show so far though, good for him I say!
Guest The Voices In Your Head Report post Posted September 16, 2002 Yes, I saw it too. Really fun to watch. [i'm sure Viking & Bill fans didn't feel the same way] I didn't get to see the whole thing, because I watched just about all of the Rams-Giants game [which happened to put me into a good mood after seeing my Pack lose]
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Report post Posted September 16, 2002 I was flipping between that game and Rams/Giants. I'd hate to be the Vikings' kicker tomorrow...
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted September 16, 2002 I hate living in Baltimore. After having to watch the Rodney Hampton and his impressive 3.3 yards per carry and the cadre of crappy quarterbacks that have played for the Giants, I hardly get to watch them now that they are good. I had to watch the Ravens get shut out today by the Buccaneers.

Bills vs. Vikings was on CBS Oops my mistake. I assumed it was on FOX, sorry about that. FOX wasn't showing football in the afternoon here for some reason. And CBS didn't show the rest of the Bills/Vikings game after the Niners/Broncos game wrapped up, so, I didn't get to see the end of it.
Guest Leena Report post Posted September 17, 2002 And CBS didn't show the rest of the Bills/Vikings game after the Niners/Broncos game wrapped up, so, I didn't get to see the end of it. They don't do that anymore? That sucks. The game went until about 8:30, too. I never remember a day game going that late.
Guest Phr33k Report post Posted September 17, 2002 The Bills are just the shoot-out-the-lights team of the year. They've got O.
Guest DrTom Report post Posted September 17, 2002 I hate living in Baltimore. Pinnacle, I sympathize. I lived in Baltimore for 20 years, and I now live in the suburbs, so I'm still part of that market. What I hated then and still hate now is all the goddamn Redskins games that get force-fed to us because the NFL sees it as the "Baltimore-Washington" market. Hello? Washington is 40 miles from Baltimore, 70 miles from me, and I've always hated that team. A buddy of mine has the NFL Sunday Ticket option on his satellite. I might have to start going there to watch the games, especially if the Ravens keep biting the meat missile like that have the first two weeks.

They don't do that anymore? That sucks. The game went until about 8:30, too. I never remember a day game going that late. They didn't do that this week. I was expecting to see the end of some game since there was a game or two still going on. After the Niners/Broncos game concluded then that was it, CBS went on to whatever else they were showing at that time. I'm assuming it was some "contractual" issue, because near the end of the early-game coverage, they quickly switched over to the start of the Niners/Broncos game and they said "contractual" reasons were why they did that. Guest Si82 Report post Posted September 17, 2002 I saw it. It was a damn exciting game. It was the only full game on here in the UK this week. Normally they show two games back to back. But we just got the one this week. Shame.
Guest Leena Report post Posted September 17, 2002 The Bills' offense is nothing special, wait until next week when they play an actual defense in Denver.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted September 17, 2002 I think the Bill's terrible defense makes thier offense look better. It's not like Bledsoe has to wait very long to get the ball back, especially in that Jets game. And just a thought, did the Vikes safety choose the one worst possible angle to come up and hit Price after he made that last catch?
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted September 17, 2002 And just a thought, did the Vikes safety choose the one worst possible angle to come up and hit Price after he made that last catch? It didn't matter. The Bills where going to score eventuallly on that drive. Any Viking loss is a good loss.

He could have tackled him around the 30, and who knows what would have happened in that crazy game. Bills' defense is just really young. I've never heard of any of their D linemen except for Pat Williams. Winfield and Clements will be an awesome pair of CB's in the next few years.
Guest converge241 Report post Posted September 17, 2002 awesome game. bledsoe gets the 30k mark AND ties atop most tds in overtime Bills def is young, but they are just attrocious. That being said i think they have a shot at making the playoffs. Look @ rams of 2 years ago 10-6 with leagues worst defense. They wont go far but they are contenders. Guest El Satanico Report post Posted September 17, 2002 Hmm well i don't know about all that "contractual" stuff, but it sounds like some lame excuse the cable company gave out. The contract would be with NFL, so if it was a contractual reason like your cable said then i'd think that every channel would have to abide by it. It has to be up to each local affiliate to decide on showing the ending to another game or cutting straight to the second game. My Networks only show three games with the double header alternating between them from week to week. Is it like this every where?

I have satellite (but, that wasn't what I was watching the games on) I have some of the local networks here on regular TV, the local NBC, CBS, FOX, etc and it does sound like some lame excuse, but, I'm assuming it was time constraints or some lame crap like that. Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted September 17, 2002 I don't have sattilite, but here's how it is where I live. I live an hour from Indy, so the Colts are the "local" team. When the Colts are away, CBS shows the Colts only, Fox has a double header. When the Colts are in Indy, CBS shows their game, and which ever Fox game is in the same time slot gets blacked out. We still get the other Fox game, however. When the Colts play at night or have a bye, CBS and FOX both have doubleheaders.
Guest Rabbi_wilson13 Report post Posted September 17, 2002 This was one of the best games I've ever seen. 1) You had the inconsistency of Culpepper and the Vikings kicker, which was just great. You gotta love that. 2) Randy Moss making one handed catches and all sorts of crazy stuff. That was a blast. 3) The Bills giving up like 80 yards on every return. I've never seen a special teams that bad. 4) Almost ending in a tie. I figured it would end with the Vikings going for a FG on 3rd, and the holder getting hurt with :02 left. Call in Culpepper for the hold on 4th, he fumbles it, clock expires. What a game. NFL rules.
